FYI. Cilla, I feel you when you said you are a light sleeper. They make something called “Loops” which are noise cancelling earbuds! These are what my son uses when we are in the community and he doesn’t want to wear the large headphones. Just wanted to give you a suggestion to help you in times like this on the ship! Looking forward to the vids from the cruise. 😊
I was on Mariner of the Seas last November and we had Autism On The Seas aboard. I was able to speak with a nice volunteer about how to join the program, and they gave me the information. One thing I learned from the volunteer was is that they had to pay their own way on the cruise to help families, like yours, enjoy their vacation.
@@sarahgreenleaf514 There might have been a misunderstanding. They don’t pay for their cruise, that is covered by AOTS. The only part of traveling they would have to pay for is getting to the cruise terminal.

I went to coco cay last year at the same time. We were fine, but a few people got stings from jelly fish. By the time we left the island, there were 10s of thousands of jellies for at least a 10 mile radius
I was on that ship!! It's so big, and it was 100% full!! The first day boarding the ship, going to the muster drill, trying to get an elevator is exhausting! Love to see Abby dancing at he sail away!! Have a blast you all!!
My last cruise was 7 yrs ago it was a birthday cruse for me and my oldest sister we are 9 yrs apart but there are 3 kids between us I’m #5. I went the Mexican route like you all are doing due to the hurricane. At one stop we learn to make chocolate Bars. It was so much fun. I’m bedridden now that happened after my last cruise with 3 trips to the ER in nine weeks crazy. Hope you guys have a blast 💥.
@FatheringAutism is the whole ship for autistic families or is it mixed. Id love to do something like this for my son but I’d be nervous for someone with bad intentions being around my nonverbal child.
The water looks so pretty with the ship moving and I think when you walked on to the ship it looks like a big mall I never been on a cruise but on your void that is what it looks like 😊have fun on trip Abbie and family

Would Abbie wear a cross body bag with her ipad in it? It would free up her hands. It could help prevent dropping it or leaving it, which I know she never does (I would). She could always leave it on her while she works on a project.

What’s hip are you on? Long time cruiser with royal Caribbean and Celebrity, they always had the best children/teen activities that helped make this ADHDer feel more welcome. I don’t think they had much autism awareness back in the 90’s That is so cool!!!
What happened to your personal boat back in Jacksonville? And did you ever see Crazy Grannie again? Would love to see if Abby would remember her. One more thing lol, you should do some art with Abby. Not only painting but gluing "jewels" on it after wherever she wants or feathers, stars, etc. and offer her art as prizes like you use to. She could paint birdhouses and such.
