He is a 6'2" PG who is known for dunking. Unfortunately that is the least important trait for his position. Ball handling, passing, outside shot and defense are probably not NBA level. His natural position probably is SG but he is way too short to play that position in the NBA.

Just look at Terry Rozier of the Miami heat and former university of Louisville stand out. He is generously listed as 6'1 and he is a successful NBA 2 guard. Joe Dumars of the Detroit Pistons was 6'3. Anyways, I think this guy should be given a better chance at at least landing a spot on an NBA roster. Sure, he is getting his minutes in the developmental league, but I think that he would be better off practicing daily with NBA level players.

It's so simple: Let him play and he'll be a superstar. That would've been a no-brainer in the Bird-Magic-Jordan Era, but today, weirdly odd prejudices dominate the NBA concerning what a point guard can do.

    • @FranklinGray

Maybe last year. He changed his game up some this year. Less 3-point (39%) but higher PPG because he's attacking. There are teams that want an attacking PG because of how it opens up shooters outside, gets the other team in foul trouble, etc. I get it that teams like the Warriors want a pass-first, like Kerr said, but there are many who Mac would be perfect to play for. I hope the G-League MVP gets him more serious looks by teams this off season.

This video should have thousands of views. Mac has it all. Let me list what I have seen, of his many skills. The list: SPEED, can split two, three, to the basket. I have to say again, speed as he blows past the taller and skilled players. His up and under shots leave players looking down at here feet in disbelief. Dunk's,... enough to said about this ability. His left and right SKY-HOOKS have not been seen used by many players. Seven footers and more are at his control. ASSISTS, look at the numbers, REBOUNDS, again look at the numbers. THREE point plays and drawing fouls, that often count for four points. His JUMP height of 47" matches the best in the game and better than most. So much more to say,... helped win a state High School Championship, helped win the G- league championship. Holds the highest G scoring of 44 point for Osceola Magic. Lastly, though the Magic have a well staffed team he has proven his worth and MUST be given a full NBA contract.

@@lordoffaiyum9727 Payton Pritchard is not better than Mac. Pritchard has averaged 22 minutes a game in 76 games this season and his stats are only 8.6 PPG, 3.2 Rebounds and 3.1 assists. He is very mediocre.
In the very little time Mac has gotten any minutes in the NBA he has averaged 12.5 PPG, 5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 45% FG. If Mac played 76 games and averaged 22 minutes per game, like Pritchard, his stats would be way better than Pritchard's. The NBA only wants to sign mediocre white Americans. They know Mac would embarrass people they overpay and who are people's "favs". Facts are facts.
I almost forgot...G-League MVP and leading scorer this year. 51/40/86. Zero reason why Mac isn't on a team and Pritchard is making multi-millions over him. Name one...I'll wait. Also, Luka and Jokic are from overseas. That makes a difference when they pick "white people".

Let's not be naive here. Maybe the best (certainly most interesting to watch) players in the NBA are Luka Dončić and Nikola Jokić. Either ignored or hated on by most black commentators. Why did prominent commentator call for getting rid of the Euro players? Why is Caitlin Clark attacked by former WNBA players? Where is Jeremy Lin? Why has the drumbeat of "overrated" already starting around Cooper Flagg, maybe the best two way talent in a generation? Would you care to predict whether an NBA team could beat the best Euro teams? The NBA is about providing a certain "balance" or over balance if you will. It is not about putting the best players on the floor. Imagine for fun the combination of Jokić and McClung - literally undefendable.

You don't have to lie to support your weak argument. 99% of the people in power in the NBA from the owners to the GM's are white. If MM was good enough, he wouldn't be in the G League. You can't go by highlights alone and say, "Wow...he's awesome." I can show you just my highlights too, including high flying dunks, and I played against NBA players in my youth.
