@Patrick A Well just start working on bikes, atvs ,etc. You will find things you need to fix with them. Either look up on TH-cam how to fix things or join some forums. Practice makes perfect! Good luck!

@Patrick A get a old carburetor to start there thats where most bikes atvs need work with this gas we have now. Lawn mowers to pepole give them away of find one at the dump mowers are easy to find an fix

You've made a great investment with the case splitter. You've saved yourself a lot of money and headaches. Those KX 65s are fun little bikes. Some kid's going to be happy to have that.
Kx65 I have one they rip good for 60cc
just put the cases in the oven. the cases will expand more then the bearings, and then they will just fall out. somtimes they need a little tap, but never a lot
always great when you help someone out and the bike shits itself next ride😆 least you get to rebuild the thing, hope it works out

They didn’t make a KX60 those years. That’s when they made KX65s so you probably have an old 90s one

Kx 65 I I built two for my nephews they had been riding since 3 years old we live on a dirt road and these boys around here have been riding all their lives and on 450s can't keep up with them they are 16 now maybe 17 but them little 65 probably was the longest lasting bikes they ever had I remember they had a KTM 65 didn't have it a month before the casing split from the transmission there's nothing them boys couldn't ride I've seen them on rockets at 12 Skylar could pack a wheely on a 450 as far as he wanted at 14 and the boys wasn't even 5 ft yet hahaha we even had their little cousin riding a kx 65 at a very young age and she was getting pretty good too

I hear Wiseco cranks are junk. That's why you can get an entire bottom end kit for a few hundred $
its running a little too rich lean it out a tad and use better 2 strok oil it wont hardly smoke the exhaust may be all gunked up. also check those reeds other then that thing runs pretty dang good.
My daughter had the same bike n loves it....she had it since she was 6...(5 years now)

I flip bikes for money like him, I buy shitty bikes all the time, sometimes I run into problems that I don’t realize exist. Never adjust float height to fix a leaking carb replace the fuel needle and set the float height to spec
65 is not built for the weight of an adult learned my lesson on my sons 02 65 trashed the crank ...rebuild it do proper break in and let the kids ride it

Im looking at a klx140g for myself. I think itll have roughly the same power as the 65.
wawsharedacct it has far more power lol. It’s just a little more power than a kx85
ngk spark plugs is the best to run in dirtbikes
and yahmalube pre mix 2r in 2 strokes

Get rid of that horrible colour on the frame it doesn't suit it go back to Kawasaki green while you've got it stripped down

This bike is scarier than any other two-stroke because of how hard the power band hits it’s really unstable

@8:55 Remember to clean and lube your chain religiously... if that chain binds on the engine sprocket, it can break the engine case.
FYI kx65 only came with that silencer 2000,2001 n 2002 also only years for green frame and seat height is couple inches shorter than 03+ kx65's

If the oil is milky white what does that mean I have a Kx65 and the oil is milky white only when it's cold why??the bike runs very good tho no noise in it either..

The way they were taught to ride is to change gear before power and they haven’t learnt how to ride a 2 stroke properly yet maybe if they got a pitbike they would actually open it up

How do u know what year a dirt bike is, if u don't know
Look up the vin number on the frame. Count 10 number/letters back from the start of the vin and that number/letter tell you the year.
Thats not true for kawasaki bikes
Those kx65 are said to be able to go 75mph top speed when brand new, get it to 70mph joe!

I had an rm65 I think 2005 and it hauled my ass around. I'm 200lb it picked up the front wheel no issue.

Check piston for scratching and the top of the piston where it was striking the head for metal pieces embedded
I would change piston either way and ultra clean the entire motor

Sounds like the silencer needs re packing and sounds like it could do with a piston it’s very rattely otherwise good bike for 2000

Unpopular opinion: 85cc 2 strokes are way too powerful compared to their actual weight.
Aito suomalainen for a kid that’s beginning, or doesn’t race, yes. Mine gives my dad Honda Trx 400ex a run for its money

Thats what happends when you dont tune it ends up running lean an it blows it slef up. Maybe you shoukd get a nitro engine an learn on the before you keep doing this stuff. Cus idk if thay made you pay for the rebuild or not but they could have an they would have won. Yall are doing alright but fine tunning. An for future advice get a conoression tester an do a conlression test before you work om another bike i no cus someone will end up saying yall caused it to blow up seen it happen before. An to mysef but they where fam so we split the cost
I have a compression tester.This bike was running weird when charlie got it in. Nothing to do with tuning it. The carb was set correctly on it.

Go for a CRF150 or a KX140 unless your riding track. Four strokes are good for trail but small displacement track bikes should be two strokes
