Honestly this anime feels like its from an entirely different era. It doesnt feel the typical isekai, even when we get scenes of him in the other world

eh, I think the feel is very similar to most isekai trash, it's just hard to see past the quality and care. Besides, what other era do you think it's like?

I can't, whenever I hear these lyrics, it makes me feel like they foreshadow sth bad during his isekai days
The fact that he has always been someone who is alone and can't deal with too much dark moments like when he realised his family relationships all self destructed cux of him in coma that he relied on memory erasing, even then he came back, and he was like everyone appearance were very good looking
He lacked self confidence in himself, to trust his own instinct and self
And always denied that ppl are actually doing sth good for him
Since they touched on his skepticism towards ppl, he probably just seen their actions but dismissed it
Trust yourself, don't deny
He kept talking about the story where the girl lost her will and went on a rampage, until she snapped out of it then realised what she did...
Save yourself
Everytime he can't cope, he erases even his own memory, since so far all his memories, he nvr shown anything bad for now
Don't forget
After all 17 years, and ppl actually got along with him, there isn't any reason his social skills would be anywhere near bad, and he shown time and time again he is capable of proper social communication
Even him just watching back his memories, it's almost as if he decided not to forget anymore and overcome his past, and now looks at the good moments of his past life, in memories of his companions
Man, the final lines of this song will hit hard if we ever reached the climax moment or the end of his isekai story...

I just finished episode 12. It does feel like the lyrics are foreshadowing something. I'm not a manga reader btw. That said, Yosuke did return to Japan. And what we know about his personality is that he erases traumatic events with magic. my working theory is something bad had to happen for him to return to earth with no recollection of the details. probably erased the memories because it was so bad. I dont hope my theory is right because Uncle needs a break

The anime actually covered pretty much all of the manga up to this point. There are only a few more chapters after the anime. I think they do a new chapter like every month or two.
The Manga is barely pass what we've gotten unfortunately, reality is we'd be waiting for at least six years before it even starts production.
One of the best modern opening songs there is. I actually sit through it every episode.

modern isekai are for the most part a tired trope-fest. It's those creative, self aware shows/manga that actually bring something to the table

This anime is the realest visualization of what looking back at your life when your 40 is gonna be like. You're gonna see all those girls you could have been with in hindsight, the power you had, and the fun you were having. Maybe the OP is hinting at that, "I believe in what I've done, no reason to go back again". "Trust yourself and don't forget". Ect, either way, when I look at my past, all I notice are the opportunities I missed, and I'm not sure how I should be feeling.

Despite the small production team and multiple delays killing most of its hype, I think this series turned out to be pretty great and very special. I'll hold out hope for a second season...

Literally played it every episode. Would not skip this absolute master piece
I found my new obsession in this world. This manga and anime feel so special, it has such a 90's feeling, yet it mixes up comedy and interesting stuff at every turn, he takes the tropes of what we've come to expect from your Isekai anime and changes them completely. Yousuke is such a fun protagonist, I ended up swallowing the entire manga in 1 day. Hopefully we get a full season 2 one day.
don't see the 90s influence in either the show or the manga. They talk a lot about the 90s WITHIN the story, but the story itself felt... well... modern... maybe not associated with any timeframe... but not too differetn from other modern manga I've read during the last few years.

Isekai Ojisan is the only anime with flashbacks in every episode and makes you want more flashbacks.

I heard from someone in AnimeNewsNetwork, it's due to the fact that there is no staffs yet (idk how and why it happens). Ippei Ichii (the same animator who got underpaid by Netflix/Mappa for animating Yasuke) said on his Twitter that it was decided not to direct ep 10.

If a 2nd season will see the light of day, we'll wait at least 2 years, since the anime got almost everything out from the manga till this moment (7 issues on the 1st season out of 9 issues, in a 5 years run). But it is an ongoing series and a popular one, so it's possible.

Idk why, but this show filled something in my void that I’ve been missing for a very long time. Something about it just feels so nostalgic and beautiful. I feel so empty everytime an episode ends or when I know there’s only a few episodes left…it’s a show I wish could just keep going.

A reverse isekai and a love letter to SEGA fans...the love and care about every single detail and part...a well made own language with structure, many correct references and you don't lose track since it barely has one...the switches to the actual world and the other don't annoy at all and its very balanced...its way different than other isekais because its reverse (meaning he returns to his actual world instead of landing in one at the beginning)...and the characters are just love and comfortable to watch...the story is awesome and simple and doesn't confuse the watcher...

I literally just finished it today and It already feels nostalgic. The way Netflix kinda described this anime and how the artstyle looked from the thumbnail i thought this was gonna be more gloomy and "supernatural" sort of, but it turned out to be way better. It's worth your time.
