Actually, that ending was completely made up for the western release of the game and isn't present in the original Japanese version. Its regarded as non-canon.
To be honest though, the only ending that I guess you can consider “canon” is the one where Pit becomes a captain in Palutena’s army (The second best in the Japan version, and third best in the US version). In Kid Icarus Uprising, Pit’s a captain in her army, so you can say its picked up from that ending.

Just because there was a T-Pose Virus in SMG4 doesn't mean T-Posing in general was invented by SMG4. T-Posing has been around since people can remember.
I find it funny that in the first few games her design wasn't all that and just a few pixels, but in Brawl she got a complete makeover and she looks stunning they did a good job for her 3d design

Platinum Games is my favorite studio, they've made lots of my favorite games, (Revengeance, Vanquish, Bayonetta, NieR:A, etc, etc.) and Kid Icarus is one of my favorite things that exists, but it's so lacking in content. If that came to be, hot damn that'd be incredible. It's also kind of possible, because Kid Icarus is partially a rail shooter, and Platinum did Star Fox Zero, which, AFAIK, is a rail shooter.

Good to see someone else sharing it. :)

I think Sakurai might have been fond of the series considering how he was willing to bring in Pit AND Palutena (though a side character) into Brawl, with redesigns despite their slight obscurity in Nintendo’s history, not to mention that he chose to continue the series when Iwata (R.I.P.) asked him to create a game for the then upcoming system, 3DS using whatever franchise he wanted.
This takes me back to 2014 when Palutena was first announced, and i thought the idea of her being playable in smash was absurd as she was Pit's final smash before.
Nothing better than waiting 21 years to see Pit playable again, and then waiting 4 years for his (awesome) own game, and then 2 years for Smash 4, and now ANOTHER 4 years for Smash Ultimate - the whole franchise is just waiting :/
Its truely amazing how Sakurai took this 2d NES game and reimagined the character in a fighting game that he made, and it turned into a fan favorite franchise

It is kinda neat how when palutena went to 3d she is basically the only character they kept the green hair for. I know the reason is because electronic capabilities or lack thereof and having a limited palette, so it is kinda cool to keep the green hair.
