- As we near our little reprieve in lambing... the deliveries are getting a bit more challenging.
Today, I decided to check on a mama who just didn't look right. Sure enough, two lambs decided to enter the world at the same time.
That doesn't work so well for a sheep.
Also starting to see the effects of our older stock, and perhaps maybe even Maedi Visna as more and more ewes are not producing enough milk to service their lambs.

My grams is 93. Her family raised sheep & chickens. Farmed land. She has dementia now. She remembers a lot from her childhood. As soon as grams hears the bleet of a lamb she perks up. I'm old and sick, 74 with cancer and COPD. Your videos take me away to days gone by filled with wonder and joy at new life. A lamb cam would be the icing on the cake. To be able to watch the lambs antics as they grow. Thank you so much.

Lamb cam! Excellent. Even the boring snoozing of lambs grounds a reluctant city dweller. Manipulation with over-the-top music and canned "laughter" are, IMHO, are heinous. I wanna drive a tractor. Plant stuff. Walk outside in working hours and feel the sun on my face. I even like hearing the loud birds. Thank you for sharing the good, bad, family, tears, cheers, life, and hope.

i agree. taking time for yourself is very important. if you had a 9-5 40/wk jpb you could take a pto or mental health day. here you have to take what you can when you can. time for yourself, however that looks. visiting the ladies, Spending Time With Mark not on a tractor, napping, spending time with the kids when they are there. spending time with mark, read a book, do a puzzle.

Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer 🎀 and had to go through chemo, radiation and surgeries. Your videos helped get me through my harder days when my husband was at work and kids at school. I still watch you and now I'm cancer free. At lunch every day I watch some of your older videos and all I can do is smile.
Great job I know the struggle of having cancer treatment. Fingers crossed 🤞, four leaf ☘️ clover, and any other positive blessing that you stay cancer free.

Sandi, I just want to say what a pleasure it is to watch your videos. They are educational, touching, funny (sometimes sad) but mostly uplifting. I am really interested in the business side - decisions you make and why. I find it helps me better appreciate the sheep and the struggles and triumphs you face. You are such a compassionate farmer, but you absolutely have to take care of your business, yourself, and your family. I think it can be easy to loose track of the bigger picture with all the cute lambs. Knowing the background makes me admire you even more!

Hi, my older sister (47yo) died of a long term illness in February this year. Family Christmas last year was the last time I saw her before a brief visit to her ICU hours before she passed.one of my favourite memories of last Christmas was binge watching you Blog-Mas with her.

It is so cute when you catch the baby lambs getting the zoomies. It's usually when the mama's are eating and the babies have some pent up energy.
I laugh so hard watching those babies get silly. It honestly leaves a smile on my heart an I can't help but be in a good mood for the day after seeing those clips. 💕

My boyfriend has asked that several times. He doesn't know what a blessing Sandi is! She is always smiling, compassionate and genuine! Most of videos now are filled with negative content and meant only to hurt another person. Furthermore, most people are acting and coercing a specific attitude or fantasy. That's why we all love Sandi, her family and friends! No faking LIFE.

1. Show us the lamb Jammie and everything about them.
2. Show us the tree ornaments with the info you know about the very special ones. Your faves, tiniest, one from farthest away, etc.
3. Choose 2 special lambs, a boy and a girl, and let US name them.
4. Where is the Christmas decor fir the Golden Girls? Christmas happens in their pen too you know!

Oh my goodness, does anybody else involuntarily hold their breath when the ewes are pushing? I swear i nearly passed out when those two wee babies tried to come out together ❤️ 😊 !!
I'm laughing as I write this! Me, too!! I have trained in every field of nursing, except the OR. As an old labor and delivery nurse, I would find myself holding my breath and pushing.... Plus, I'm talking to the phone to the ewe, saying what Sandi is saying, pushing away.... tee hee! Someone please call Guiness World Records department if I have a lamb.......

I for one would still be watching the videos even if it was 30 minutes of recorded sheep noises once a week, (with the dogs ofcourse 😉) no matter what, people follow kindness, we will always support the channel. I have lots of family scattered through Ontario and I'm in FL, USA. I miss my Canada home, these videos remind me personally of my family and working on their farms.

I love the Golden Girls! (Loved the show, too) When Billy's mom had the seizure, I was yelling "Oh no no no!!!!" just like Sandi. Then I just cried; knowing that there wasn't a fix for it.

That was so adorable where Sandi was dodging the stealer mom and then telling her to "Go have your own" sounding just like an old Jewish mom. I also loved where the one ewe was struggling on her first baby and the ewe in the pen behind her seemed to be gently pawing the air in an encouraging way. Almost like she was quietly cheering her on. So sweet. As far as what to show if there is a break in lambing, how about a short follow up of some of the harder birthed lambs, like the twins in this vlog that were trying to be born together. Or like a follow up on Una the first born premie lamb of the season. (edited for spelling)

I love that when you are stressed and things upset you, you don't hide that you have emotions like everyone else. You cry on camera and don't hide it and pretend to be happy.
As far as when your not lambing, It takes a lot of work to edit and post, but whenever you have time, and want, I would love to see you and your family (if they want) being yourselves. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

As a fellow sheep farmer, I love seeing all your lambings. It gives ideas of some changes we can make. I would love to learn more about your "nanny" as I sometimes have to hand raise a lamb now and then. We are small potatoes compared to you, but we are growing. We start lambing January 22, 2023. Sandi, I appreciate you so much because of how much you give to us. Christmas is always a difficult time for me because I lost my oldest son to cancer (he was 24). But you need to do you. Spend time with your family and rest. When you come back to vloging I like to hear about you, your family, you and Mark being empty nesters and about your business. I like everything you share with us.
It’s time for Mark to do maintenance on his equipment, get everything put in the sheds for the winter so it’s ready for spring.

I've been watching about 2 years...retiring nurse, now caring for husband. This video is my happy place, where I rest, relax, and enjoy life. What I most love is watching the babies run and act crazy, then find their moms, and nurse. I love to just watch lambs nursing and wagging their tails. Then fall asleep full and happy. It cracks me up when the little lambs jump up on the backs of the adults - it's like the Dr Seuss story "Hop on Pop", but with your sheep it's "Hop on Mom!"
I’ve been quietly watching for about 4 years now. Suggestions on what to do next: I’d be interested in you talking about breeds of sheep again and the different pros and cons about the ones in your flock. I’d also enjoy seeing the crop science on the field side, i.e. fertilizing(nutrient balance) how your soil type effects crops,etc. One of my degrees is in soil science and I’d love to see a deeper dive!
I have had real trouble sleeping over the past couple of days and listening and watching your vlogs have been such a comfort and calming influence for me. I am 71 and I have a disabled son who is also a diabetic amputee and the stress at times can be very extreme. It never ceases to amaze me how you’re able to bring so much joy to so many with some of the cutest creatures in the world. Thank you for all that you do for all of us who watch you and care for you and your family and your wonderful, beautiful sheep.

Also, regarding the lull in lambing and what the viewers want. Take a break girl! Sleep in or take a few naps during the day! After that, I personally would enjoy even lamb feeding content. To kind of see how the day goes when you're not busy being a midwife. I'm also curious about the preemie lambs and the test results. Assuming you haven't spoken to Rex yet? I'm also curious how you keep groups separated come breed time with the ewe lambs to prevent inbreeding. You explained once about your 4 groups, but I'd be curious to know more details about that. Thx again Sandy, get some rest! I think it's time I do as well😆
I lost my Mom at Christmas time in 2008 and have not enjoyed Christmas since but Sandi you make it possible for me to find joy in it again. Thank you 😊 💓

Once lambing stops, I would be perfectly okay with just watching the view from the office. When I see those little ones running and hopping around each other it makes my day.
I like the double wide spacing better than the single because the moms are so big they look cramped in the single. They look like they enjoy the double better as well and more spacing for the little ones too run and play.

OMG! I just love watching your little lambs jumping and playing! You are in charge though Sandy, so if YOU need a break, take it! I have been watching you religiuosly for the last several years. I have literally lost count. Just know that I am NEVER to tired, bored, or otherwise busy to see how you are doing. It is not all about the lambs, but I have to say, the lambs are my FAVORITE part. I just love watching them! 😍

Sandy I just wanted to let you know that you came into my life at a very hard time My husband passed away 2 years ago and I found your channel and started watching it and seeing you with them lambs just really Brighten up my day I don't have anything to do with farming and I'm just in all of seeing you in these Lambs all the time it just makes my day and I'm glad that you are here with us each and every day thank you for that so I hope you keep doing it would love to see more of the sheep when they move to the other barn and how you pick the ones to keep 😊 🙂

What is the significance of red vs blue numbers?
@@donnaflanagan1570each color means either singles, twins, triplets, or more babies. That way for example if #42 is marked with the color for triplets, and one baby is on the Nanny (milk machine), but only one 42 baby is near mama, and the ewe is stressed, Sandi knows that she needs to find a 42 baby because the color tells her that mama had 3, and should have 2 with her.
It helps with organization, and I would assume with flock data as well.

I love that the other sheep are watching through the divider and come to check things out. The Mama trying to kidnap the baby was hilarious and you clarifying that the lamb was sleeping while laid flat out was adorable.
