    With a house full of family who each love different ice cream flavors. I can see this as a way for each person to whip up their own combination. It looks fab! Can't wait to mix up some. I think I'll try mine with some lime on a hot summer day

    • @AngelDust2383
      @AngelDust2383 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andreas Latsias If you like avocados, try that. I use those when I can't find ripe bananas for smoothies and it gives the same texture as bananas does since they're both creamy. Might change the colour a bit but if tastes good, whatever, lol. I'm no chef though, so just an idea.

    Quick question....how much of the banana can you taste in this? I don't mind banana but really don't like it when you can really taste it.

    • @TheASMRAngel
      @TheASMRAngel 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Nina Marie O I bought some things today to make it but switched cherries for raspberries and strawberries as the shop didn't have any in

      sadly if you don't like bananas the bananas are the most important part, they are what give it the ice cream texture. you can always add stronger tasting fruits if it tastes too strong for you. my husband is allergic to bananas and i've tried so many substitutes but none have worked

    I really love the approach you take emphasising the nutritional facts of the products you use, I'm not a vegan but I'm sure I'll enjoy this treat.
    I'll give you a little idea: you can make this ice cream without the cherries and adding instead some dulce de leche made with almond milk and a few toasted walnuts, it'll not be the lightest thing ever but it'll be amazing.

    I use a stick blender to make this for my young kids...it handles the job pretty well as long as there is a little fluid, either chilled apple juice for a sorbet like texture, coconut milk, milk or yoghurt for an ice-cream texture. I have several types of frozen fruits and make them 'ice cream' anytime of day...I also make healthy smoothies/milkshakes for them by adding more milk and a handful of oats :)

    I actually did this the other day before I saw this video. However I used frozen raspberries instead and it was SO good, but I'll definitely try cherries too! :) Also, I didn't let the coconut cream freeze completely (just under an hour in the freezer) and it blended quite easily, which a smooth and creamy consistency!

    I tried this last night. I couldn't get my hands on cherry's (fresh or frozen) so I used blueberry's and the juice of 1 lemon to give it a little kick (not that it was too citrus-ie) but it was great, I will definitely do it again and try the cherry version as well.

    I think pure coconut milk would work better, the one which comes right from the nut (you can get it with a juicer). Because generaly you don't get the "whole stuff" in a canned coconut milk, like the fat for example and there is often a water percentage in it.

    I made something similar today but in my vitamix. In my house we have frozen mixed fruit in ziploc bags that we just add to our smoothies, and then if we don't drink all the smoothie we put it back in the ziploc, re-freeze it and just re-blend it later. I used one of the already made re-frozen smoothies, some frozen bananas, some coconut milk but I didn't freeze it, and some coconut flavored non-dairy yogurt (almond yogurt because it was cheaper than all the other non-dairy yogurts) and I didn't freeze that either. I called it ice cream but it was more like if a smoothie and ice cream had a baby for lack of a better description. Anyway I'm not a very good cook so I can guarantee Tim's would be way better but mine came out nicely. Very creamy because of the banana and the yogurt but I could still really taste the other fruits. Next time I'm thinking of adding some chia seeds in there just for extra health benefits.

    I really want to try this, but I don't think my blender is all that powerful, and neither do I have a food processor. Could I possibly add a splash of unfrozen coconut milk into the whole mixture so that my blender wouldn't self-destruct? Or are there any other possibilities? Thanks!

      I tried this recipe with a blender that is able to crush ice but i still added a little unfrozen coconut milk like you mentioned just to be sure. I think that should work. Try not to run the blender for long, sort of "pulse" it. It's delicious!
