Actually very tempted to get the Viper-7 Black Metal. There is just something completely ridiculous (in the best way!) about a blacked out, 27" scale 7 string SG shape guitar. I love how even a pickup called the Black Winter isn't even black enough for this guitar so ESP go for the 'blackened' version xD TBH the Ibanez *looks* more like my kinda thing at first glance. That lovely woodsy finish with the beveled body - looks like it's a finish that shows off the natural body wood though I could be wrong? Reverse headstock all in one line also my favourite. Plus I do really like having more features rather than less...multiple pickups, coil split options etc. But despite all that I am just so drawn to the Viper...it really does have something special about it. I reckon it sounded better in your demo here too. It does appear the newest version of the Viper-7 does have a coil-split option on that single bridge pickup which makes it a bit more versatile. But really if I get this Viper it's so I can have an absolute unit of a djent machine. I already have an Ibanez AZ24047 for the versatile stuff (and actually finding the more traditional neck shape on that very comfortable even though I always seemed to prefer thin necks which makes me even more happier about the Viper-7 as it apparently has quite a chunky neck (have you found this yourself?). I reckon a neon pink strap and fret wrap would go perfectly with the blacked out look!
The Viper-7B Black Metal is nowadays one of my go to guitars, especially for my band Kollectivist (you should check us out, we have some dj0nty riffs there with old school Swedish melodic death metal vibes!). The RGIXL7 was a good guitar, but I just prefer more Viper-shape and the feel of the ESP (and LTD). Ibbys just aren't my thing, so I sold that RGIXL7. The neck was definitely much thinner in Ibby, but 'cause I have short but fat fingers, I NEED the chunkyness in the neck (I'm also used to in THICC necks 'caise I'm an old Les Paul and SG guy), thicker necks just feel much comfier in my playing. Nowadays I also have the ESP LTD M-7HT Baritone Black Metal, and that beats the Viper in some cases. If I was still owning the RGIXL7, I would make a comparison between that and M-7HT. But I could honestly say, that the M-7HT would ANNIHILATE the RGIXL7. I have made a comparison between those Black Metals, here you go: th-cam.com/video/I4ge6gYM4QA/w-d-xo.html&t
After wanting the Viper7BM for many years I finally got the Phoenix7BM and absolutely LOVE it. The Fishman Fluence split coil is sick. The neck is basically a wide “thin C” shape (I’d assume same as on the Viper) which is chunky compared to an Ibanez but perfectly fit despite its added width for hands used to an SG (which mine are, and it’s thinner than most LP necks: a great playable shape even for those of us without spiderfingers). The Phoenix7 is the first guitar I’ve ever bought both brand new and never-played in the 30+ years I’ve been sucking as a guitarist and I have to say it’s just a dream and plays far above its price point. I’d assume the Viper7 is the same; I’d have gotten it if I didn’t already have an SG and didn’t want to have some more variety in body shape.
@@LateHonkola ok thx, can u please do a clean demo? i am thinking about to buy, and record some black metal and i like to do creepy intros, clean sound with delay. and i wanna see if i could use it for that as well, would be very nice dude. sorry for my english and thx for ur answer :D
@@zabby7382 Have you checked the actual Viper-7B demo I've made? There's some clean stuff. It deals surprisingly good the cleans, even if the SD Black Winter is so high output pickup. th-cam.com/video/nHSwWPz9ES8/w-d-xo.html
@@LateHonkola Oh yea, now I checked it out, nice cover btw and sick moves :) Thx actually sounds better than a singlecoil IMO, atleast for that stuff what I wanna do. It would be nice if you could do more stuff with this guitar, until I have got it too, I fell in love with it.
Ltd sounds amazing, really brutal, on 🔥.

Both of them are huge and beast🤘
I have that same ibby and I love it. I did however changed the pickups to bareknuckle impulses and it sounds stupid brutal with clarity
You look like you enjoy the feel of the Ibanez, a lot more. I just bought the Viper 7 Black Metal...eagerly awaiting UPS.
I actually like the Viper-7 a lot more... :D
Wonder how these would sound with some Black Winter pickups.
Killer hopefully I got a pair of white ones to throw in one once I get one
does it have got a push pull coil split volume knob?? the viper
Nope, unfortunately it doesn't.

the rgixl7 sounds like its missing the low end, maybe its the preamp or even pickups but idfk
Vraiment bien.
this or the esp e2 viper baritone? if you could only have one.
E-II Viper Baritone. It's just better.
@@LateHonkola thanks bro, it's my next purchase.
How has the viper held up?
Really well, it's my go to "monster seven" actually. One of my most favorite seven strings ever.
Rgixl7 I'm getting is got Dimarizo Fusion Pick ups they are rectangle not like that one
\m/ LTD ALL THE WAY \m/ that ibanez looks amazing tho !!!
I've actually sold that Ibby away, and as a replacement I bought the ESP LTD M-7HT Baritone Black Metal. Fits my hands better than the Ibby. 😅
@@LateHonkola niceeee congrat bro...
i want my self an LTD SC607 B :) ... thats my dream guitar :)
Oh look, the circus is in town.
ibanez has more clarity
Interesting
