@@waynetowers5046 didn't Brent have a dig at their label relatively recently about them making shit money despite being signed to a major and playing huge shows. I wonder if they took a shit contract before the Hunter so need to do all this stuff to top up
I pair my Super Duchess with the Super Kraken V4 Preamp... a great pedal platform with the crystal cleans of the Duchess, and then you can switch to the Kraken preamp to totally bypass the Duchess for the Kraken's articulate high gain.
Think about how fat and low Mastodon used to be. Their tone keeps needing to get higher and clearer with every iteration, like it’s in line with ageing hearing loss or something haha. Coming from someone with a similar issue. Always loved the dry Kraken tone though and tried to fake it on my helix. Still waiting and hoping for them to add an official one in there.
A mid-heavy tone is gonna cut through a live mix better, cause bass and kick already fill up the low end of the spectrum especially for the arpeggiated/technical parts they play, you need that clarity and articulation
Super kraken owner here. Love my amp ❤ I just use a empress paraeq deluxe in the look sometimes , depends on the cabinet. Super kraken with engl pro 4x12 is extremely tasty.
Part of me was surprised to see this. Bill has a four thousand dollar signature amp with Friedman. At the same time, just about every guitar freak on Earth likes to play on more than one amp so it doesn't necessarily make him some kind of bullshit artist just because he too enjoys more than one amp. Ye Ole comment section police are always going to do what they do I guess.
Why? Maybe Victory gave him a better deal or he likes them better? People switch jobs all the time, an endorsement for a guitar player isn't that much different.
He might be with both, some companies like ESP, Aristedes, and even sometimes Jackson will have artists they let play other stuff, hell, even though all these companies are owned by one, Jim Root has now been seeing playing Jackson recently, Charvel, and Fender, even in 2019 he had a Gibson on tour
Any reasons why Victory Amplifiers CLEAN channel is better than a Fender Clean channel when using humbuckers? More Headroom high plate voltages or High capacitance values for the filter capacitors giving a tighter clean tone?
I think he is not under "contract" with anyone at this point but I think he still has his Friedman deal. Maybe this will help me sell my Kraken V1 lunchbox head haha. Great sounding amp but not having a presence knob for me really didnt work . V2 Clean channel sounds much better as well.
Hi, Tony. Has the Maserati evaporated all that good money? Just one thing, had the real Leo to like oyster and mussels like graphene?! I don't know. Namastè.
If I was in his position or any pro musician’s position to have sig gear, I’d at least be honest and just say…there’s a lot of cool gear out there, I get bored after a tour cycle and people will build one for me, so I wanted to try something else….The talk of “this is the best yet, or gets me what I’ve always strived for” is always such crap. Especially when their sound has basically been the same for most of their career, with changes in studios and recording styles having more impact than anything. Same goes for Lynch and Mustaine, endorsee whoring specialists..😂
Horses for courses I guess , Bill is a great player and seems like a really cool dude but not a guitar sound I’d use . But I’m a 70/80’s hard rock/metal kind of guy , maybe just the way he had the amp set but sounds soul less character less however you want to put it . Perhaps that’s the intention with modern heavy rock , I’m old so maybe that’s the issue 🤔🤣
Biill's sound sits between a high gain, super trebley sound from B. Hinds and the low tide rumblings of Troy Sanders' bass AND they have 3 singers. So his gained up sound is tight to the point it doesn't sing out, just chops away. His clean sound is pretty great by most measurements.
They need to give bill a Signature amp so they can call it the Victory Leviathan
you give them idea without royalty bro
Good idea but an amp with that name already exist. And it kicks ass too
This is literally going to happen. I’m 100% positive.
@@brightfalls6788 they probably won’t called it Leviathan though. Redseven amps already has one named that.

Well Bill seems to have great taste wherever he goes 😂
Hi my name is Bill and I write the sickest, heaviest riffs that have ever existed. In fact my riffs have their own number on the periodic table.
Bill is a master of brutal riffs.
Bill at victory wow.
"Hi, my name is Bill Kelliher and I have a PhD in riffing."
I can watch this guy jam out Drop A riffs for hours.
George Lynch said, anybody can dial in a decent distortion tone. It's the clean tone that is the challenge. Nice work, Victory! 🤌🏾
I could watch Bill riff out all day!
Amazing!! Cheers to you, Martin and crew for the wonderful accolades by the Mastodon fellas!
Rabea would be proud 👏
Bill seems to be the businessman of that Mastodon posse.
Such a kickass amp! Those riffs are the best 🫶🏻

My super kraken is an absolute destroyer of worlds.

Victory amps sound incredibly heavy. Especially that Super Kraken🤘🎸
The Kellikraken
V30 owner here. Underrated amp for sure.
V1 or v2? Had de v1 and it was so dark and compressed, I had to let it go. Gorgeous clean tone though.

This. I love jamming Mastodon on my Rockerverb, but admittedly I love the old filthy sludgy sound they had.

Pretty, pretty brutal sound.
He goes 4 cable with the helix into a victory . Good setup . I go 4 cable into a PRS MT15 . I think 4 cable is best way to use a helix
