@@pardonmypiano my big concern with the nord grand was that nord asked customised the keybed from kawai the rh3 .. which is the keybed from kawai mp7se and mp7 has graded hammer action and nord took this keybed without being graded and people saying that the whole keybed of nord grand is like the upper right end of kawai mp7 action which means thats why is easy to play on it as you said also. I dont know if this keybed is good for training and studying for a newbie like me ( you can hear a video from my youtube profile ).. tell me please how you are able to carry mp11 alone in gigs? As a beginner I can’t decide between the MP11SE, VPC1, Nord Grand/Piano5, Roland Fantom 8 or even a Komplete Kontrol S88. I want a realistic keybed but also want to be able to grow into a lot of the other features too, like to layer strings and orchestral stuff (therefore I feel like I’d need a modwheel). The Fantom seems to have more bells and whistles I might use like the loops/sequencer, synths and pads. If I went with the MP11SE, what would I need to pair with it to gain the other features I’d be giving up that something like the Fantom offers?
Hi! My opinion is that you should get the MP11SE because the keys feels the most realistic. Nord Grand feels like a toy to me because it has a different purpose (more for church musicians or electronic music). Nord Grand's keys are made out of plastic vs real wooden keys for MP11SE. You can than pair the MP11 with a good VST in Logic Pro or FL Studio and you can get your own orchestra sounds and whatnot. :) Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions
@@pardonmypiano Hi Thank you for the quick response. That is kind of where I was leaning, I like the sound of the Nords but figure I can find something else I like in a VST. So currently leaning toward Noire or Keyscape. Not that I dont like the MP11SE sounds, I do. For the sequencer/loop stuff the Fantom offers, is all of that done in a DAW as well? Or should I be looking at another piece of hardware for that? This will all be mounted to a standing desk with a pull out drawer I'm building for the piano, so I really only have room for 1 full size piano but a small MIDI controller or other device like a Maschine would be OK for on top of my desk if I find I need one.
I have to say that all these instruments you list are very heavy duty for a beginner. Is this going to be your first piano purchase? If not, what are you using already? Maybe a more modest instrument will do until you know more about which way you want to go. If piano key action is critically important to you, then you are probably not going to venture far down the organ/synth/electronic route. Please forgive my heavy editing of my comment, it's because the word "beginner" got me thinking.
@@Zoco101 Right now, as a beginner, I am leaning toward the new ES120, and then maybe by the time I learn enough to need something better, the MP12 or VPC2 will be out.
@@reltius2993 Well you like the Kawai sound, so the ES120 makes sense from that perspective. I understand that some issues on the ES110 have been ironed out in the later (ES120) model - mainly the wobbly keys. I'm more into Yamaha sounds, but that's another story. The other portable pianos for beginners (that I'd recommend) are Alesis Prestige/Prestige Artist, Yamaha P-121/125, Roland FP-30X, Casio PX-S1100 and Korg B2. Supposedly, the Donner DEP-20 is pretty good and very cheap, but I haven't tried it.
Did you know Kawai make a much nice music rest you can't upgrade to. It's comes forward more and looks a look nicer than the factory one you are using. It's got a lovely see though backing and much nicer all round.
It's about the connection. I've owned the Mp11se and now own a Nord stage 4. As much as I love the Nord sound, the keyboard really is hard for me to play passionately. It's like trying to adjust like you're being handicapped. The kawai mp11se was the best connection I've ever had to a digital piano
That is the keyboard I have and I like it very much, it is as nice as any that I have played before. But as you imply in your MIDI controller comment, it is only a keyboard and has no sampled pianos or built-in speakers. I use mine in combination with Pianoteq, the best piano virtual instrument I have encountered. That has to be installed on a PC to which you connect via an audio interface along with monitors for sound. A bit involved but worth it for me due to the very realistic nature of that Modartt product. It has no samples at all, the tones are algorithmically generated so instead of only 12 or so volume levels you get 127.
Nord grand had fast action, but its overpriced, also the nord piano monitors are very bad and again overpriced... How you find the mp11se action? Aa fast as the nord? Also you're audio is clipping, just friendly advice I'd like to give you
I know that it is clipping! I am still trying to find a way to remove it. I need to get a good mixer/audio interface because recording directly to the USB creates clipping. ( I assume) Do you have any suggestions that might help? I will be forever grateful my friend :)
As I said I never played this but there’s no negative reviews, not even one! I have played on Roland and Grand stage both. Roland key action in nice but the sounds like a digital. Grandstage sounds very power but not like acoustic and RH3 key action not suitable for classical pianist but MP11SE does sounds like a real grand in fact it’s better sounding than a many of basic and cheep grand

Interesting!! Thanks for letting me know!! I have been recording more on my grand piano lately❤️
Where are you from my friend?
@@pardonmypiano I'm a professional pianist from London in England, UK. :)
I'm in doubt about nord grand and kawai mp11se, did you edit the sound or is it the real piano sound?because if the real sound doesn't lose for nord
I was wondering if Kawai VPC1 (MIDI controller) was one of the 30 keyboards that you tried at Sweetwater? If it was, what did you think of it?
That is the keyboard I have and I like it very much, it is as nice as any that I have played before. But as you imply in your MIDI controller comment, it is only a keyboard and has no sampled pianos or built-in speakers. I use mine in combination with Pianoteq, the best piano virtual instrument I have encountered. That has to be installed on a PC to which you connect via an audio interface along with monitors for sound. A bit involved but worth it for me due to the very realistic nature of that Modartt product. It has no samples at all, the tones are algorithmically generated so instead of only 12 or so volume levels you get 127.
@@christophermabry Thank you.
The Mp11se was specifically designed for classical pianists❤️
You always p;ay so beautifully, Michael. You coul play a toy piano and it would still sound great! Thanks for sharing this demo version of several songs that you have played wonderfully 🤗❤🙌🎹💯💥
My dram keys.
