      Phil and the others here on TH-cam have a wealth of knowledge and information.
      I worked as a detailer in a dealership for 40 years before retiring a few months ago.
      I learn new stuff everyday here on TH-cam.
      No matter what trade you work in everyday is a school day.when you stop learning,you stop living.

    I gotta say Phil, I have seen you do the contact wash with a wash mitt and clay mitt and I’m kinda intrigued by that. I think I will be giving that a go the next time it’s necessary to clay some panels on my car. Nice video. Till the next one.👍🏻🇨🇦As a P.S. I use Koch Chemie Motorplast and it is a great product and really does look great. Just thought I would put that out there.😂😂

    Phil, I've had a "debate" with others about your commentary about what services to offer the customer. I've been considering going the other direction: "specializing" on a specific detailing package, and not offering much if any alterations to that. If there's not an alignment between expectations and service, then I'm just not the person for the job; no hard feelings on either side. Something I've learned as I've gotten "older", is learning to know when to say "no, not for me." Yes it'll limit the pool of customers, but I think it'll be more satisfying to both myself and the potential customers. Perhaps as my experience grows I'd expand my offerings, but if not then no harm no foul.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Yeah I totally understand that. To a certain degree business have to do they have to do. It comes down to personal choice and not really a “business” strategy. When one is starting their business they usually do whatever they can to gain customers and then start to streamline their services so as to be the most efficient and make the most money while keeping quality at a standard. After 13 years for us we have also streamline our services and will definitely say no to certain jobs becasue we either don’t need it or don’t want it. Good info man! Thanks for sharing.

    great video as always man
    i love the dynamic you and your wife have.....my wife have has started to help me when i go out on detail jobs
    quick question......i use super clean as my foam soap wash from time to time....can i use that as lubricant for my clay mitt?
    i dont quite know what is safe and what isnt safe for a clay lube if it isnt already stated on the label

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man!
      So I don’t use super clean as a soap or clay lubrication, but I’m sure you can, I would dilute it 1:10 though because it’s strong stuff.

      i saw in an earlier video you use ONR diluted as a lube as well...i might go that route too

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You’re welcome. Yeah ONR is way better to use as a clay lube, it’s ph neutral and designed for that.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. All newer vehicles from the 90’s on you can get things in there and it’s fine. We don’t get extremely close to anything anyway plus we blow dry and start the car to dry everything in there.

    Excellent video again man!! Question…when doing the paint enhancement;do you charge less when doing an all in 1 instead of a single stage?…if yes what’s the difference

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. Great question. So we have 3 exterior choices Paint Protection (wash, decon, sealant) Paint Enhancement (wash, decon, polishing to 50%+ defects, sealant) then Paint Correction (shooting for 90%+ defect remove) however if the customer wants something in between the Paint Protection and Enhancement and not worried about swirl removal that’s when we offer an All in one polish that usually gets about 25% or so but it’s not going as far as an enhancement. But I only offer that as an alternative option if they are concerned about the Enhancement price. So it’s a compromising service that still makes money but makes the customer happy.
      Everyone has their definition of what an all-in-one, a single stage, and an enhancement means. I try to keep it simple by just using enhancement as my 50% polishing defects removal service.

    I see that you are still using your traditional APC rinse instead of the KC soaps……. I was about to buy the KC super foam or maybe the active foam. Is there a reason that you are not using the soaps instead of the apc ?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. I go back and forth because I have so much product to use. Either way works actually. It’s just personal choice. 😎👍🏼

    • @jeromeboily
      @jeromeboily 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MirandaDetailing is super foam really more effective than the active foam and compared to the usual apc rinse ? I hesitate between the 2 soaps just because i don’t want to degrade my Mckees37 graphene coating when occasionelly foaming my truck. But main usage will be to remove dirt from custommers cars before washing. My usage does not allow to get both!!!!

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So if you have a ceramic coating already there is now need to do a pre wash or apc rinse all the time. Only if you notice it’s really dirty. I would go with the active foam instead because it’s a ph of 9 and it’s not as strong as Super foam or super clean as a apc rinse. I only do a strong apc rinse or pre wash on vehicles that are in for our full services. Maintenance details don’t need that much pre washing.

      @@MirandaDetailing this is my intention too only for cars in for a detail but i want to use it 2-3 times a year on my coating when really dirty after a canadian winter or after a long roadtrip with lots of bug. Main usage will be for clients car. So will the 12ph hurt my coating if only used a few times ?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2
