  • Project update video for this 1/6th scale Armortek RC German WWII King Tiger heavy tank model. This build is for Private commission and belongs to a private collector. The model was procured by the customer in a virgin state and was sent to me for the full construction.
    This build video is part of a series that will have continual updates until the end of the project at it's completion.
    In this video I apply the tank markings, weathering, and mount on the track for the last time

    I really wish I could optain one of these tiger II tank RCs. They are so cool and ominous!
    Me and my dad watch these and he really likes the way that it's built and painted

    This is the type of stuffed used in movies as practical effects. Excellent work!

    In would prefer chemical weathering. I did this to all my 1:16 rc tanks and the tracks look great. The only thing you have to figure out is the alloy an then you can choose the proper chemicals. The results are awesome and lasting.

      Yeah I’m not a fan of that method

    Well John I liked the paint job before, now it's absolutely mint!!
    Hopefully the guy with negative it's not a real paint job can still appreciate the skill involved in you're work.
    T34 next?

      Yeah after this is full speed ahead on the T34. That one should be wrapped relatively quickly once I focus in on it

    a ultrasonic cleaner would be good for cleaning the tracks to get the pins and everything clean

    • @oddball759mm
      @oddball759mm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's a bit overkill and you would need a really large ultrasonic cleaner for these tracks. In the end it's just not needed and the garden hose does the job just fine as you can see

    You really did a great job, personally I'm find the big stencilled numbers on the turret too neat and tidy nevertheless I'm impressed with your Königtiger 👍👍👍👍

    • @oddball759mm
      @oddball759mm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean it's literally applied the same way as the real ones so I don't know what more your looking for. I presume you can be a little more loose with the overspray protection or the touching up but other than that there is nothing much more you can do to apply the markings ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

      @@oddball759mm please, I'm not criticising you and your workmanship at all, quite the opposite! The only known Königtiger in almost mint condition including the painting and having the stencilled numbers on the turret outlined yellow and red but was pulled out in the open together with most of its AFV, cannons and whatever irremediably left to rot. Please continue with your very interesting videos 👍👍👍

      @@oddball759mm it's okay as no harm is done and I follow very often your videos. Honestly I'm bit a freak of German tanks 🤪. I'm an Italian so my English grammar sometimes a bit strange...

      I don't post prices on customer builds on comment sections sorry, but I will say that The starter kit alone costs about $5,000.00 USD.

    What is the weight of this beautiful kit? You did a great job, and as a 1:35 scale modeler i am drooling over this.

    • @oddball759mm
      @oddball759mm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it comes in about 250 ~ 350 lbs

  • @mikecooper8462

    Can the tracks be soaked in a burnishing liquid to give them a realistic color?

    • @oddball759mm
      @oddball759mm  ปีที่แล้ว

      the paint does a better job as the real tracks had a protective coating IRL that looks more like the paint than the burnishing liquid trick

  • @Berzilla

    looks good ,what did that cost? what type of RC motor is it using ?

    • @oddball759mm
      @oddball759mm  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a large industrial motor. I go over this info in an earlier video, that can be found on this build's playlist
