  • A lot went down in Fort Smith during the reign of Judge Isaac Parker.
In this episode, I'm taking you to see the Fort Smith National Historic Site which includes Judge Parker's courthouse, replica gallows and the fight over inmates' living conditions.
After all that history, we will visit a new Italian restaurant in downtown Fort Smith!
    Let's go!

5:22 "Apparently I should have read another plaque." I want that on my headstone, 'cause that's my whole life in a nutshell. :)
This kind of history makes me appreciate the conveniences of modern life. Imagine sitting through a summer trial in that courtroom. It must have been rough.

Haha!!! I'm always a minute late and a plaque short. 😂
I think about those things too. The heat is so bad here in the summer. How did people get work done indoors with suits on?!

Couple of side notes. Google Judge Parker's courtroom for a picture of it (looks real?). The hotel you were staying used to be a Holiday Inn back in the day and the cast of Frank & Jesse filmed in Van Buren stayed there (Rob Lowe, Bill Patton, Randy Travis, Todd Field). The resturant was build as a private club originally The Town Club. Excellect video and narration. Check out next time the Drennen Scott House in Van Buren if you haven''t. Contact Prof. Tom Wing excellent person to know for the area's history. 👏💯

@@noralee6787 That's so interesting! You are blessed to have all that history written down. My dad has had to do a ton of work to find the history of our family.
