I have the sig p226 legion without knowing much about handgun after I got my firearm license. Fell in love with it just by the first look an feel, and bought it instantly.
I once had a Sig Sauer P226 Navy(Mk 25). It had the Sig Nite Sights. The grips were a little hard on my hand, though. I sold it. Shouldn’t have done it. For $1,100.00, it was a great investment.
the p226 navy and the mk 25 are actually 2 different guns. a true p226 navy doesn't have a rail, they made some frankensigs later on using a navy slide with frames that had with the sig rail. but all mk25's come with a pic rail.
@@surfsidegunny4734 those were cool. all they did was take the black water logo's off and rebrand them as the tacops. if you still have the complete in box blackwater and it hasn't been tampered with, it might be worth something to collectors.
I'm a 15 years Air Force Vet (Combat Arms Instructor/Security Forces) and carried/trained troops on the Beretta M-9. Great firearm. As a civilian, I now own a CZ-75B Omega and a Sig P320 AXG Carry (LEO) all metal version! I trust my life with both!!!
I have a p229 elite and a p229 pro. I alternate between the 2 for my edc. I have plenty of other pistols but the p229 is by far my favorite. Top notch dependability, accuracy, and fit and finish. Once you shoot one you don't go back. 100% trust them with my life.
I have a sig p226 and am very pleased with it. Almost no recoil is felt, very precise, comfortable grip. does not misfire, does not break when falling on the floor.
I have used a sig P series pistol for edc for over 35 years. don't care much for the striker fired guns but the Mk 25, P226, p227, P228, and the M11-A1 are my goto faves. I have Legions also but for a standup, out of the box pistol you can't do any better. I carry the 9mm mostly, but the 40's and the 45's are all comfortable and accurate. I own glocks in the popular calibers but there really is no comparison. Sigs save lives and are always dependable. The Seals, SAS, and the CID/NCIS/military pilots trust then and so do I. My edc before them 1969-80 was a Browning Hi Power and a colt 1911. Keep them lubed and never a problem.
Was this made before the P226 X5-STAS was released? I have a P210 and several other Sigs but the new P226 X5 is phenomenal. Maybe P226/P226 X5 could share the spot. Good list all the same.
I own 5 of the 8 in this video. Looking to maybe add a P210 to the collection. My favorites are my P226 Legion SAO and limited run P220 carry Legion. My daily carry is a P365 on a WC P365 XL grip module.
I own a number of classic Sig P-series handguns. They’re my favorite. I’m not a huge striker fan, preferring the DA/SA platform. It’s discontinued, so not in your list; but my 227’s are my very favorite Sigs. I love my Legion 226, but those .45’s are awesome.
I have a German made 228. Love the decocking lever. Too large for conceal, but also surprised you left out the 365 XMacro. Very smooth to shoot with the compensated slide.
Right now, the only Sigs I own are the 1911 TacOps Carry in .45acp, and the P365. The P365, I’ve changed out the polymer frame with an aluminum frame from Icarus Precision and swapped out the 10rd mag internals and added Mag Guts internals to make them 12rd mags that are equal in size to the 10rd with the pinky extension. I’ve been looking at the 2011 format…but, all of a sudden…there’s the P226 ZEV. 😳 oh boy ….
I have 5 Sigs. A P239, P229, P229 Elite Equinox, P229 Pro, and 320 X-compact. Fortunately the 225-A1 mags work with my P239 since those are no longer available.
I have 7 SIGs and enjoy each of them, but if I had to pick it would be my P226 MK25 OHT or my P320 with a customized bronze flat trigger FCU. Actually I love to shoot all of them.
P229 Legion is the undisputed king. Period. All the best features of the P226 with a better trigger, better sights, AND slightly more compact to aid in concealment without sacrificing performance or capacity. It may, in fact, be the perfect edc.
I am a huge Sig fan boy. I have five P320s, but I have to admit that my favorite Sig is my P229 Elite Scorpion. I carried the P228/M11 for several year with the Army until the adoption of the P320 Carry/M18.
@@swashkiv7509 They are all P320s, but they are not all the same gun. You are correct. There are a ton of different guns in different brands, styles, configurations and calibers. The P225 is out of production. Has been for some time. There was a brief run of a P225-A1, but that too ended. Retailers who list them online will show OUT OF STOCK if they still show a listing at all.

I’m almost positive that the Sig P220 is the successor to the Sig P245 which is identical to the p220 accept it has a shorter grip only carry a single stack mag of 45acp. Reason I say this is because I own a Sig P245 with west Germany markings making it one of the last models made in west Germany before Sig moved here to the states. I’ve already done the research but your more then welcome to follow up with me who knows I could of mis-read something. Let me know what you find out.
there's no way the GSR is one of the highest selling 1911's in the U.S.. The p225-a1 was discontinued in 2019. The p220 is currently in both .45acp and 10mm auto. The HK VP9 replaced the sig p220 in 2020. The P320 is also in 10mm. The p228 was discontinued in 1997, for the p229, and the m11-a1 is a p229-1 not a p228. Also, in 2019 the secret service began replacing the p229's with Glock 19's. The navy SEAL's adopted the p226 navy and then later upgraded to the mk25 neither of which is a p226r.
The M11-A1 is not the same gun used by the military, as it has the SS slide. The M11 was a P228 with the carbon slide. I find this misleading by Sig to market it this way. Its identical to the P229, so what's the point in its existence? I might have answered my own question, it doesnt have the picatinny rail.
well, it's a p229-1 it has the ugly long extractor. but otherwise, I agree with you. i like the classic look i would just have to replace the slide for one with the old style extractor.
The amount of info you got wrong is astounding. The P220 isn't strictly made in 45acp... SIG makes a 10mm P220. The P320 is striker fired. Not DA, that is the P250 and discontinued. The P320 does not cock and release the firing pin with the trigger pull. The striker spring is compressed upon cycling the slide. The P320 does not have the same optic cut as the M17 & M18. Hence the new RDS that only works with the military version. The best modern SIG made is the P227 tacops. Which I'm sure you never heard of. Double stack 45 with 14 round mags. There are many other things you have wrong. But it would take paragraphs to tell you.
Hands Down the Sig Saur P226 and The P226 TACOPS with its short trigger reset for faster fallow up shots make it a solid choice for someone who practices the double tap technique and the TACOPS model also has the Ability to utilize the Sig Red dot sights custom made for it makes it a bit hard for any other handgun to compare specifically, it’s features and tried and true durability, compared to others within its price range in my opinion the P226 is one of the world’s finest Hand Guns for this reason …..side note: there is a good reason why the Navy SEALs adopted this side arm on top of that one thing to remember is and this goes for any firearm is to “PRACTICE” muscle memory is key to accuracy and without practice might as well just have it as a giant paperweight or display item…just saying
love the pistol, however a recent bad experience really disappointed me. used as a edc and the rose/gold coated areas all show corrosion and sig sauer will not cover it under warranty! very disappointing
I currently own a Sig P226 in the 2 tone configuration chambered in .40S&W. I really love this pistol as it is accurate and reliable. My Sig was my concealed carry piece for a long time till I got my Springfield Arms 1911 Ronin chambered in .45 ACP. That currently is my EDC weapon as it is slightly lighter weight and a little more compact with its single stack mag compared to the double stack mag in my Sig. That Sig is a lot of animal to carry around ccw but with the right holster it can be done.
