    I don't usually comment on TH-cam videos, but I feel like you deserve a very rare (probably even collectible) comment in order to thank you Lithium. Your videos and collection has inspired me to start my own Nintendo 64 collection. I constantly use your videos for reference and education. I can't have seen myself ever being interested in collecting, but you seem to have changed all of that. Searching for deals and buying N64 hardware has started taking up a lot of my time and money (which I am happy about in case you didn't realise!). Thank for your contributions to Nintendo collecting and the internet. Have a nice day.
    From an undisgruntled viewer.
    EDIT
    Now owner of 5 Nintendo 64s, a ton of boxed games, controllers and other awesome stuff

    It's strange I have, what I assume is, the Funtastic Ice Blue 64. I got it at a rummage sale for $5, so I'm not entirely sure. In any event, it's not nearly as blue as your Ice Blue console. It's more of a turquoise and leans towards the color of your Clear Blue and Clear White console. I wonder what the deal is, did the colors simply vary that much?

    Hey lithium, great video! Just wanted to let you know that the toys r us gold console was actually released in 2001 and not 1998 in North America. The gold console in Japan was released in 1998 but not the North American version. You can tell because it advertises new games on the back like paper mario which didn't come out until 2001. Fantastic videos, keep it up! :)

    I haven't watched your video yet, but it will be very useful for me as I started creating a little collection (want to own every Nintendo console/handheld). Bought the black one a few days ago with 6 games (including Super Mario 64) and two regular controllers for €30. Found it an okay price :)

  • @matthewstreets9662

    Still interesting as always. Your collection has grown a lot since this video (Your collection never stops growing). I have the standard, Charcoal UK version of the N64 console (Because I live in the UK). If I were rich 💰 and have a very big space, then I would start collecting 16 (16 as my limit just like you) Nintendo 64 systems.

    Great video lithium. Just got back into N64 collecting yesterday. Picked up your average plain black system with Super mario 64. Luckly I had the atomic purple box lying around at home, so now I have a boxed n64 :) watching this vid makes me kick myself though. I remember buying a jungle green console with the expansion pack at EB in '09 for 15 bucks. should have never sold it :(

    My cousins (they were in Japan at the time due to my uncle being stationed there for military purposes) Had both the Daiei Hawks and the Jusco N64. My cousin had the Daiei Hawks and his sister had the Jusco console. Who knew they would have been worth so much. They still have the Daiei Hawks console, but unfortunately, the Jusco one died back in 2011.

    I'd like to add my thoughts on the 64DD. It came in two package variations. Most units were purchased through Randnet, coming bundled with a modem and a Randnet disk. Towards the end of its short lifespan, it was also sold in a separate packaging at select stores. About 15,000 were sold, but Nintendo had a buy-back program for Randnet subscribers, so the number of surviving units is likely lower.
    Nintendo 64DD
    Regions: JAP
    Rarity: 8 (Randnet), 10 (Standalone)
    Loose: 200 - 300
    Complete: 350 - 500 (Randnet), 700 - 800 (Standalone)
    Mint: 500 - 600 (Randnet), 1,000+ (Standalone)

    I paid $520 Australian Dollars for a never been opened Pikachu ToysRUs set on eBay. It was actually the cheapest listing for a mint boxed console in a long time. Most people are asking for a grand now... It's crazy.

  • @Beauxtrix
    @Beauxtrix 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    aw man prices have gone up so much on N64's or any retro consoles/games in Australia. For a regular N64 out of box the cheapest you'll find it for is $120 with one controller.

    Funny that the gold is an 8 because my neighbor had a Gold N64, and he was nice so when we moved he let us keep his gold N64 controller. Nintendo Collecting You're in a lucky locale. In Australia the plain simple Charcoal console loose will cost $50-$80 from a pawn shop. $50-$150 from a gaming store. In box will be $100+ no matter what. Mint probably close to $500:/ Sadface.
    Love your collection. Good going and all the best!

    Ey Lithium, i must ask about a thing: Im from sweden and i have 2 PAL N64's. one "grape purple" and one weird; it looks like a "clear blue / white", but without the white bottom, is it different in Europe or is it just a really really old and misscoloured "ice blue"? I'd think it would be weird if it was a "ice blue" since it's not even blue...

      You can get a Red / White and do a soft plastic mod on it for it to play NTSC North American games. Essentially you just modify the plastic within the console that prevents NA games from going in it.

    I'm sure the rarity of these N64 consoles make the prices pretty steep.

    The N64 is my favorite to collect for right now because the prices are not completely stupid, like NES.

    i had a jesco n64, and the other day i found it in the garage under a bunch of boxes, we moved to this house in 2006 and that jesco n64 has been out there for 9 years, it still works perfect and is in mint condition, and i have the box, no shrink wrap tho and the box is kinda beat up, but its nice

    You should do an update video to see if anything is worth more/less of if you've found anything new since this video. Also, I just bought the orange funtastic console pretty much mint in box. It has the sticker on the jumper pack that says "do not remove. See instruction manual" or something along those line. If I remove that and put in the expansion pack, does that lower the value any?

    The daycare I went to had some of these. My cousin had one. I never owned one though because it came out before I was born.

    Do you know about the Hyundai Comboy 64? Basically a Nintendo 64 marketed by Hyundai in South Korea with some custom writing on it.

    I saw a video the other day showing how to clean/repair N64 consoles and multiple people have claimed to buying a dozen consoles supposedly broken that just needed cleaning/easy repairs. One guy bought 11 N64s for $40 and only 1 way fully dead. He saved all the others and all work now. So if you at least have a bit of experience opening devices/electronics and repairing, definitely buy some "broken" consoles. You could also follow tutorials and easily save some while the others might need more serious repairing.

    hey lithium. i have a suggestion. it is that you display the consoles with the rarest ones on top. so in reverse. i say this because i think you are in the basement, maybe i'm wrong, and i'm thinking of flooding. i don't have a N64 but if i buy one i think i'd go for an ice blue or fire orange. maybe both.

    hey lithium! i have been loving your videos, pretty sad the tips are completed. I am interested in doing a beer pong table and i wanted to know if you still had the stencils for the nintendo theme table for sale? also, someone recently asked me what i was going to do with my collections when i pass and i had never considered that because i do not ever plan on getting married or having kids. what are you planning to do with yours?

      @NintendoCollecting  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope to keep my collection for life - and then hand it down to my kids or my friends. I never ended up selling the decals for the tables...yet. I just couldn't figure out a way to cheaply print out the sprites on one massive sheet

    I'm from Germany and here the standard system is the most common as well of course but after that there is quite the gap to the next most common one which is actually the one with the clear blue top and clear white bottom. After that comes the Pikachu system and then there is another big gap in price to all the funtastic systems which are very expensive to get boxed. Luckily I found a boxed smoke system locally for fairly cheap but that's it. I'm more the guy for the games rather than systems and controllers :)
    Oh by the way there is a very cool PAL set with a charcoal system and a gold controller instead of a grey one. Very hard to find though.

    • @NintendoCollecting
      @NintendoCollecting  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is neat to hear the difference. There is a charcoal with an extreme green, with a gold, with an atomic purple over here too. They are harder to find than the standard release for sure

    Very Nice Video :-) Good Informations. But for Example the Mint-Version of the Clear Blueversion costs here (Germany) like 250-300 Dollar or more :(

    N64 sounds really expensive but honestly it’s like 50 60 for a gray consle and then like 100 for the a clear one and games pretty inexpensive and as someone that usually stays away from expensive consles I just had to get a GameCube but my family would kill me if I used eBay.

    I have the green one and a friend of mine has the first gray one, so not rare but still awesome. Some of my favourite video games are on the N64

    Nice video. Just wondering I picked up a grape purple/atomic purple N64 from a car boot sale for £30 with a official expansion pack and the original controller with it. Was it worth it? Its a PAL one.
    I already have a Black N64.

    I have both the Charcoal Black and Ice Blue N64 consoles, if I was to collect more colours, my next one on the list would be the Jungle Green or Watermelon Red (despite living in Australia, I'd use a region free cartridge for the WR).
    Also the Charcoal Black I got off eBay for $70-80 and as for the Ice Blue $200.
