Hi Engineer! New subscriber here from Houston, Texas. I'm planning to retire in Philippines and I'm wondering if Fiber cement boards and metal studs are good enough to stand the weather. I prefer it coz I want my side walls to be insulated. Can you tell me if I can save more on this including insulation? Thanks!
For external walls you can use 150 mm LGS profile, fiber cement boards cladding and non autoclaved lightweight aerated concrete infill www.pioner-group.com/technology
It depends on what infill you use and how you fix them. I wouldn't use word "always" but appreciate your point of view and most probably your bad experience

fibre cement board always cracks in LGS structure- especially if you use a single layer. Not suggested.
