Bro once I listened to the copy I could immediately tell the difference in sound quality. It sounds so unclear and foggy, while the real one sounds clear and filling. I own one and I must say it is an amazing sound.
I actually forgot to mentioned that the copy / fake has some really LOUD notifications sounds. Every single notification sound like from the start up, saying what mode your on and also shutting down are super annoying. Oh and not forgetting the low battery warning, I suggest you don't use this to fall asleep because it will wake up with the low battery warning (yep, it happened to me).

Almost imediatly I was able to tell the difference between the real and copy. Infact the copy is a bad one at that. The logo badge was the DEAD giveaway for me. I use JBL speakers on a professional level and know the distinct quality that goes into such speakers. Their consumer line is the same way. I have the Flip 4 and really love how it sounds for a little bluetooth speaker.
How do you like using JBL speakers and more on a professional level? Currently I run the sound board in my school that is connected to 56 channels, it’s a Yamaha TF5, we are also connected to 2 JBL subs(not sure the type) and four Yamaha speaks that hang from the ceiling racks. I’ve always been interested and liked running the sound desk and playing around with the EQ and ect, same with our lights too, made my own program ‘show’ for them. Was thinking about becoming a Sound and it light guy when I was older, hence why I’m wondering for your feedback:) God bless

I got 2 from walmart. One shipped which was oddly listed at a discounted price. One I picked up directly at the store. I played music on them side by side. It was clear one was a fake. Crazy stuff man, from the same item listing.

I love how the fake one is in a way better that it has a usb, microSD and Aux which the original could really use... also i hate the original radiators. I love the ones the flip 4 had
@@pharaohsmagician8329 I think the ones of the 5 are ugly. The 4 looked so much better. The ones on the 6 at least made of metal but still i highly prefer the flip 4. In general its better in my opinion. It still got an aux, it looks better. And you can trust the waterproofness way more as no connectors (USB C) are exposed. The flip 4 is easy to remove the front back with a flat screwsdriver. That way you can if u feel like it exchange the front convers with another color or just replace it if it breaks (or if u wanna clean it). The flip 5 has that possibility too but its harder and the flip 6 is impossible of doing that. Also not that important the flip 4 still has a good long band your hand actually fits through. Flip 5 and 6 have a small band that your hand wont even fit through. It just decorative there... the flip 4 has 2 speakers, the flip 5 and 6 only have one long speaker. If it sounds better or not is questionable. It might have a little better bass but not really noticeable. They all have their pros and cons. But I recommend only considering between the 4 and the 6. The 5 just aint it. Its a not good enough to be a flip 4 and too bad to be a 6 too.
Other differences are the fake has a "1" in place of the "I" in FL1P, and the speaker grille is crooked. The sound quality is vastly better with the real JBL, the fake is a joke!
i've seen those copies sell for 1/3 the price of the real one. You get what you pay for. People on a budget might choose the much cheaper copy. People more concerned with quality sound, can pay 3 times more for the real deal.
I have a DINDIN bluetooth speaker, I really like the sound quality, the lighting, it makes me happy every time I use it, I have had it for a year, and this product deserves more like.
Since i have a flip 6 the detail that i noticed to know which 1 was fake is the plastic finition at the end of the 2 side, yep little detail of perfection make the difference
You forgot to say some things. In the real one, when the partyboost mode is turned on, the light round the turn on and the bt button lights up but on the fake one it lights from the moment that it turns on. Also, the real one belong the turn on button writes "FLIP5" but the fake one which writes "FL1P5". Also, the logo in the front of the speakers is different, which makes it easier (for me) to recognize the real from the fake speaker. U forgot to say about the writings on the bottom of the real JBL FLIP 5 that don't exist on the fake one and about the writings outside the passive radiators on the side braces of the real speaker and that the braces look like really cool in the real one with a close straight gaze. Nonetheless, the video u made comparing the two kinds of speakers (real and fake ones) contains some of the most usefull info about this comparison. I am a JBL fan to tell you these things even if they are not so important.
I've got a JBL Charge 2+ and instantly knew which one was the legit JBL speaker in this video. And I was also wondering, why he didn't mention the name "FL1P5" on the Flap of the fake one, maybe that was just too obvious? :D
I have just replaced my flip 4 with an authentic flip 5 because it simply died and would not turn on after 3 years as my computer audio. The 4 works intermittently but it is not reliable. I have had trouble with the new one connecting . It would loose the Bluetooth connection even though it was right beside the computer. That may be resolved now though I'm not sure why. With no audio jack I am dependent on the Bluetooth. When I used the flip 4 I only used the jack because it had problems maintaining a good connection too. Both have great sound when they work.
By looking at it I could understand which is fake. In fact you didn't mention this point also. The original one is having a transparent lining on the edge if you will put light behind the speaker. I recently purchased flip 5. Thank God it is real one. Sound quality is superb. Better than JBL Xtreme which I purchased in 2016
I assume people buy a speaker for the sound. There is no comparison when it comes to the sound. The real speaker has a more open sound and a much greater frequency response.
I used to have a fake xtreme something it broke down like 2 days after, I just bought a flip 5 in sand color it feels great and a billion times better.

Purchased a fake Flip 6 from ebay. I had a feeling it was going to be fake from the price but still purchased anyway. I got a full refund from the seller and they didn't ask for it back. I downloaded a bluetooth equalizer with a bass boost feature and it doesn't sound too bad for a freebie after messing around with the app.
I love how literally every cheap Cohina bluetooth speaker has that certain sound right before or after some sentence sayin "The bluetooth device is ready to pair" or something like that
I hope they change it and just remove the annoying lady and just use tones and make sure those tones are not super loud. Imagine turning it on late and night and you end up waking up your whole family haha
I could tell which one was fake just by looking at the JBL logo tag on the front, the fake one is slightly crooked compared to the real one if you look really close.
The only bad thing about the JBL 4 in the JBL 5 is they have a issue with the base where the base shorts out the power that's what happened to my JBL 4 the base shorted out the power supply
The JBL speakers have a rich, pronounced sound while the fake JBL speakers have a more flat, duller sound, I could even tell the difference on my laptop speakers.
The fake flip 5 made the same sounds as the one speaker I bought in Turkey like 5 years ago. Kinda makes me cry, but ima see how good the music quality from the fake flip 5 is, hopefully better then mine 30€ skateboard speaker haha

The original one, also the very expensive one, the three-dimensional stereo sound, and the base are crystal clear, and the sound is simply outstanding compared to the fake one. But, hey with that kind of cheap price don't expect more. I have very good ears but with a very poor wallet.

Don't care how it looks. I care about the sound quality and any additional features. Does it respond to voice commands ie from Google, Alexa, or direct access commands Can you talk & answer phone calls and notification prompts? Do/Will the volume automatically adjust to a lowered sound if music is playing at a medium to high volume so as not to alert the entire home to listen in? Can it be paired with other mini speakers to create a sound chain throughout an office floor or home?
Goddamnit. I have had my speaker for about a month and I could tell it wasn't the same quality for my old flip4 and always wondered if I got a bootleg. Turns out I did 😞 I been listening to inferior hardware the whole time!
For us that know something about JBL it's easy but for the other people that don't know about it will never know the difference. Especially for the older folks, I've seen comments on my channel about them buying one and finding out later it wasn't real when they watched my videos.

I have a JBL Flip 5 myself and I figured it out by the logo cause the one on top is rather larger and the buttons are rather thicker than the actual.

You can adjust the sound of the copy with Equalizer applications. You can enhance the Bass and other parameters. It really works

another give away is the JBL badge, it is slightly sunken into the grill on original, just a badge stuck on on copy.

For someone who play music outdoor, I would really choose the fake one that cost 1/5 the price.
A problem with the fake though is the battery is terrible so it won't last long. Not unless its always plugged into a powerbank.

Does it respond to voice commands ie from Google, Alexa, or direct access commands
Can you talk & answer phone calls and notification prompts?
Do/Will the volume automatically adjust to a lowered sound if music is playing at a medium to high volume so as not to alert the entire home to listen in?
Can it be paired with other mini speakers to create a sound chain throughout an office floor or home?
Answer to all those questions is no.

Goddamnit. I have had my speaker for about a month and I could tell it wasn't the same quality for my old flip4 and always wondered if I got a bootleg. Turns out I did 😞 I been listening to inferior hardware the whole time!
I knew which one was real bc of the red jbl thingy sticking out on the fake one
FL1P5 and FLIP5. USB-C colour ports. microSD slot... Too many differences before even You turn it on...
For us that know something about JBL it's easy but for the other people that don't know about it will never know the difference.
Especially for the older folks, I've seen comments on my channel about them buying one and finding out later it wasn't real when they watched my videos.
