    I’m 43 years old man originally from Egypt ... 30 years ago I rember my mum used to make everything on this stove... cooking and boiling water for washing... they are very reliable and I use to love the sound off the flame and sometimes sleep beside the stove watching my mother cooking..

    Can you use methalated spirit to pre heat it rather then dentured alcohol

    Trust me - these Stoves are far more efficient and reliable than depicted here, this is not a fair representation of their performance.

    What other alternatives could be used if kerosene is unavailable ?
    Pertrol/diesel could be used as well ?

    The government in the U.K. have said that there is a possibility that we will have rolling blackouts this winter. The gas reserves are 1% and declining. No wonder these things are sold second hand for close to 100 Pounds is some cases.

      No, only kerosene will provide decent results.

    The video gave me the creeps. He was burning an open flame right next to a bunch of dried leaves.
