well it is good. obviously there are achievement hunters who love steam points. if u save enough up u can get free games.
even for the non achievement hunters, the achievements give u goal to work toward in the game. plus , as a predominantly single player game with no irl competition, it’s fun to see how many achievements u can get compared to other players

I like achievements on ironman mode, but I also think this is a good change overall. No need to mess up one little mistake and boom achievment opportunity flies by. Ironman mode is just for the hardcore players honestly.

100% agree especially with the change in focus for ck3 from strategy to more storytelling

They could easily get a best of both worlds, by having one or two hard core (like 3 mountains) achievement locked behind ironman.

Mods thing is insane. Normally I was speedrunning the achievements after the updates, to can play my games with 35+ mods again. Now i can chill playing the game with cool mods while get my 100% achivements. But I still use Iron Man for the achievements, because the challenge.

The system is still janky the tno mod on vic 3 gave me the play from 1836 to 1936 achievement immediately because the mod is scripted to take place in the 1970s I think

Also if you can get achievements in non ironman mode then the achievements become even more worthless

I think it's going along with the ck3 design difference from their other games, being more about tell your story with the achievements being more a way to direct the storytelling. Though I do see how this could frustrate strategy players.

Yea it goes against the term achievement, of course having a cosmetic mod and not getting achievements is annoying and needs a solution but achievement are meant to be normative challenges that are consistent for all to test each other against. It is why they locked it behind ironman in the first place because the original dude who designed it understood this.

I think this is pretty good thing. I feel like Ironman is really restricting with the mods you can use and still get achievements (more so than CK2)

@@cat_city2009 All ironman mode does is remove saves and i dont think save scumming is super fun, If your favorite heir dies in battle then that’s life in the meadieval times mate. Agree about the mods tho but i dont have a problem turning off mods if there is an achivement i want to get. I think it’s equally satisfying beating the game the way the developers intended every once in a while.

@@cat_city2009 Ironman Mode is not too hard and I feel CK3 is kinda made for it. Can't say I haven't ever scummed myself but on the rare occasion that happens Task Manager is your friend.
