      Thanks so much! We really appreciate that. It would be nice to have the channel a bit larger with more views, but as you see we are not trendy or pushing products, so TH-cam ignores us. People in general gravitate towards staged disaster details or product commercials. Too bad really, but at least the ones who do find our channel are usually interested in the reality of detailing.
      Thanks for watching and subbing!

    Good video again! Thanks Phil, foaming twice is too much time spent in the sun, pre rinsing does remove loose debris, then foam and contact wash then rinse and protection added as a drying aid, machine polish at the end where necessary..

    Opps! I was the one that got staining from a pre-wash. And yes, i had to polish it out! Ouch.
    You are absolutely right about color/gloss. In the printing industry, you have to have the right lighting to interpret that. Even with the correct lighting, it gets subjective because our eyes see that differently from person to person. In the printing industry, color computers are used "see" color properly.
    In my experience, gloss on a car may be subjective, but the owners of the cars freak out from the "shine" they see, and thats whats important to me.
    Very good explanation about the verbiage in detailing. Easy to understand. Hi wife!

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. All the coatings we use are single application anyway. All of Gtechniq’s and Gyeon coatings are single application. Some people think you need to put a second application or a topper coating. But found it be redundant and unnecessary. So we love using Crystal Serum light and EXOv5 as our main coatings. One application and awesome durability!

      Hi. Thanks for I don’t personally use the iron remover and clay mitt that way because it was wasn’t formulated to work like that. The iron Decon from hybrid solutions has other chemicals in it to work as a wheel cleaner also. I’m sure it could work fine but not sure how long the clay mitt would last. DIY details is different and was designed to work together. But honestly hive it a try and if it works and the clay mitt lasts a long time, then keep using like that. 😎👍🏼

    Hi Phil. I was about to polish my truck with turtle wax hybrid solutions ceramic polish & wax all in one; to later ceramic coat it with DIY 5 year. However, going thru some videos, someone pointed out that if you were to apply a liquid ceramic coating like DIYs or GTechnic, to not use a polish that had ceramic protection before applying this type of coatings because it would not bond. Does that make sense? I am not a detailer. It’s just a hobby I am learning. Thank you. Guillermo

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi. Yea that’s correct, unless the all in one polish is specifically formulated to use with a coating, don’t use it. There are some polishes like Carpro Essence, Gyeon Primer, Dr Beasleys NSP’s, and now DIY APP polish try are used to polish and prep the paint for a coating without having to use a panel wipe.

    So kinda on or similar vein. A few months ago I decided to just use gyeon wet coat as my protection. I got sick of laborious paste waxes and even spray waxes. Just spray after every wash and car beads and looks great. In the last few days I asked myself does wet coat have UV protection and seems it doesn’t. But is there any risk with this method?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi. That’s a viable option. Honestly I do t worry about UV protection anymore. There is no way to gauge that or stop it completely. Unless you keep your car under a car port or garage.
      But as long as your car is easier to clean, glossy and beading water each time, that’s what really matters to me.

  • @randymcnaught5583

    Great job at explaining all the different issues & verbiage of the job Phil. Q: as a newbie to the realm of detailing, does the protections that have been installed on the paint need to be removed from the body eventually and start fresh or is it just a stacking process. I have a couple of cars that I wash weekly.I may used a “wax” or an Sio-infused product. Does it need to be stripped after a while or once/year? Will a decontamination wash be enough or a fill claying?
    Thanks for your caring and education to the world of detailing. I appreciate your dedication. Best from 🇨🇦

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi. Thanks. So waxes and sealants wear away over time anyway. But if you are washing and applying a spray sealant or wax each time you don’t have to worry about stripping anything. If you want to clay bar and polish the paint, you also don’t have to worry about stripping previously applied protection like waxes or sealants. They will be easily removed in the polishing process. And don’t worry about them effecting your pads or anything. It doesn’t. As long as your vehicle is easier to clean, glossy and beading water, you can continue your usually way and spray protection. As long as you want.
