I remember making stupid excuses for Catholics when I was little. My family is very Catholic and we live in a heavily Catholic area, but of course I had Protestant friends. (I actually hung w a JW girl). They'd say something about how we worshipped Mary (and we did waaay weirder $hit, if they only knew) and I'd say something about how we were just asking Mary to pray for us!! Like how you might ask a friend to pray for you. A 2,000 year old teen who was forced to be a mom and probably never existed & def wasn't a virgin... Totally normal right? It seems so moot and strange looking back. I deconvereted at like 16 after thinking I was a Pagan or maybe Buddhist for like a year. But I stayed in till I was 18 for family apperances. It just seems so weird that I felt so self righteous & defensive of something so stupid and obviously ridiculas. We've all been there I think. Anyone who grew idoctrinated anyway. But the JW's are so strict, and their beliefs are at least Catholic level of weird, if not weirder. Glad to see you got out. It's really brave of you. Likely because they’re indoctrinated themselves. You’re better off shaming and pointing fingers at the corrupt people in charge, rather than at the victims themselves.
I can remember one talk that an Elder gave, urging congregation members to pursue Pioneering or Auxilary Pioneering, and he made the statement that even if one were to quit one's job or become unemployed "for the sake of the ministry", one should rest assured that all of their needs would be taken care of. The same congregation was also trying to gather funds for building a new Kingdom Hall. Apparently, those who had pledged funds were starting to slack off, and not many donations were forthcoming. This led to another Elder using the end of one meeting to urge the congregation to continue supporting the building project. Even stating, "Although we know that this project has Jehovah's blessing, we cannot expect the necessary funds to show up through osmosis." That was just one of many things that began to make me see things differently. They are fully aware of the burdens that many individuals live with, and yet encourage them to be reckless with their jobs and finances, so that they can get a badge of approval as a good JW. And yet, should that JW fall on hard times, lose their job, lose their home or become destitute, heaven help them, because the congregation won't. They'll come and read scriptures to you, and offer to pray with you, and that's about it. Modern day Jehovah's Witnesses are the exact equivalent of the Pharisees and Saducees that Christ spoke of. They know the Bible very, very well. They know the God's laws very well. They are meticulous about maintaining a seemingly spotless, pure image. But in the same way that Christ condemned the Pharisees, the same applies to the leaders off JW's. "They know the law, but their hearts are far removed from it." Many of the JW's fall into another trap, where they too know "the law", but miss it's purpose. The whole purpose of the Old Law Covenant, was to make it abudnantly clear to humans that they could not perfectly keep it, and existed solely on the basis of God's mercy and forgiveness. Now, JW leadership has replaced the New Covenant with their own hyper specific, and yet also vague laws guidelines, keeping their follower's ever busy with directives that are either blatantly non-scriptural, or where the words of the Bible have been twisted.

Interesting when the person doesn't get the 6 months off from their employer to further the Borgs interest, and they go anyway they lie and say they were "sacked". Requesting 6 months off is a big deal and means an employer needs to reorganize staffing which comes at a cost. Employers are not obligated to pander to Watchtower's vision for their organization to the detriment of their own. If an employee requests time off and it is denied, and you still go ahead and take it, you are not sacked, you have abandoned your job. If you ask for time off and your employer can't give it to you, and you inconsiderately take the time anyway, an employer has every right to end your employment contract. The portrayal of bosses as being so rude is so disingenuous and character assassination. At 56:30, I am just appalled at the ease and almost smirk at which the speaker is okay with discussing women being 'taking by force' knowing full well there are children in the audience. If that is not enough, the image of the Nephilim strangling one person and forcefully carrying a woman away is just appalling. I was raised a JW and had to read the My Book of Bible Stories (from the early '80s; not sure if it still used or in print). One story I still vividly recall about a woman killing a man by driving a tent spike through his temple. Yes, a 1/2 page color picture of the event was included. No wonder the GB has no problem with covering up child abuse within their congregants. The biggest struggle I had after waking up was forgiving myself; making peace between what I was taught and how I felt during all those years of indoctrination. Being a JW meant never feeling adequate, good enough. The elders and their gossipy wives were the most judgemental self-centered people I have ever met. Talks and comments were never good enough. Door-to-door preaching report numbers were never good enough. In addition, I was 'an orphan' in that my dad was a non-believer therefore I was always pushed to the fray of the congregation social circle. If you are a PIMO and having doubts about if it's worth it to get out, I hope you take the leap and leave. Live your life. Learn about yourself; learn who you are and what makes you feel free and alive. Make decisions for yourself without fear of judgement and criticism and be okay with those decisions....don't let a cult control you any longer. How does one quit their job when they have no education to give them prospects in the future? Do none of them desire to have children to support? Are they all just millionaires?
I was wondering, does JW org. ever try to raise funds, or give aid or donations to other people in need like the homeless, refugees, prisoners, the marginalized and the poor, or victims of disasters even? Or does JW even encourage giving aid or raising funds for any of it's own, like a JW member who might have a child who might need money to receive treatment for a life-debilitating illness, for example?
Nope. Usually the only money the WT may decide to spend is to help fellow JWs when there is a disaster. They typically will mention disaster relief only when it suits their narrative to make them look good. But no WT funds are ever spent to help the homeless and hungry or poor. Ask any poor JW in the US (or elsewhere) if the WT has ever given them help to buy food or housing. The answer will always be NO.
They don’t have any policy as such that asks the congregation to look after the poorer members of the church. They’ll give examples from the Bible of people helping others out but firmly discourage anyone to expect that help might be available. In fact, if you see some of the JW videos, you might find reference to disaster work where they help out members of their own congregation to assist them in re-building after a disaster. Behind the scenes, the Watchtower looks to volunteer labour (their members), donations of goods and then, when they’ve help re-build, the insurance money that might be available is ‘requested’ as a donation from the member. They are rapacious in their attempts to get hold of funds.
Jeez the 4th one... I remember being so torn not being able to grow out my afro even slightly nope every month it was time trim to my hair very short could almost see my scalp And i used to think we celebrated different cultures
So they're having congregations pass resolutions for a monthly donation.. $8.25 per publisher in the USA I heard. So much for each individual deciding their ability, what if congregation of 100 only comes up with $750? Why can't they do bake sales ffs?
Yep, according to their calculation, every publisher (even elderly or unemployed) should be able to spare this amount from anything coming in and even forego any treats. But what they are counting on is that the amount is so low that someone in a better position can cover 5 times the amount making up for PIMOs or any others who just won't contribute at all. Still, they will not be able to pull this off for long.
As far as the governing body doing something criminal. I believe that the fact that they are covering up the child abuse and keeping the abusers hidden and their crimes secret that this falls under the category of aiding and abetting which is a serious crime in itself and could potentially carry the additional charge of being an accessory. So, due to their actions, the governing body is in effect committing a serious crime or crimes. They should turn themselves in to the authorities and face justice. But I don’t want them to. I want to see the drama of them in court lying and squirming with voices trembling as they try to weasel their way out of it. And right when they get the guilty verdict I want to see the expression on their faces that says, “Dear Jehovah, I just shit myself!”
The father and daughter scene. its funny she puts on the dark makeup and clothes to go out with the boy with the fake beard. Demonized for wanting a normal life.
I haven’t been ‘out’ that long, according to how long I was in. 39 years. I’m 42 now. I watch your videos FINALLY, after 3 years, and I still find myself getting defensive. Will this ever end?!?
I feel compassion for the Witnesses who swallow this !@#$ but have nothing to show for their hard work. Especially for those who will soon be retiring without any funds behind them.
I also think the donation talk was so much more low key and dignified when I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s. I wonder if that was a period of growth and they are currently losing people, or growing very slowly.
Regarding the brother who left his full time job with benefits for a part time job to build for JW, does anyone know if JW provides basic health insurance for full time volunteers? Because if not, this premise is just bonkers.
Gods work is helping a person in need through their actions! Shoving a watchtower down their throat is not Gods work. Also, its Not by donating their money to a organization that doesn't do anything useful to actually help people.
If I had seen these talks during my time with the org, it probably would have hastened my departure. "Don't ask questions." "Don't do research." The only reason I started a study so many years ago is because the JWs who came to my door promised that they had answers to my questions. Ultimately, years later I left after asking too many questions that aren't allowed, regarding the story of Adam and Eve.
They say they have answers but if you really look, they don't. Examine Gen. 2:9, 16-17 and Gen. 3:22-24. I compared what I read in those scriptures to what the organization explains about how sin/imperfection spread. This helped me to wake up.
Lloyd, you get much more money from selling developed land than undeveloped land. That's why they need buildings. And, if they can exploit their members' free labor, then all the better.

Read the New Testament. Jesus has at times been pretty bloodthirsty, obviously the most in "Revelation". But he also said the nice thing about everyone who'll follow him needs to buy a sword and if they cannoit afford it sell their goods and buy it with the proceeds. Don't buy into the insincere "Jesus was only love and peace" story, that is pure propaganda to catch people through the "feelgood" it creates. The bible is no book of love or peace. Never has been.
I like the quit your job talk ! I was waiting for him to say "And in another example the couple were hurled into destitution and forced to live on park benches and beg. When they asked Jehovah for some accommodation he immediately sent a police officer to arrest them for vagrancy and they're now both happily serving 5 years at a local jail. Unfortunately , we had to disfellowship them for being common criminals, but at least they got a Kingdom Hall built which earned the GB a few thousand when it was sold off. 'D
The quality of the GB's talks has severely gone down hill. Idk if it's always been this bad and I'm just snapping out of the indoctrination, or they're just getting desperate.
The one where the GB blatantly asks for money is very cringy. Even televangelists aren't that shameless in asking for cash. The one we see here goes to an all time low in using even children to beg for money. I haven't seen any religious group stoop this low. Sure, I have seen groups do ask for donations, but usually they coat it as charity for the poor or some other cause. This here is blatant in saying to give money to the organization--no sugar coating at all, just a blatant begging for money. Truly disgusting and awful. It's so obvious that I wonder if even the members are cringing at such overt manipulation.
Everything Tony Morris says reminds me of a quote from Halo 3. “You are, all of you, vermin. Cowering in the dirt, thinking... what, I wonder? That you might escape the coming fire? No. Your world will burn until its surface is but glass! And not even your Demon will live to creep, blackened, from its hole to mar the reflection of our passage; the culmination of our Journey. For your destruction is the will of the gods! And I...I am their instrument!"
"At this point of our convention, dear brothers and sisters, we have a deficit. We trust Jehovah will move us to be generous in taking care of this need."
I asked my mom about the donation thing and like you she doesn’t remember ever hearing jw’s asking or in this case begging for money. This is one change in the religion that proves to us that it’s no different from Catholics, mormons, evangelists or christians of any kind!!
They can never recover from the desperation of asking kids for their ice cream money. Like dang, if a parent feel that they gave as much as they could for the month, they are basically saying "you still have another dollar, does your kid need that ice cream treat?" Pretty dang low to guilt a kid like that.

1:05:00 the very implication that a child's (inactive but LIVING) parent is deceased is damaging. That tears apart a young family. That brainwashes viewers of all ages into the mindset that everyone outside of the religion is dead to them. It creates that distance that keeps them safe from ever finding out the reality. Especially in kids, they now have had the idea that a parent is as good as dead to them if they're not involved. Parents are an example to their kids and psychologically play a massive role in their development. Outside forces that groom, seperate, and manipulate kids away from parents are sick. What a twisted thing.
A child in a broken family is already vulnerable. You add all of this in... it's just an inevitability that the child will suffer exposure to things they're not meant.

Thanks so much lloyd keep up the good work, I Was a JW for 30 years and broke away when I was 50 when I think back I feel like such a fool time wasted on such rubbish, I really appreciate the time and effort you make thanks so much if you want a chat maybe I could give you my story. Xx
When I was a Pioneer in full-time service, I would feel so proud to tell other people at their doors that we are the only religion that does not beg for money. I feel that I need to find those same people, and apologize to them for bringing this b******* to their door.
You're awesome! 🤣😂😃That gave me a good giggle, you're probably slightly serious which actually adds to the funny inadvertently. 😂😃
Don't worry about what you said to people on doorsteps. That was the cult talking. You sound way better now, because it's actually you talking.
I am just so disgusted by all of it. Been out 4 years and feel so free especially after listening to this. This is just beyond manipulative gaslighting. Everybody that is out needs to help spread the word of how bad this is!! Thanks Lloyd for the work you do. You are literally helping save lives!!!!
I cannot cannot CANNOT tell you how thankful I am that you created this channel and have dedicated so much time to telling the truth. Thank you Lloyd for being a huge contributing factor in me waking up.
I don't understand how any parent could allow their children to be traumatized and indoctrinated so horrifically. A parent's FIRST loyalty and concern should be for their children, not for ANY religion they are following.
Absolutely right, it’s the first rule of being a parent, your children come first.
But they don't "follow a religion", they are following "God Himself"... Didn't you get the memo ?
@@garryiglesias4074 That’s right, directly from the mouth of the ‘anointed’ ones. Shame there aren’t any GENUINE anointed ones in the whole organisation. Instead, they consist of Freemasons, gluttonous liars, who care about 2 things.. your complete lunacy and every penny you earn. Because it belongs to Jehovah, not you, good for nothing slave. Cough up.
If you really believe what they tell you it makes sense to try and make your kids believe it as well. You don´t want them to die horribly at Armageddon, after all. Which is why they have to keep pushing the idea that the world could end any minute. No time to think! If you leave this webpage the offer may expire!
Even stating, "Although we know that this project has Jehovah's blessing, we cannot expect the necessary funds to show up through osmosis."
That was just one of many things that began to make me see things differently.
"They know the law, but their hearts are far removed from it."
Many of the JW's fall into another trap, where they too know "the law", but miss it's purpose.

They have to portray people other than themselves as rude to keep the delusion and fear of anything outside their bubble going.

Oh yes. They recently bought rental property under the guise of using 7 out of 16 rental buildings for construction delegates for the new studio complex they plan to start building next year. They will manage the rental and leasing of the other buildings. Can you imagine?

Great great video, Lloyd.
Let go of the guilt, shame and feelings of inadequacy that the congregation and GB skillfully bombard you with. Be kind to yourself and know there is a community of ex-JWs that know exactly how you feel and are supportive.
I always have to fast forward the platform speeches because I can still feel the brainwashing slowly creeping in. Ugh
GB: don’t get more education, a good paying job or even accept a promotion and a raise because it’ll take more time away from your spiritual responsibilities.

When a JW volunteers on a building project for 6 months, who pays his/her mortgage payment, car payment and health insurance premiums?
I'm sure the governing body will be more than happy to help their volunteers pay for their own healthcare insurance mortgage payments car payments education and retirement.
It shouldn’t be something you have to ask for. It should come standard - if I volunteer, you pay my bills. The problem is that JWs definitely of “volunteer” is really an unwritten requirement. If you don’t volunteer, they question your devotion and faith within the organization.

Nope

But we are not like other religions, we dont ask for MONEY, no they demand it.
🤣🤣🤣too hilarious! Thank you for the hardy laughs tonight, I needed this 🤣

I don't think you can use beach sand for concrete....
Didn't the bible say something about a sandy foundation?
Regarding the brother who left his full time job with benefits for a part time job to build for JW, does anyone know if JW provides basic health insurance for full time volunteers? Because if not, this premise is just bonkers.
Oh god no
Gods work is helping a person in need through their actions!
