This tutorial clearly shows the tools and techniques needed to clean up a model.

One of the points you made is giving a bit of a headache. You and many others mention that the model should basically be one single entity. This is what I have also though all along. Yet, as an experiment, I made a model of an open box with with the words "ON" and "OFF" modeled on it, but I made the text in a separate group and then grouped the whole model together. To my surprise, this did not cause any problems when I ran it in Cura. So I guess grouping several entities together at the end is ok?

hi, i wanted to 3d print a model volvo 240, but the only free model available is in 3d warehouse and it is made with a lot of internal components like springs and steering rods. and made with zero thiccness walls and it has some gaps in the bodywork. do you think you could convert it to a solid for me?

All this cleaning up gave me a headage already after 15 min. Use CleanUp tool ( sketchucation.com/pluginstore?listtype=1&author=0&category=0&search=cleanup&submit=%3F ). You can clearly see this model is built of similar structures. So seperate 1 clean it up and make a component and copy it.
