Are there any in Nova Scotia? The most beautiful giraffe I see for me, my sisters, I was stupid to think that the Canadian giraffe is small, but after this video, I think it is the biggest and the best ❤❤❤
I raise Suffolks also, great video to explain the breed. Why are some missing wool? I had a lamb early this year have a cold with a fever and she had "wool break" as a result. Praise the Lord, she did not get pneumonia. Is there another cause for wool loss? Any help will be appreciated.
Hi Holly. I am not a veterinarian but from our experience, patchy wool can be caused by several things. Stress of some sort is one - like extreme weather condition changes, weaning, lambing, moving, sickness, etc. Sometimes it's a sign of lice.
@@EwetopiaFarms thank you, I was just wondering what caused your sheep to lose their wool in case it happens here. I don't usually have this problem. I had a wether that had a strip of wool missing from the top of the hip down but we could never figure it out. No lice, possibly stress from weather as he is about 12 years old. He recovered on his own with the Lord's help.
I'm on Canada so can't comment on New Zealand lambs. Suffolk sheep are found all around the world. I believe they are the number 1 terminal sire for meat lambs
Hi there! where are you located if you don't mind me asking you... I'm planning to start sheep farming.. I would like to get some advice from you. Thanks
@@EwetopiaFarms In the video you can see the molting of wool from the neck, belly and generally you can see sheep that are shedding quite well, so what to call it? I read that the white variety suffolk sheds wool, you can see that this gene is there somewhere :)
@@EwetopiaFarms hmm, many breeds moult / shed in spring, even wool sheep may have such a characteristic in their genes, it does not have to be any stress, Romanov for example, after some time and rams moult if not trimmed.
The meat of some breeds just taste better than others. Suffolk is one of the best tasting. Katadin just doesn't taste that good to me, and that is about the only ones they raise around me here in the south US any more.
Now im going to have to raise a couple of suffolks wethers, next spring. I can't imagine lamb tasting better than my katadin lambs? But I'm not sure the suffolks will thrive on my Rocky Hill side and seems most winters Temps go from freezing to 65 in a couple weeks. Only the fast shedders seem to thrive here. Couple suffolks weather's will be a good test though!😊
@@EwetopiaFarms for 2 years i gave him metacam its for horses but ok for sheeps its a painkiller and mobility is also for vhorses but ok for sheeps its a bit like cod liver oil it lubricates joints i spent 1000s on my sheeps they were rescued from being slaugtered i saved them i buy them 2012
it's quite encouraging for a young lad with a vision to do sheep farming!
Thanks. Suffolks are great sheep. Not for everyone but nothing is. They are our favorite!
suffock sheep are so sweet. and they have lovely faces. I got a suffock sheep cap today, lovely and warm it was/
Yes, they are beautiful sheep! I am glad you liked your hat. Merry Christmas!

Our breeding ewes were usually Suffolk and north country cheviot cross. Bred with a purebred suffolk ram or cheviot ram. Great sheep

So beautiful sheep
Thank you!
I love the American style 😊
Is shearing a time consuming activity??? I raise "hair sheep", which shed in spring time.
It takes two to three days a year to shear our sheep. I used to have Dorpers and Katahdins.
What made you want to get rid off the Katahdins?@@EwetopiaFarms
Please make video on
dorper sheep vs Suffolk sheep
I actually have a video on why we like Suffolk sheep and another on Dorper sheep if you check our videos 🙂

How often to you change the straw on the floor?
At least twice a year. Depends on how much build-up there is. In other videos, you will see us cleaning it out

Suffolk shedding wool?! Wow!
