Bring back the beavers and we bring back the water, bring back the salmon, bring back the forest.
I know an old timer that trapped beavers for many a farmer in IL. His advice was to trap them all before you bust the dam. You'll be able to pattern them better. And when you think you've got them all, leave your traps for another week cause there's always one more!
Of course, you're describing Adam's Curse: once we started managing something we have ended up managing everything!

They are incredible engineers. They know ahead of time how high the water table,
will be. And for Miles thru valleys and around ridges, they will build berms to contain the flooding they create. *Beaver the unappreciated watershed managers.

Those olive trees get feasted upon eagerly by the goats. I can see enough of the stronger branches remain after being leaned on so some shade will happen later in summer. Yup, very nice invasive.

I would also put out a supplementary mineral block so they have access to magnesium which would help reduce grass staggers in the cattle and or sheep.
Our 16 hole cafeteria style mineral feeder has a individual hole for magnesium. Cows can select how much they need each day.

I'm pretty new to all this, and I'm not doing it, but I'm a huge supporter and donator to various regenerative organizations, plus I've been buying grass-fed and pasture-raised products now for several months. Who knew they were so delicious!? Well, I suppose the growers do. :)
To Greg, what happens to all the hair that gets shed off the cows? Does it get incorporated into the soil somehow? Is it a good addition to the soil? What nutrients does it add?

We do see mushrooms occasionally growing out of older manure piles. Not eating those.
