- How I build this MATO all Metal King Tiger 1/16th scale RC Tank from start to finish for a customer in the US!
Also on a how to operate this tank with the TK40S board and the FSi6S radio.
Thanks for the infotorial Stanlley. I have two Mato and they are wonderful things, especially during curfews and lockdowns.
TWo issues I find with the Mato is firstly the internal wiring is fragile and does need reenforcing with tiny amounts of epoxy (or solder) at the plug/ jack.
Secondly The rear idlers on all of them seem to be under-engineered -- first thing I do is remove the idlers and replace the spindle with something larger and more durable.
One other thing -- it is worthwhile placing the tank off the ground, get the thing running and pour copious amounts of locksmith's graphite powder into the tracks as they slowly rotate. Make absolutely sure none of the graphite gets inside the machine, its strictly tracks only. It makes a mess so you need to place newspaper underneath to do this.
A very impressive model Stan, and I have the out-of-the-box version which is great also. I would like to mention something that I have noticed about your camouflage application if I may; and that is that the base coat on the real tanks was red-oxide, with other colours later added in patterns over that, often in the field (usually yellow and green). Therefore, the plum colour camouflage that you seem to have added should in fact be plain red oxide, for historical accuracy. The reason for this was simply because all supplies late in the war in Germany were desperately low, or simply unavailable. My father repaired them late in the war so I think that this information is true. The King-Tiger (number 232) captured in the Ardennes was a typical example of this, and had all-over Oxide with green and yellow added later. I hope my comments are purely seen as being constructive for historical accuracy, nothing more. Many thanks.

dam that is one beauty of a king tiger, i am especially impressed with your camo and the sound. not so much the volume of the sound but that you can hear a spent shell hit the tank floor. this is truly impressive. the only things i would have changed is i would have added muzzle flash and barrel smoke.. but that is truly a beast

Just bought one, I am having issues with it only taking wide turns and neutral turns though. Doesn't like to do tight turns

I'm considering getting one of these Mato KTs myself, and I'd like to model a vehicle that's sat in the woods for 90 years before being drug out of its grave.
Your comments about it rusting have me thinking that I could achieve my desired look by simply leaving it outside with a little brine solution on the hull and just let it paint itself!
Also wondering...how would you go about getting a Clark TK-series board to play nice with a Futaba radio system? I already tried once with a TK80 and ended up pissing away nearly 1/3rd of a paycheck on a board that didn't do what the description told me it would do(IE work with SBus) and when I tried to get help from the community, seller(which was not you) I was basically told 'fuck off and buy a FrSky radio'.

Just received my upgraded heng long panzer 3 H. It is a pretty small battery compartment. I am hoping to find a better than stock battery that will fit it. Any suggestions?
Yes we have 1300mah Lipo batteries that fits perfectly.
When you painted the top hull, how did you remove all of the tools and accessories? They're glued on pretty good.

Acetone will soften the glue if you want to remove parts.
Do all if the kits come with that storage container?

@@StanlleyLegion I would like the whole job; Taigen Panther G kit ( with no electronics), but metal wheels, tracks, idlers, sprockets, barrel and brake muzzle, ball-bearings and turret, Flysky i6s radio, tank to have either ibu, el mod or Clark board for best sound and functions such as: cannon (high intensity) flash, smoke and recoil, 2 different mg sounds, German commands shouted out, accurate engine sounds, accurate recoil motion, ejecting spent cartridges, German songs, enhanced speaker, smoking exhaust, lights, adjustable track tensioners, easily removable upper hull and turret, 360 rotation, opening hatches and easily accessible on/off switch. Please, if you can, give me an approximate figure less shipping.
I have Heng Long m1a2 tank for over 6yrs.. the gears are not working well anymore... How much will it cost to change the gearbox n such.. including the speaker.. tq

Really nice work. Is there any benefit to using any of the other Clark boards, or is the Tk40S fine for this model? They make so many now!
there is the upgraded TK50S now- the TK40 was fragile and we had 30-40% failure rates.

What clips did you fit to the upper hull to tidy the wiring?
I just use shrink tubing and superglue it on and put the wires thru
This is my favourite King Tiger so far. How did you remove the track guards from the Mato model? Do they unscrew or must they be ground off?

the kit comes with a allen bolt made into a tiny socket to unscrew the tiny bolts used for the mud guards.

more durable and sounds great, but details are not as accurate
@@StanlleyLegion but I can paint and put some details on Mato isn’t it? The only thing that makes difference is the tamiya has accurate details and comes with only a kit not RTR, but Mato comes with RTR or kit
