Of course. He respected Dr. Hamm as a fellow man of science and colleague. Of course, I most want to know where it is that SCP-049 attained his Doctorate. If indeed he is a Doctor, then surely he had to get his degree from somewhere.
Plus the neglect he received from the Foundation for his woes, he sounds malevolent. I can imagine pieces from the original document discussing how 049 becoming aloof and indifferent to personal after this incident
RRRnGAMES Those parts have to be some of my favorite voice acting Volgun has ever done. I can’t remember ever hearing 049 get truly emotional (partially because of the tinny, vaguely robotic voice, and partially because that’s just not who he is). But here? You can hear regret and sadness, anger and passion as he argues his case, and even bitterness towards the people who don’t believe him. It’s a side to our favorite doctor I always wanted to see more of, and Volgun delivered every line beautifully.
I really think if a doctor were to approach 049 with a VERY specific phrasing ("Please, in the name of gaining another doctor at your side to combat this disease, explain the disease to me as if I knew nothing. Start from the very simplest facts, and I might start understanding.") you might get an explanation as to what 049 thinks needs curing.

I actually like this SCP-049 more than original. Plague Doctor now feels like an actual doctor rather than psycho killer. He has more character, I think.
It's hinted that SCP 049 to some extent was capable of performing some level of healing centuries ago. But it's believed the traumatic experience of the black death across Europe drove him insane. Scp 035 hints at this and how he watched his friend slowly started acting more unnatural
I was thinking more along the lines that the "pestilence" was either mortality, or humanity's violent tendencies. Given how the reanimated corpses were extremely violent, though, I was thinking much more towards mortality itself. Something that everyone suffers from, and for which we have no cure. Or maybe it's tuberculosis, who knows.
@@spamuel98 I agree on the fact there's a good chance it's mortality, if you assume 49 has some sort of precognition, his statements about it coming in strange and unexpected ways makes alot of sense
I love how tragic this rewrite is. It's honestly like a bunch of other SCPs that have these non-human moral compasses, working in ways we don't understand or comprehend, and it fits into the horror theme of the foundation than just "WOOO SCARY". It's someone who is trying to help people but has broken down into what we consider insanity.
I can only say I’m very interested to see what a “perfect” cure to the pestilence looks like, and I loved the humanization that 049 got in this rewrite.
The SCP-049 rewrite portrays it as a tragic character in the form of a plague doctor with good intentions. Like you said, it's a great addition into the SCP universe.
You can't just say that this scary SCP is addicted to lavender. I don't make edits like these to comments I've made but it sure is a surprise to discover old comments when I go back to things I was interested in. It's also a surprise to see this many likes considering how dumb this was even if it was satire.
That lore is because old plague doctors used to shove lavendar and other good smelling things in the beaks of their masks as a primitive attempt to prevent disease through Miasma which literally translates to "bad air". They used to think the sickness was literally just in the air, not microbiotic organisms as we know today. Medicine as we know it today was just a theory back then, they didn't believe in things smaller than the eye can pick up in the air that could potentially get people sick
@@Nickster316 yes, i didnt say it didnt. I said the doctors of olde used to shove lavendar into the beaks BECAUSE it smelled good and calming. Medicine was so primitive in those days that their understanding of disease was through something called miasma or "bad air" in simple english. Although some practitioners ahead of their time thought that tiny living creatures IN the air, not the air itself, caused sicknesses. And that'd turn out to become bacteria and pathogens we know today
This is...a very interesting rewrite for 049. I actually like it more than the other rewrite. It makes him much more like a actual doctor or scientist. He seems to act much more human, more emotional and sympathetic. I of course also have to comment on the awesome voice acting and collaboration in this video. From the acting to the writing, everyone did an amazing job.
Personally I feel like that's part of the problem with the rewrite. Even under the "How to write an SCP" guide on the website it makes it very clear that humanoid or not, SCPs are anomalies and should be treated as such. I think the humanization of 049 in the rewrite definitely detracts from this aspect of it.
I think the point is that the humanoid SCP's shouldn't be humanised *by the foundation*. Having humanising elements in the interview isn't really a problem imo, as long as the article itself doesn't attempt to humanise him as well
I honestly feel bad for SCP-049... and I'm oddly drawn to him. I would love to sit and chat with him, not really to to get answers just a friendly chat...
Probably 1) because he considers his knowledge on the nature of the Pestilence to be above that of other doctors, as it’s been his sole area of study for [insert years here], so he wouldn’t take them seriously 2) they don’t want him to somehow learn how to be better at “locating” the Pestilence or making zombies
I love how the interview after Ham's death almost seem like 049s decent into madness. He is bargaining with himself, he acts as if in denial about his own actions. He more or less went through the stages of grief. Loosing what im guessing he concidered a friend and maybe for the first time secondguessing himself. Thats powerful stuff. I have nothing but praise for the Volgun on this read!!
SCP-049 seems like a tired man, desperate to find the cure, and he has been at it so long he is grasping at whatever he can find. yes his cure turns men into a mindless monsters but to him, it is good enough at this point...for those mindless monsters can no longer spread the disease...poor guy, he just wants to find the cure but he's been at it so long with so few results he is cracking, he seems legitimately sad about failing doctor ham. he seems like he is trying to convince himself that his cure is working
I feel like the “pestilence” may be the presence of “human decency” or humanity itself. It notes that the foundation has a distinct lack of ‘the pestilence’ while the outside world is over run. The foundation is notorious for their lack of care toward human life and utter uncaring for mass murder incidents
After dr hamm's death however the scp states he felt the pestilience in everyone in the building that and he'd cure them all, also calling them men of emotion not science
I had a suspicion similar to that as when you play the game and he immediately detects "the pestilence" in the character as of course we know the character was D class personnel a death row inmate.
@@joshuagraham2546 Well, in containment breach, your character is actually a researcher. He was arrested for illegal research, which some theorize is the reason for their apparent immortality.
Because Dr. Hamm and 049 were becoming friends. That’s why 049 said he felt the pestilence in Hamm. 049 was developing a bond with him, and felt it in himself. He talked about how the pestilence was sneaky and came out of nowhere. It seems he only tolerates those that are apathetic around him. Ironically, he may be breaking his own rules. By reanimating them, he is returning them to their apathetic selves. Hence his point of view on the matter.
Really can't believe I was able to get an opportunity like this. I am incredibly happy to've had a small part in this. Also I guess you could say that SCP-049 cured ham.
Crimson Lead No one really knows what The Pestilence that 049 is talking about is, and he doesn’t give you enough clues to get a solid answer. People have speculated emotion, humanity, life, fear; all sorts of stuff. The answer is *shrug whatever you want.*
I love how human 049 is. He really feels bad about what he has to do to get the "cure". He also seems to understand the effects of cure, but believes it to be the only way forward
He has a very subtle case of schizophrenia in which he honestly believes that this Pestilence is as common and relevant as oxygen; he's so devoted to curing it that it's probably driven him a bit mad. He even makes it sound like some kind of Entity, like a God of Disease; even claims to see/detect the Pestilence in people. He honestly believes he's doing the right thing with his barbaric experiments, and is definitely one of the most fascinating SCP's because he's so Human; he's intelligent, honest & charismatic, but clearly delirious & unpredictable.
Yeah, I am aware that the Bubonic Plague still exists in certain parts of the world, but it's not really a major threat as it was centuries ago. But he's convinced that people who were diagnosed as healthy like Dr Hamm was infected with it. That's what I'm mainly referring to him imagining things; he's so obsessed with the Pestilence that he thinks it's where it isn't.
The Circle of T.E.D the “Pestilence” is death. The people he attacks are dying in some way which is why the doctor attacks them, he thinks he can save them from death by turning them into a zombie
Me: O_O Oh h-hey. Look at the time. I uh, got to go wash my pet mouse and do my homework somewhere... *Laughs nervously* Bye now- *Runs away like the wind and hides in a locker like I did in middle school, and hopes that SCP-049 won't find me*
Most people pretty much suspect it's death, there's always that hint of a doubt. But most people have caught on. But that's actually interesting, considering the interviewer said Dr. Ham was in perfect health, unless he was hiding something, or on a deeper level, he grew too old and 049's respect for him did a complete override on his judgement and the realization caught him off guard.
Carter Evelyn Winggates "The disease progresses in unforeseeable ways" 049 might be able to tell almost as soon as something that will lead to death shows up in a person. For all we know, Dr. Hamm may have developed terminal cancer that hadn't been detected by a medical doctor yet.
Maybe but SCP 049 said that scp 049-2 are cured yet they still Can die a second time One thing i doubt is that they Can sufffer as they are mindless I think that scp 049 is trying to cure pain in general
He specifically denies death; he claims life and death are meaningless, amateur concepts. Pain, as normieloser69 suggested seems more plausible. The mindless creatures he ends up creating are probably incapable of processing or experiencing pain and suffering due to lower mental functions.
Dr Hamm: "Oh, you're approaching me? Even after you've been contained by The Foundation?" SCP-049: "I can't cure the disease without getting closer to you." Dr. Hamm: *slamming on the door button repeatedly* "Ohoho, then come as close as you'd like." SCP-049-2: *Angery noises*
I think the Foundation would do well to keep giving him human test subjects. D-class personnel. Let him continue improving his cure. Because I think "the Pestilence" to him is mortality itself. After hell knows how long he's been working on this cure, he might've solved the mortality part. I bet if you left an SCP-049-2 subject in a chamber of his own, he would never age, starve, get ill, anything. Now he's just perfecting the cure, trying to find a way to prevent the reanimated SCP-049-2 subjects from being mindless zombies and retain their memories/personalities.
I feel like this "Pestilence" is mortal life, from the perspective of 049. A reanimated corpse cannot feel, cannot die, cannot breed, and is then, cured of its mortality.
It’s not death. Reanimated bodies are killed by soldiers, but it says that the pestilence is neither death nor disease, only that they are cured of... whatever the pestilence is.
@@DatboiDemonX I believe the pestilence is free will. >049 presumably came from a time in history defined by mass hysteria and the darkest actions the human heart can fathom. He states it is not death or disease because it is our very sentience that leads us to kill one another either directly or indirectly in some shape or form. >The SCP Foundation is defined by its strict rules and regulations. In order to maintain order in an institution that houses and hides the most dangerous threats to mankind, its employees must be stripped of their free will as much as possible to be able to comply to proper containment. Hence, why 049 remarks that there is so little of the "pestilence" in the Foundation. >049 only kills Dr. Ham after he has formed a real friendship with him. Dr. Ham, due to this friendship, was now excercising his own will on his interviews with 049. It was no longer just about what the Foundation guided him to do that abided by their rules and regulations, but his own curiosity as well. Thus, he constracted the "pestilence." >049 remarks that animal corpses have the pestilence but only in its "nascent stage." This is important because humans are one of the only animals in the world to have what we would define as self awareness. We do not act solely on survival instinct and we perceive the world in an entirely unique way. All animals do have some form of free will, but not at the same level as humanity. It is also important to note that goats and orangutans are much more intelligent and aware than cows. >The reanimated corpses have no will of their own and only perform natural body functions that require no thought. They only act out of instinct when provoked like an animal would or if 049 directs them. Thus they are "cured" There are alot of holes in this theory though, mostly in the fact that even today we can't wholly define what "free will" exactly is and it is a topic of continuous philosophical debate, but its the best answer I could think of.
@@BadKarma444 scp 5000 would tend to back this up. Perhaps he does have a deep connection to the collective human subconscious. His cure is the same cure given to the foundation staff in scp 5000. Or, has similar effects.
God I love this rewrite. Turning 049 into a tragic figure makes him infinitely more interesting. Its so unsettling how the Pestilence is unknown too. You have to wonder whether 049 is just delusional or actually aware of something horrifying that we can't observe or comprehend.
It'd more likely be aging, or pain. He does seem to be adamant that the reanimated corpses he makes are cured, though it's not a perfect cure, and if death was the problem specifically he wouldn't have to kill them to "cure" them, nor would he refer to death and the pestilence separately.
Also, if it was just death specifically he'd see the pestilence in everyone. Could be that Dr. Hamm was starting to age more and perhaps 049 saw the beginnings of cancer or something in him that hadn't been discovered by a doctor yet. Also, there's the fact that he remarked that the SCP foundation contained so little of the pestilence to consider...so many variables.
They mention a black viscous liquid in some syringes - with that in mind, is he trying to transfuse his own blood into corpses to create more of himself...?
@@an_ordinary_goose have you ever researched the humors? you should.its a (horrible) middle ages interpretation of medicine that 049 seems to work with
It was only a few lines, but i'm amazed at how well you are able to pronounce so many different languages and dialects. You've a really talent and ought to consider voice acting.
My theory is that he is trying to cure depression. Think about it; depression is invisible to everyone and thousands of people have died from it, the zombie boi's have hightened endorphines, Dr. Hamm and possibly anyone else could be a sufferer, and depression isn't easy to explain which could be why it's unknown to everyone except 049, and why he expects everyone to know and can't seem to explain what it is.
This is a rewrite done right! It takes the interesting part of the original and puts in more in focus while removing the contradictions. And I absolutely loved that SCP-049 was sad that Dr Hamm died. Seriously, props to the writer, well done!
It makes the plague doctor almost look like a good willed guy who feels misunderstood and tries to help. Even if his methods are pretty much butchery and reanimation. Still interesting :D
I think I have an idea of what this might be. I think the pestilence is hate-fueled violence. Like he said, "it has a way of creeping up on the unprepared." Hatred for something can lead to violence very quickly and suddenly, and the person affected often doesn't realise that they aren't thinking straight. Also, he mentions that there is little inside the facility, which rules out death because there are hundreds D-class dying every day. Since the creatures he creates are mindless and empty, they are incapable of being driven to act on hate, because they can't even feel hatred. They only become violent in defence of their creator. And, violence based on hate is definitely something worth spending years trying to cure, seeing as it's caused many wars and massacres. It also makes sense that the pestilence is spread merely by existing, because hate-fueled violence only leads others to behave the same way. Edit: fixed a few typos
Aesha I’ve seen this theory floating around. It might not be one of the most popular theories as to what the Pestilence is, but it’s easily one of my favorites.
Kind of a counter to what you said about it being death, it might be biological death that he is trying to cure. The d classes are dying due to outside factors, but if they were left alone with food and water, they would still eventually die. If he means cureing biological death, people who are left alone with food and or water will never die. 049 instances cannot die unless affected by the foundation (incineration).

I feel for you mate. You are literally trying so hard to cure death that it's breaking your mind. 049-2's being imperfect cures since they reanimate only the body but not the mind.
Well, I wouldn't really say cold. This rewrite makes him a lot more human. He shows genuine emotion. Sadness, happiness, anger, and near the end he gets anxious and fearful.

I feel like he’s very conflicted, and is starting to question himself. The way he’s pausing and thinking in between sentences, I wonder if even he knows the full extent of the pestilence.
I'm surprised it was good. Thank god they didn't make him hostile, and doubly thank god they didn't blatantly make the pestilence life or something. Yes... Very good.
The pestilence is death. That's why he did what he did to hamm. If I were to guess he most likely has the ability to sense when someone is close to death or has an ability to sense that they are going to die soon. So that's why he saw Hamm as "sick" suddenly when he was fine other days. And I think thats also the reason the foundation wouldn't consider him keter. Because he actually does have good intentions. 049-2's are expirements in which he tries to bring back the body and the mind. But always fails to bring back the mind. That's what he meant when he said that he caught the pestilence early in Hamm. He knew he was going to die so he did what he did to prevent it. Hamm was "cured" because he was no longer going to die the way he was going to before. Edit: and as the file stated, he showed frustration and remorse whenever he killed someone with his touch. Because it's the exact opposite of what he's trying to cure.
Brent Boomer That's what I was thinking, but it's still shaky considering he can clearly speak about death. If it was just that, wouldn't he be able to outright say The Pestilence is death? Perhaps it's something or a concept related to death.
I love SCP 049! He's the best SCP there could ever be. He doesn't cuss. He's actually quite respectful. His cure IS the most effective. He's always right about that!
SCP-049 himself seems to believe he himself is cured. This makes me think that with that his odd physiology and bodily augmentation is part of "the cure". It seems likely he was operated on in such a fashion and is trying to replicate the result. Though I believe veritable centuries of failure have deprived him quite a bit.
@@latrellmcknight2059 Yes, That is right. There are other plague doctors just like him, but I am not sure if those plague doctors wish to turn others into zombies.
So my take on SCP-049 is that the ‘pestilence’ it is referring to is death itself. It reanimates corpses and then calls them cured, because the re animated can’t die due to age (probably, we haven’t seen an SCP-049-2 subject allowed to continue to live) Doctor ham in the recording sounded like he was pretty old, and his death might have been on its way. That’s why 49 reacted, it wanted to cure him before his time actually came. Wasn’t a very good explanation but that’s my take.

It's hinted that SCP 049 to some extent was capable of performing some level of healing centuries ago. But it's believed the traumatic experience of the black death across Europe drove him insane.
Scp 035 hints at this and how he watched his friend slowly started acting more unnatural
That sounds rlly sad
I thought the idea was he believed sapient life was a "disease" and that's why the people he "cured" became zombies.
Just as a general reminder, neither the official SCP-035 or SCP-049 documents mention an interaction between to the two. How cannon is this?
I love how tragic this rewrite is. It's honestly like a bunch of other SCPs that have these non-human moral compasses, working in ways we don't understand or comprehend, and it fits into the horror theme of the foundation than just "WOOO SCARY".
It's a healing herb.
@@Crona858 Lavender extract does actually have calming properties.
But they just did :)
The voice acting really adds to the human aspect of this SCP.
Not to mention it uses the idea of him trying to cure the pestilence more. Makes him seem like he does want to help.
Morgan Gobin SCP-049 is my favorite SCP and now this us what I will always think of his voice like that
I think the point is that the humanoid SCP's shouldn't be humanised *by the foundation*. Having humanising elements in the interview isn't really a problem imo, as long as the article itself doesn't attempt to humanise him as well
I honestly feel bad for SCP-049... and I'm oddly drawn to him. I would love to sit and chat with him, not really to to get answers just a friendly chat...

Undercover Gamer i doubt money is one of the foundations concerns considering they have one of the best accountants in all of fiction
mc bad robot voice it’s a joke about collage textbooks being expensive. The fact that I have to state that is well,
Probably
1) because he considers his knowledge on the nature of the Pestilence to be above that of other doctors, as it’s been his sole area of study for [insert years here], so he wouldn’t take them seriously
2) they don’t want him to somehow learn how to be better at “locating” the Pestilence or making zombies
Undercover Gamer and i was making a joke about the accounting scp, the fact that i have to state that is well
I love how the interview after Ham's death almost seem like 049s decent into madness. He is bargaining with himself, he acts as if in denial about his own actions. He more or less went through the stages of grief. Loosing what im guessing he concidered a friend and maybe for the first time secondguessing himself. Thats powerful stuff.

Justin Griffith I think he might be referring to death it's self being pestilence, but it's hard to tell.
The way he is now happened during the time when he was traveling with 035
I feel like the “pestilence” may be the presence of “human decency” or humanity itself.
@@declanedmison5442 oh snap I had no idea I always thought they was d class personel bless for the knowledge bro :)
Hence his point of view on the matter.

cured hams
I believe he can actually predict deaths, because if you replace pestilence with death, it makes a lot of sense.

Oh my Broken God.
He's trying to cure... death. Dr. Hamm was dying.
Carter Evelyn Winggates "The disease progresses in unforeseeable ways"
049 might be able to tell almost as soon as something that will lead to death shows up in a person.
For all we know, Dr. Hamm may have developed terminal cancer that hadn't been detected by a medical doctor yet.
Maybe but SCP 049 said that scp 049-2 are cured yet they still Can die a second time
One thing i doubt is that they Can sufffer as they are mindless
I think that scp 049 is trying to cure pain in general
Yeah, right? He said he wanted to cure p... It could be p-lague, but it could be p-ain.
He specifically denies death; he claims life and death are meaningless, amateur concepts. Pain, as normieloser69 suggested seems more plausible. The mindless creatures he ends up creating are probably incapable of processing or experiencing pain and suffering due to lower mental functions.

I believe it's free will, the zombies have mortality as they can die, but the zombies don't have free will
It would be a better way to dispose of those d-class that survive and need to be terminated.
What about the facility be very absent of the pestilence?
Templar Knight I don’t think there is a definite answer.
Zuriel 883 Give him criminals to test on
I feel like this "Pestilence" is mortal life, from the perspective of 049. A reanimated corpse cannot feel, cannot die, cannot breed, and is then, cured of its mortality.
It’s not death. Reanimated bodies are killed by soldiers, but it says that the pestilence is neither death nor disease, only that they are cured of... whatever the pestilence is.
It's definitely not mortality. Or, if it is, he seems to think that quite a few of the research personnel are immortal
Thus, he constracted the "pestilence."
>049 remarks that animal corpses have the pestilence but only in its "nascent stage." This is important because humans are one of the only animals in the world to have what we would define as self awareness.
Thus they are "cured"
There are alot of holes in this theory though, mostly in the fact that even today we can't wholly define what "free will" exactly is and it is a topic of continuous philosophical debate, but its the best answer I could think of.
@@BadKarma444 scp 5000 would tend to back this up. Perhaps he does have a deep connection to the collective human subconscious. His cure is the same cure given to the foundation staff in scp 5000. Or, has similar effects.

SCP ILLUSTRATED hello
God I love this rewrite. Turning 049 into a tragic figure makes him infinitely more interesting. Its so unsettling how the Pestilence is unknown too. You have to wonder whether 049 is just delusional or actually aware of something horrifying that we can't observe or comprehend.
The pestilence is most likely death, however the idea that it’s a disease we have no way of comprehending is awesome nonetheless, and terrifying.
If it was death 049 wouldn't be so upset about getting animal corpses.
I'm starting to think more and more that it's morality.

One thing we know is that the animated bodies are considered cured to him.
Both. If he had cured the pestilence, Dr. Hamm would not have died.
I Mean, he does want to help but he is just not very good with figuring out the correct cure.
I like your theory!
Aesha I’ve seen this theory floating around. It might not be one of the most popular theories as to what the Pestilence is, but it’s easily one of my favorites.
Morgan Gobin what are the other theories
Kind of a counter to what you said about it being death, it might be biological death that he is trying to cure. The d classes are dying due to outside factors, but if they were left alone with food and water, they would still eventually die. If he means cureing biological death, people who are left alone with food and or water will never die. 049 instances cannot die unless affected by the foundation (incineration).

If anyone deserves to voice 049, it’s Volgun. I’m so glad that his interpretation is considered canon.
049 : *REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
Armed guard : * shoves herbs used for plague doctor mask in his face *
049 : an that reminds of good times
I think it's a reference to how plague doctors would stuff lavender in their masks so they wouldn't have to smell rotting corpses
I've always really liked SCP-049, but I always thought the concept of it was way better than the actual execution. Now I can confidently say both have been done marvelously. I love this re-write for SCP-049, as well as your voice for him. Good job sir. You have more than earned yourself a new sub.
He didnt voice him, thats from the page itself
@@Elith- have you watched the video? He literally says how proud he is that his voice acting got accepted by the site
BewegteBilderrahmen
Wow didnt know he was the one who voiced them, thats really cool.
That's me.
I feel for you mate. You are literally trying so hard to cure death that it's breaking your mind. 049-2's being imperfect cures since they reanimate only the body but not the mind.
Also, I'm rooting for you to get your stick back.
SCP- 049 i love you then
Have you cured that pestilence yet?
Dood they they made a shitty fortnite skin out of you
No one:

How long before Netflix or Amazon Prime get their heads on straight and make an SCP series!?
Ginger Ninja Netflix would ruin everything with their shit scripts and acting
they would shove interracial couples down your throat the entire time
Ginger Ninja not like one big movie like a series of short films. Take the tests of any SCP good material right there
Blue spy Bro chill. Interracial couples exist.
Ginger Ninja look up prestilence 2020 it’s a movie about this scp it’s being filmed just now
This version seems to keep to the original idea better than other rewrites, while improving it greatly.
Good, because this the new canon 049

049 is one of my favorites. Love the guy. He seems pretty sympathetic actually.
Really happy your voice for him is canon! It captures that cold logical unnerving feel that 49 has perfectly.
Well, I wouldn't really say cold. This rewrite makes him a lot more human. He shows genuine emotion. Sadness, happiness, anger, and near the end he gets anxious and fearful.
It's kind of sad how scp-049 is trying to convince himself that killing Hamm was the right thing to do...
Oh yay! I’m so glad you put this up!!! Dr. Theron Sherman approves enthusiastically.
Thanks for your help dude - you, cimmerian, kaktus and jade are all credited in the video and the description.
Ham x 049 wit a relationship but 49 made him ham......

049 sounds like a person now. A very interesting person
HE CANT HEAL MY PHYSICAL PESTILENCE BUT HE HEALED MY SOUL WITH THAT VOICE
Me: *hears his voice*
Also me: WAAAAAIT A DANG MINUTE-
Scp 049 seeing the corona virus and saying “I warned u”
I like this rewrite.
Marc13Bautista I miss the old one a bit, but the way it adds more details without retconning the original is something I appreciate
The change to France makes a bit more sense historically though so I don't mind it
As opposed to the shit keter rewrite, this is leagues better
CheshireSmileGaming Ü yeah, it also removed his interaction with 035
We all do

I love SCP-049. As a man of science myself, particularly pathology, I would love to see this guy work and listen to his findings. Best SCP
Definitely I find the idea of a supernatural creature that is just like us neat, trying to help that is it is very interesting

Yes... Very good.

Rip Hamm
Press F to pay respect

That's what I was thinking, but it's still shaky considering he can clearly speak about death. If it was just that, wouldn't he be able to outright say The Pestilence is death? Perhaps it's something or a concept related to death.
049's voice is perfect ♡♡ I love how you give these life
Trifectum not to mention Volgun IS the voice actor of Our Favorite SCP in the Game.
Maybe the pestilence is the friends we made along the way?
I love SCP 049! He's the best SCP there could ever be. He doesn't cuss. He's actually quite respectful. His cure IS the most effective. He's always right about that!

SCP-049 himself seems to believe he himself is cured. This makes me think that with that his odd physiology and bodily augmentation is part of "the cure". It seems likely he was operated on in such a fashion and is trying to replicate the result.
Though I believe veritable centuries of failure have deprived him quite a bit.
Unless he is a god of some sort like the deer in which case he is likely unaffected by it in the first place
@@thecacklinggoblin1452 I'm pretty sure he's immortal and was granted it by the brothers death
If it was death, then why say that so few at the facility had? Why not test this theory with SCP-963 or others that can't be killed?

Maybe start with the starter set or Essential kits, they both have good adventures and are written in order to help beginners out; guiding them through the process.
Plus, they are very good value for money, so a great way to get started and see how much you like the game before investing too much money in the books...
