Slick! My 450 with a little more engagement on the overloads equals about 3200-3300lbs on the rear axle. I’ve been surprised how incredible it does without airbags. That trailer isn’t too bad weight wise! My 34’ hydraulic dovetail is 10,300 empty according to my sticker. That truck is going to blow your mind with how well it does everything! I haul my 80 around and like it isn’t even there. I don’t even slow down on the hills so I can’t imagine how good your new truck will do!
Automatic engine brake setting will only apply the engine brake when you apply the foundation brakes. This setting is to have engine brake use without changing the transmission shift schedule. When you turn on the engine brake(1 press), this changes the transmissions behavior. It locks the torque converter in all gears except 1-3. This can cause shift issues(sometimes rough) but it maintains driveline efficiency(always locked like a manual clutch) and saves the service brakes. Applying the brake(lights only) causes the transmission to downshift one gear. When you use the automatic setting it maintains the original(non- tow/haul) transmission behavior(shift schedule) when using tow/haul it holds gears longer while having more aggressive torque converter lock(minimizes heat into trans fluid) while getting more torque to the ground. I dont drive my 2020 truck without the engine brake on. My 2019 had 50,000km on it at 2 years old with 70% of the pad life left. Crewcab long bed F350 8500lbs curb, 9400lbs with the family on board
@@workplaytv LOL No. I am just an avid owner, with a super sharp attention span(aspergers) I look deep into technical pages and ask lots of questions at the dealer(with few answers), have spent lots of time in-seat testing various modes(tow/haul, slippery, etc). I love my 2020 but I miss my 2019 Lariat(every option nee console and panoramic roof) I was looking for an F450 instead of this f250 HCTTP(10800lb GVWR derated f350) but price was right and I didn't lose 100lbs of payload(3050 down to 2990) and gained 200lbs max tow(21800 upto 22000) the 10 speed is great but I hate the 3.31 axle. COVID screwed up supply hard back in the fall so I picked a local truck that "would work" for now. Definitely don't like the CCSB the frame isn't as stiff as the CCLB(one frame for SRW and DRW) I will most likely replace this truck in 3 years with an F450 with that same antimatter blue w/two-tone
I'm loving this new truck!! I definitely thought the payload would've been a little higher since my SRW F350 has a 4500lb payload but 4700 is more than enough to be honest. Keep up the great content!!
From what I understand change your transmission fluid often!! Like every 40,000 miles. Those 10 speeds run hot and break down fluid quickly and run into issues. Also archoil AR 6200 in your fuel to keep that CP4 happy. Not sure if diesel is the same in canada but if it’s the same ultra low sulfur those CP4 pumps do not appreciate that fuel. The archoil adds lubricity back to the fuel.
Love it!! I had the 2019 f450 lariat. Beautiful truck! It was too much truck for what i needed im back in 2019 f250 powerstroke. But either way i love the trucks! Love seeing them in action!
Are you planning on hauling the KX080 with the F-450? If so why did you get the 450 if you already had the 550? Just curious on how you plan to use the 450 compared to 550. Thanks!
When my dedicated work truck goes down I am unable to transport my equipment or work. I lost a water pump and the dealership had it for 1 day warranty work that turned into 1 week due to stripping threads and stupidity. But I was out of work for 8 days. I am getting a new rig and my old truck will become a backup and the wife likes to drive it too. Your new f450 will be a lifesaver when the f550 goes down, every truck does. I think trading the f350 for the f450 was exactly what needed to happen. I have airbags and dislike what they do to the ride. Maybe you can run it as is for a while to see how it handles the different loads, the suspension can cycle more freely and give you a better ride. God bless. Love the content!

I am looking to upgrade from a 2011 Ford 6.7 SRW F350 to either a 450 or 350 DRW as I picked up a 2020 keyston fuzion 357 last year that is 17K GVWR and shes having a hard time pulling her in the mountains. I don't haul anything heavier and would be using this as my daily driver do you think its worth it to step up to a 450 or would a 3.55 350 DRW probably be more than enough from what I am coming from? TIA
You mentioned air bags in the near future for the 450 . Which ones are you going with ? I have a 2020 Platinum 450 and pull a 40’ fifth wheel with the GenY 5thwheel to gooseneck hitch . I did notice a little squat but not much and I think air bags might be what I need .
My payload on my 450 is 4860 , I didn’t get the vista roof so I gained some payload. I see where you can get 5000 or 7500 lb air bags depending on which brand you get . I’ll be watching to see what you decide on . Love to 10 speed so far .

Diamond C is really nice! Too bad it’s not RTAC compliant, not actually legal on Canadian HWYs. Or until you get caught anyway. Gotta love the rules our DOT just makes up for the fun of it.
@@workplaytv Agreed! It’s the biggest disappointment with my 2020 F350 KR. The cam in the tailgate for conventional towing hookup is equally poor in resolution and has too much fisheye. Honestly I don’t use either anymore for lining up (use references on the trailer and mirrors instead) and just use the cam to tell me when I’m close enough to get out and look. You’d think for the price of the trucks and the premium we are paying for the technology they could come up with a higher resolution system with less fish eye.

I sure do. They are ok as a cheaper alternative but not adjustability depending on weight load

You can actually get it all done at Ford. Fairly & Stevens. Just make sure you get castor shims.
