Thank you for rescuing the chickens, are you sure it isn't too hot in the brick house for them. OMG that was too funny on how the chicken went right back to the coop. Great video. Love from NY.
We have made some modifications to allow ventilation and other shaded areas. However we have now also let them out in to the garden as well and they are settling in really well! Thanks for watching from NY!!
My brother had three chickens, Olga, Vera and Ellen. They all lived in an old outhouse with a ramp to get in an out of a window where they'd rest and lay their eggs, and had free range of the garden and a sand bath which they loved. Interestingly they all chose to sleep in the lilacs at night and he let them. It looked very funny when the lilacs were in bloom. They became very social and loved to sit in your lap and get scratches. He grated left over cheese for them and he only ever had to yell "cheese" and they'd all come running wherever they were, they loved their cheese scraps lol 😂💕 Thanks for saving them to a good life. After laying eggs for humsns for years, you'd think they earned the right to not be eaten themselves.
@@LifeinLaCampagne great names to ey? That was many years ago. Other name suggestions for your three ladies: Daisy, Lily & Marigold, (flowers) Judy, Maggie & Helen (thesbian dames), Fleur, Margaux & Celeste (befitting French ladies), Edwina (Eddie), Patsy & Saffy (from Absolutely Fabulous) Poppy, Pippa & Pearl (because why not?) 😁 💕🐔
Oh!!! Thank you for saving 3 chickens 🥰 Already you have an escape artist 😂 silly chicken. They will be happy with y’all and they will look better in no time. Not sure what your able to dust them with but they may need a good dusting for mites. Good to see you and we’ll see you again soon ✌️
Hi, enjoy your rescues, ours were 18months, we had them 2 years and they were great personalities and much loved until they died. We have now got a brahma hen lily, a bluebell called lucy and a french black copper maran named Holly. I would really recommend the eglu go up, we have one and its thick plastic and we have a side door opener called hentronix, which opens and closes at dusk and dawn, by solar panel or connected to the mains. Yes they are expensive but time saving and keep your hens safe. You can get the eglu cube if you have 4 big hens, and there are other plastic houses on the market just as good. Like the others if the hens are housed in wood, dust them regularly for red mite. Mine have never ever had it.
Very unhealthy chicken coop , i suppose better than the slaughter house , they can rooster on only one stick the other one is againg the wall does not give them room . Suffocating house realy
Thanks for your comments, just to reassure you, I did add extra ventilation and there was plenty of room for them all to rooster. On top of all that they only stayed in there for a week or two before I moved them in to the main bigger coop. 😊
👋👍❤️

Thanks for advice👍 I will have a look at the eglu range.
@@LifeinLaCampagne I can send you some photos of my set up if it will help you.
Is there enough ventilation for the chicken coop? Looks like it could be very hot inside
Yes I have added ventilation but that’s a good point!
Be careful of Rescue chickens ours had red mites nightmare to get rid of.
👍
Good point 👍
Chickens are easy, you could have put them in a cardboard box for a temporary home. It won’t be long before they join your flock.
Yep they have joined in now which is great to see!!
