In ds’s there different to Dsi you have to turn it Of the. Turn it on to show the game that’s how it is with the old Ds Lite it’s to do with the motherboard how they update on the 3ds and upwards that’s my knowledge on the Ds lites hope this helps dude
Yeah, original DS and DS Lite did not support hot swapping game cards. You can still find the manuals on Nintendo's website that explicitly say to turn the system off before inserting or removing a game card. www.nintendo.com/consumer/downloads/ds_english.pdf

@@Retrogranddad In case you don't realize, the old gen ds Consoles have to be off before card insertion.
This was the motivation I needed to persist on the slightly out of place pin and keep at it! DS saved!!
The ds doesn't read the card unless it's turned off when you insert the game card.

You need to switch it off before you put the game in or it won't read it. It won't show if you put the game in when it's switched on. 😂😂😂
