I have played drums for 10 years and I never considered another instrument but because of your channel I have ordered myself a Jackson js2 spectra and I can’t wait to start learning bass man. Thank you
Awesome Josh! Thanks for showing the world the (mostly hidden) importance of bass. Unbelievable how much Clifford influenced the whole game in his short time - he'll be remembred forever and it's hard to imagine how things would have went without this miserable accident. Kudos Josh and RIP Cliff Burton
Josh, if you read this, or anyone in the bass channel, I am a big fan, please PLEASE, if you could explain some of your faster techniques I would be so grateful, I can't even begin to practice at a slower pace if I don't even know exactly how to apply the 3 finger technique you use for 16th notes, I am hellbent on learning disposable heroes or dyer's eve but don't know where to start with the faster parts. Thanks! love the channel
What are you looking to / asking to know? Just practice consistency until your fingers feel strong, 3-2-1 pattern over and over. At first you'll naturally want to "gallop" or play "triplets" but you'll work out getting a 3-2-1-3 2-1-3-2 1-3-2-1 3 -2-1-3 etc etc pattern to sound even. Cliff played with 2 fingers pretty much exclusively, just play with confidence and build up to it! You got this :)
@@AttitudeCastle wow thanks a lot, that is pretty much exactly what I needed to know about the 3 finger patterns, in regards to Cliff, well... he didn't record dyer's eve or One but I see your point, thanks!
@@alahad Well yes that was Jason you're right, but everyone who's come "since Cliff" has worked with the ground he laid down, Dyers was a pic I'm pretty sure. Happy to answer questions, long time bass player / teacher and have "taught" 3 finger technique for years, played that way as long as I can remember. Practice normal slow chugging along bass lines with the 3 fingers till it feels (and sounds) comfortable and consistent, then when you want to go fast it'll come naturally :)
@@AttitudeCastle thanks a lot, I've started already and feeling pretty comfortable with the four horsemen fast riff, now to tweak the tone I want, then I'll see about these other songs.
Dope video. Great playing as always, bass sounds killer and the background is a nice touch. Brings back memories of being twelve years old going to mall arcade and trying to avoid the scary drug dealers, lol.
I requested this cover ( In the Fade to Black video) of the song I love most about metallica and I don't know how I saw it 5 days after its 😔 premiere, but it was completely worth 🤘😎
Metallica fans might remember the bass player's audition the band had around 15 years ago. One of the candidates was Les Claypool of the band Primus. I think it would have been a MASSIVE success for Metallica if they had hired him, I swear God. I just realized that Cliff Burton and Les Claypool are quite similar in their approach to playing bass as a whole independent instrument and not just a side instrument.
This so cool 🆒 almost as good 😊 to the Original Metallica Song 🎵 nice bass guitar 🎸 Cover by Metallica and only that the Late ⏰ Metallica Bassist Cliff Burton would be so proud of you 👍 for playing his Music 🎶 skills on bass guitar Congratulations 🥳 on his career and success
.....hopefully not for me....the bell, which tolls for somebody.....take a look to the sky, just before you die, it's the last time you will....thanks for bringing the lyrics back to my mind
Josh is the most important part of the signal chain
Correction : Josh is the signal chain 😎
@@yoshiki.g1450 sorry my fault
So wise words
One of my favorite Metallica songs of all time. It has such a bad ass bass line
Holy shit the bass tone is almost identical to the original
not even close
it is a beautiful cover but the tone is not the same
@@philipp.bernard5267 tone is more modern
@@kame9 it is true
but is different than cliff's
both great but different
Not identical at all but still sounds great and fits the song really well. Another great and impressive cover by Josh da Man!
I love how authentic Josh is. If I didn't already know how to play this song, I'd be looking up to him to learn it.
Josh is now my way into any metallica bassline
I have played drums for 10 years and I never considered another instrument but because of your channel I have ordered myself a Jackson js2 spectra and I can’t wait to start learning bass man. Thank you

The tone is like exact! Crazy! You guys are cool for making so many metallica covers
Your bass tone is what makes it special and unique, every one should have his own tone
Definitely felt the spirit of Cliff Burton in this one. Absolutely love it.
BEST bassist of the World!🤘
I learn play for bass because of this video!🤘
Those power chords are killer! I always wondered what Cliff was doing there.. nice 👍
Absolute monster! Perfect cover
That tone is fucking perfection. **chef's kiss!**
I love josh's covers they're always on point and spectacular
Josh in beast mode, must be Saturday morning! 🔥🔥🤘😈🤘🔥🔥
Intro tone's spot on! As for the rest of the song's tone, it's different to Cliff imo, but just as great. Awesome cover by Josh again
Because it's a dingwall
because for the rest of the song the bass gets buried under the mix
@@ronjozefcuyos8462 WHAT?!
@@ronjozefcuyos8462 no it doesnt
Sounds to me like the intro actually still has the original's bass in the mix.
Just got off work, gonna be blasting this on the way home. Rock on. \m/
Tone is spot on. Anthrax, Maiden and Metallica bringing me back to highschool. What a great tone, and a great pick off a classic album.
It's not even close. Have you even listened to the original bass track?
That said the cover is extremely good
And here it is babyyyyyy, love that you’ve been showing Metallica the love they deserve!! Thanks for all you and the team do for us bass players!!
sounds better than the original. my go to song when lifting heavy in the gym

The solo is accurate. The man is a beast!
There's only one Cliff Burton and buddy you just channeled him. 10/10!
