After battling tinnitus for well over 2 years and after trying pretty much EVERYTHING I learned that what helps my tinnitus isn't just one thing. In fact, most has to do with your overall wellness. Here are a few suggestions. B-12! Taking B-12 supplements has not only helped with my tinnitus but has helped restore my overall health. Also, sunlight and long walks. Jogs or runs can be a plus. Avoiding loud music or sounds would help to. Staying away from caffeine, greasy foods and or alcohol will help lower tinnitus by a lot. But my overall advise for tinnitus sufferers is to learn ways to cope with their tinnitus. Once you learn not to let it bother you so much it won't really matter.

@@heather6342 Not rude at all and I appreciate your comments and concerns. When first diagnosed with tinnitus I took a complete physical and had my blood checked as a precaution. Fortunately, all my levels were exceptionally well. Green color in just about every area; not one red! My thyroid also came back great! I thank my multivitamins coupled with light cardio workouts. I'm not on any type of diet but I try to watch what I eat. B-12 supplements were recommended to me by several other doctors as well as other tinnitus sufferers. I’ve had tinnitus for 26 years habituated for the most part but for two months now it has returned to louder levels. I came across this 8 khz “ flosser” track. When my tinnitus flares i grab my phone and this will miraculously pull the sound right out of my ear. About thirty minutes and it will usually settle back down. I do turn it on when i go to bed and lay my phone on my pillow. It works… it works. ! Thanks so much. !

It somewhat works for me, but I’m almost not even needing the white noise…might just try to find what my own tinnitus Hz are (I have a couple of pitches that ring simultaneously-yes it’s just awesome). My hope is to do a phase cancel. That’s how sound engineers remove some sounds from recordings. You’re welcome if that helps a scientist develop new tinnitus relief..just hone in on what frequencies your tinnitus is--pitch matching could phase cancel the ringing..dunno

Rose, if you're still out there, I want to tell you're not alone, it's been with me 50 plus years. This may sound crazy but my solution was to make friends with it. Long ago I made the decision to stop worrying, and stressing about it, I said to myself it's there, it's part of life, move on, and let's make this thing a positive. I joke with my wife it masks her snoring. Anyway, for all those who have come here looking for relief, start by letting go of the negative, focus on the positive, and move on. 🖖💤😎

Thanks for making this. I have had tinnitus apparently all my life, I never even considered that others didn't have this, thought it was an artifact of the ability to hear. I have slept with a fan since being a toddler & have had aquariums since 13 so most of my life I have the sound of water trickling in the background. It was only a few years ago that I was shocked to find this was not normal! I noticed it got louder in places where it was silent & attributed to the gain in my brain being turned up to search for any little sound. Anyway, I am fairly young & had a stroke recently & the tinnitus has been so loud that it began to bother me. I found this last night & listened to it until I fell asleep last night & found the relief from it I was looking for. Today it was it was much more at my baseline, thank goodness! I am not a fan of pharmaceuticals & would be unwilling to add to what I am already having take so I am glad I found this, it truly helps, bless you for putting it on here again.😇

@Janet Van Brunt , it is such an odd & frustrating thing, being able to sense things others can not. I am also on the autism spectrum, didn't know until my late 30's, well actually I have known since I was 6, I was not like others but I didn't know there was a name for it or that I wasn't alone (females often present very differenty then males & socially camouflage better which is just being recognized more). I guess for most of my life, I didn't try to compare myself to others, good thing too, lol. I am fascinated as to why or how it could get so much louder after a stroke. I really haven't look into this more yet but I am willing to bet this is more common after a head injury. Thankfully, this really did help bring me back down to *my* more normal tolerable levels. Hope it gets quieter for you.🙏💓Thanks for your comment!

The longer I was there I would start to only hear sounds of birds, wind softly blowing through the trees and possibly a brook bubling away. I miss those days and years. For the past 3 decades I now have a constant companion, 24/7. Not pleasant, interrupts my life, avoiding things that have no noise. Tv or radios constantly on. I keep hoping to find one of these that work. Sometimes I find one that helps. It’s curious how such an annoying horrible sound for most people is absurd. While people like us get some relief.

The noise in my head has definitely increased over last couple of years to the point I sought medical attention earlier this year. A visit to the hospital, a little look and hearing test confirmed I have Tinnitus. The medical professional suggested hearing aids may help but wouldn't recommend them just yet. Another suggestion was to talk about it, talk to people group at meetings for example but to be mindful not to wollow in self pity. Literally ZERO help really and ZERO that can fix it. Happy this works for you, if it is in fact genuine, I've tried a few of these back ground noise and help videos - ZERO help for, so far....Can only be hopefull for future breakthrough.

I stumbled upon your “Tinnitus Flosser Masker at 8kHz,” and was reading the comments as I listened to the steady tone for about 3 minutes. At about the 3-minute mark, I paused the video, and-to my utter astonishment and disbelief-my tinnitus was reduced by about 80 percent. I am 65 years old, and have suffered with loud, annoying tinnitus for many, many years. I went to an audiologist probably 6 years ago to get help with this problem. She said there was no cure, but they gave me a hearing test and said I had hearing loss between 4kHz and 8kHz-I guess that explains why music can sound dull, particularly cymbals and other high-pitched instruments. Anyway, let me pause this now and see if the level of tinnitus is still reduced-yes, it is still reduced by a lot. I’m going to listen to these tones awhile longer just to see if my tinnitus level stays low, or how long until it returns. This may be something I come back to on a daily basis-perhaps listen for 30 minutes or so at a time. I’m cautiously optimistic at this point. Having said that, I’m sure my tinnitus didn’t develop overnight, so I’m not expecting it to go away, if at all, overnight. Still……

That is a great approach. A bit of noise masking can offer some relief. The '"shine" on the music, cymbals, acoustic guitar strings, and top of brass and metallic instruments goes away with age.

I've been listening to this every night for at least thirty minutes over the last three weeks. It has definitely turned down the volume of my tinnitus. My tinnitus is blood sugar related so that is pretty frustrating. I am happy some of you got what I got from listening.
If I may I would like to make a suggestion. Because of my pain and tinnitus, I stay as busy as my body lets me. I am not mobile so I sculpt with polymer clay, watercolor paint, coloring books for when I am bored, watching tv or TH-cam at the same time. Most of the time I am doing three things at once. Art, visually stimulating tv, and mentally stimulating computer stuff. This helps a ton.
The other day the power went out and I thought I would go mad from the silence around me so all I could hear was the high pitched squeal in my head. I set up a stand to hold a book open in front of me, grabbed some clay and the battery powered radio, and took some deep breaths to calm my nerves. After a few pages, I didn't notice it. I knew it was there but I had meditated to relax the nerves it jangles.
    I hope this helps someone.
I live in constant nerve and muscle pain, not to mention Erythromelalgia which makes my skin feel like I am being scalded or burned on a bad day. It is all over my legs. This is unrelenting chronic and acute. So, when I developed tinnitus I thought "Can life get any worse?" Never ask that question, please.

I told her about Dalesnales noises and played them....she has heard of them.
I have hearing aids now because of low & high picked hearing loss that has been complicated by several, 7 to be exact, mismanaged infections, low sodium which I was hospitized for, since last November. I already had an anxiety disorder which was a recipe for tinnitus.
I have generators in the hearing aids now....she does not like the word MASKER as she says one should NOT completely MASK the tinnitus.
She does like the selection of all the noises and how I use them to go to sleep or when I take the hearing aids out.
Tinnitus and getting rid of it IS A PROCESS and please find a competent Audiologist that is willing to listen to you and see you once a week, mine does not charge for the weekly visits and the help, tune up, questions, and mainly how to live while going through the process of helping the brain stop the fight or flight it is going through.
These noises are are a GOD SEND for all of us but just remember not to completely tune out the ringing.....keep yourselves positive and active and as corney as this may sound , keep strong, calm and believe you will be healed from this freaking monster....it takes work but know that people are out there like Dalesnale and good Audiologists to help you all.
I like the FLOSSER & VIOLET NOISE......I am listening to it now.

Be kind to yourself. Tinnitus doesn't thrive in calm environments. It's all about daunting at times. Mine fluctuates so I've learned to live one minute at a time and enjoy a good laugh, friends and my dogs.
One night I was on somewhat of distress and my chocolate lab jumped up in my lap and laid on me for 45 minutes (he usually only stays 5 minutes). He was a warm blanket of comfort and he knew it. AMAZING creatures.
Please also realize you are never alone in this. Many of us hear the same sounds. Also look up Julian Cowan Hill. He has great advice. He overcame it completely.

Thanks for creating this video. In my case this frequency is the only one that masks it. Pausing the video for a second, the tinnitus sounds comes up, resuming it, it goes away. It's important and a relief to the "same brain that produces this non-sense", that the hiss that you hear actually comes up from a real source of sound, not from nowhere.

  • @kennethdjordan

Every sound can be recognized as a note. I would listen, hum, and try to “tune” myself to the pitch of my tinnitus. Successful, but too much burden of concentration.
And now this vid- I love it. Not exactly my “note”, and I can feel a little dissonance when the volume balances. It’s actually a good thing. There’s a hint of a battle, and it dissipates as your tone wins out as mine becomes overpowered and retreats.
I appreciate the many efforts put forth for free on youtube, and I have my favorites. But this one stands out boldly and vanquishes the intruder rapidly, like no other. Bravo! It really does work!
Yes, the demons return quickly in its absence. The metaphors are endless. But now the tinnitus doesn’t have to be.
I think this effort will be a key building block to a non-surgical everyday solution to this widespread annoyance, as time and progress march on.

Have you tried “Liam stop’s tinitus?” I have seen lots of video’s from his, it seems he knows what he’s doing. I have also got Tinnitus, well, I think so because I had that ringing sound when I got a cold. My ear got clocked and I went to see my docter. He fixed the clocked ear but the ringing stayed, after a week it was gone and then after two days back again. Some days I won’t hear it, but some days it is real loud and then this sounds is good to hear. Hope your tinitus get’s better. Just look at Liam and tinitus on TH-cam. Who knows maybe it works.

This is good. I'm been to my audiologist but they aren't able to get this high a frequency in my hearing aids. They told me to put up with a lower frequency which only meant I was not hearing two annoying sounds. Because I can't get on with it they've written to my GP implying I'm not taking their advice and am wasting their time.
A sound file I have done myself at around 7000Hz and much more harsh sounding works the best for me, despite it's harshness I don't find it bothersome and I can hear just fine with it playing in the background. It also causes a sensation in my head which appears to cancel out the dizziness I always feel aswell, whereas white noise like this does not. But other people can hear that harsh sound when I play it quietly in headphones! and I think this white noise will be fine so it's the next best option. I have recently found that Bose noise cancelling headphones give me a sensation of pressure equalisation in my head which has also been helping me concentrate. I've been using them just for the noise cancelling feature but maybe both them and this sound file will equal the effects of my preferred tone.

just found this, haven’t done much masking, too busy looking for a cure, doing audio notch, Neosensory, supplements etc etc. I’ve had hissing tinnitus for about 7 years and I feel like I can feel it in my head and ears, like it’s part of me. This masker feels like outside noise, and I can’t hear my own!! What a nice break to recuperate , regroup and calm the nerves from constant noise. Fantastic, thanks for doing this!!
