Spud was the best small man dunker. Actually 5 ft 5 in, no muscle mass and couldn't palm the ball. Unbelievable!! I remember after he won the slam dunk contest, a team of scientists at a Texas university tried to determine why he was able to jump so high without much muscle mass or height. They're explanation was he had abnormal fast-twitch muscle response. Basically, he is a human flea. 😆
I went to college with Spud and you should have seen the stuff he did at school when no cameras were around. We watched his dunk contest win in the school cafeteria that afternoon.
I used to be able to dunk easy in high school at 6’1, now I’m in college and 6’4 and can’t dunk anymore smh this video motivates me to start working out on my vertical again
I think for that particular dunk the defender was actually being kind and trying to make sure he didn't fall harshly. Like in an extended clip they look at each other, and bro gives him a nod like "you good?" then lets him go. I could possibly be thinking about a different dunk, but I'm decently confident its that one.
Isiah was as complete an NBA PG as anyone who has played. He could do any and everything all of today's top stars do. He could go coast-to-coast like Ja, handle like John Wall, control tempo like Chris Paul, shoot like Steph, and score in bunches like Donovan Mitchell or Trae. His game was tuned to winning, first at Indiana and then with the Bad Boy Pistons. It was rare when we got to see him unleashed, but when needed, he would put on a show ...
never seen that before. The way he looks down at all the bigs he just skyed over while hanging from the rim...bro looks inhuman, like that video of a gibbon pulling a tiger's tail then retreating 10 feet up a tree in an instant
Didn't that violate the rule where players behind the 3pt line can't get in before the ball hits the rim? Edit: I realised which one you were talking about🤦♂
Nice list...But I was hoping to see Dee Brown...A tick over 6ft but I just remember getting into NBA...This guy was dunking over people, doing tip-ins and blocking people (There's a ridiculous 2 handed swap out there) A dunk over 7'7 George Muresan...He even goes around Jordan on baseline for a Jam... Then the 91 dunk comp where he pumped up he's Reeboks...That was so iconic...
Listen, this is why I LOVE point guards above any other player position. Small point guards to be exact. I'm 5ft8 and have weighed 145 all my life. I don't know for sure but it's gotta be genetics because I'm 47 and I can still dunk. I've never played ball at school because of the pressure. When I see Nate Robinson and Isiah Thomas do it, especially Big Head who's a half inch taller than me and heavier, it makes me feel like it's me in there. I've never seen Rondo dunk though and that was the highlight for me right there. I live in Louisville and have played with Rajon and I've never seen him do anything but make plays so that's crazy
Craziest dunk from a smaller player was AI in his rookie season. He out jumped Marcus Camby and dunked the ball on an offensive rebound. It was wild seeing him get up over a 7’ Camby
That my friends were the times when basketball ment everything to us. That Kj dunk on HAkeem was everything. I remember that like it was yesterday and I'm 51 yrs old.
Notice how the “little guys” are essentially tossed into the first row as soon as they make contact with the bigger guys under the basket. It’s like a tennis ball hitting a basketball…
I first saw PackMan at a preseason exhibition game against Seattle. He juked past Gary Payton [!] and then dunked on Jack Sikma--climbed his chest and bounced the ball off his head. I turned to my friend and said, I think that guy just made the team.
I always find the averzge dunker was incredible but have even a bigger respect for the little dunker because they have to increase her vert higher than the other to dunk.Big respect💪🏽
Wow I did not know that Donovan Mitchell is only 6,1 , he looks taller, 2:41 however , the commentator says he is 6,2 . like I said he looks taller than 6,1 3:06
I know it’s not a dunk, but the most impressive jumping ability I’ve ever witnessed was Nate Robinson’s block on Yao Ming. That’s an insane amount of hops for a little guy to have.
Most people believe that height is the most important thing when it comes to dunking, especially for short guys. It's important but wingspans and standing reaches are equally, if not more, important for dunking. For example, Carsen Edwards got an amazing dunk at :35 seconds into this video. Edwards measured 5'10.75" at the NBA Combine...but he's got a wingspan of 6'6.25" and his standing reach is 7'10.5." Both of those numbers are freakish and most little men dunkers also have great wingspans and standing reaches so their dunks are very impressive but not as much as most people think. In Edwards' case, he only needs to jump 31-32 inches to dunk.
I only did players 6'1" and under, that's why you won't see any Baron Davis, Ja Morant, Derrick Rose, etc.
Donovan Mitchell was 6'2''... The announcer even said so himself!
@Max Nah mans 6’2 but ian worried that much about one inch…. Pause.
Don’t matter, still fire video💯💯💯
Derrick rose isn’t a true 6ft 3 . Real rose fans know he more like. 6’1 6’2. Mitchell probably taller honestly but it’s cool we know about rose
@@jamesdodson1780 you can Google it, he’s 6’1”
Kevin Johnson dunking on Hakeem was iconic.
Bruh for real!
My brothers favorite player
With the legendary Dick Enberg on the call.
His and Starks on MJ and other Bulls.
Two of the greatest dunks ever, what an impact.

5'7 broo 👍
@@suavelosofficial8639 Spud Webb is the gold standard of 'little' man dunking

Good analogy 👍🏼. I’d put Bo Jackson in there too
Nate always had the best lil man dunks
Truth! Love the fire!
And he only got one highlight how that work 😂
Absolutely
Sweet cut through with the between the legs move to get open for the dunk, too!
Most overrated dunker ever.
Man, Spud could really fly

You should be at least be able to run graze. If you grew 3 more inches and could dunk.

The Giddy Yup Ride em Cowboy dunk is a very lethal dunk indeed 😮😢
I was a good bit taller than Spud Webb when I was in 8th grade. Had a 10 minute conversation with him outside my middle school waiting for my ride.
The first clip is why dunking is necessary in some situations. If Tyus Jones had tried a layup instead then Lebron would of blocked it
When Kevin Johnson dunked on Mark Eaton it was like he was taking the elevator up to the upper room.
