The higher a base native resolution for DLSS, the better it can output on the final image output. What I'm concerned on PSSR is that we already have games hitting a native image below 1080p but we're being told "It looks like 4K. Stop complaining" by fanboys and some sections of the media even though it has a very soft image with obvious upscaling artefacts using PSSR. Heck even the F1 2024 footage Digital Foundry showed where it's sampling from 1224p up to 2160p on PSSR and the scaler looked pretty harsh with a lot of jagged edges on output like it was the infamous Xbone hardware scaler from back in 2013. DLSS is a good tech but that's because, while Alex is totally right about Nvidia becoming less value for money. Nvidia do actually make strong enough hardware that you're getting a good native resolution to scale from because that's how Nvidia have always said the better the native image, the better the scale. Hell Nvidia's original pitch for DLSS was that it was supposed to be a fallback method for games that supported dynamic resolution where, say, you ran it at 1440p but the game got stressed and dropped to 1080p. But DLSS would fill in the detail to make it seem it's still 1440p so you wouldn't notice it ever dropped from native resolution. PS5 Pro and PSSR don't have that which is why I'm not buying what Sony's trying to sell that PSSR is just as good as native resolution and it's frustrating watching the media and the fanboys try to claim there's no difference.

Upscaling will interduce artifacting native 4K would be better of course, but anything these days struggle to run at 4K with high FPS as 4k is so demanding especially with all the graphics settings you can have on top of that

Not because I ordered that pos, but it quite literally caused me to look into prebuilts, and ultimately just building my own using PC part picker and researching for hours on builds and components. The switch has just been too sweet. 7600x/4070ti super with 32gb DDR5 ram and the frames are just.. immaculate. 🤌🏼

I checked a $700 PC pre build and the specs of that would give better performance than the PS5 Pro. All with over 100 times the games, more input opinions, mod support, free online, cheaper games, Game Pass, a disc drive, and being able to stand up.
Black Ops 6 is already 4K/60 on the SX and "Free" in game pass and it looks phenomenal. But I get it the PS5 Pro will make the game even more "magical" because you may be able to pause in the middle of a firefight to see your reflection. What the f is the PS5 Pro patch going to do that's going to make the experience "life changing?" And you are a fool if you don't think Xbox will add the same patches to the SX. You are a fool if you think these multiplat Devs won't upgrade the Xbox versions of these games. And SX has had Boost Mode and auto HDR for ALL games since day ONE.

PS5 Scalped price $700. 2 tb SSD $300. If I get a PS5 Pro $800 plus a 4tb SSD (because I stripped the screw putting the other one in) $300. Another $1,100. That’s $2,000 just to get the performance I was promised for the PS4 Pro and the PS5 that I still haven't gotten on a consistent basis. I just got Nvidia GForce Now on my Xbox for when I want more "performance" and called it a day. I’m good with my 2 current consoles.

As a long-time pc gamer who plays 1440p max settings with motion blur off, depth of field off, and ray tracing low to off 4k 30 with Ray tracing is over rated and not worth it

The CMOS battery pisses me off, because it's very difficult and sometimes outright impossible to do in older PS consoles. The PS2 has a soldered battery pack, and the PS4 slim has a really flimsy socket that's very easy to break if you're not careful, not to mention, you have to fully disassemble the consoles in both cases.
Now the narrative is they never marketed it to have 32 TF when all their fanboys rode with the leak information for months. Sony fanboys are masters of moving the goalpost lol.

Rtx 2080 is a dedicated high end gpu that was design to play games at high res with 4k native and for heavy task video rendering and machine learning a ps5 custom apu is only design for games they are not in the same boat not in this world plus a pc is a high end device that is made for multitasking streaming heavy workload even a standard desktop with a highend apu mops the floor with the ps5 with its phisical rams and multi cores and hyperthreading so yeah gaming consoles aint equal to a pc.

I played on Amiga, Nintendo, PS1, and PS2 as a kid, plus for a while on PC (Catz2 ❤️, THPS, Worms, Quake 3 Arena, CS 1.6, Doom, WRC, star craft). I used to play on an Xbox 360 at a friend’s place, and after a long break, I bought an Xbox One so the four of us could play FIFA online. But I went my own way and started playing other games like Fallout 4, BF4, BF1, PUBG, and Alex. I lost about two years to Destiny 2, but after the Series X, I’m switching to PC. Thanks to Play Anywhere, I won’t lose my games, and the console limits me. Fallout mods don’t work, and Arma Reforger is only so-so. In Arma, you can only fly helicopters with a joystick on PC. That’s why, PCMR!

I bought a used PS4 Pro for GT7 exclusivity,... no need for a PS5/Pro. I got my 4080 Super used, plays God of War Ragnarok 5K DLSS 90fps, the 1st party PS games with RT by Nixxes run so well, I know I paid decent money for a good pc having the 7800X3D and 4080 S, it was worth it as I prefer 4K or 5K 60-90Hz over 1440p 165Hz cos I'm more of a singleplayer gamer these days, cept GT7 ofc. Emulation too played GT5 on RPCS3 first time a month ago still cruising thru it, old God of War soon...

The PS5 Pro was basically Sony trying to correct a problem they caused. Graphics are the first and foremost way to see the leap in technology, which is why it was always pushed. However, because Consoles have been upscaling to 4k for a while now, you can't rely on increased resolution to display the technological leap. Sony needing some way to visually display a generational difference decided to tap Ray Tracing. The problem is RT is just not mature enough yet, nor widespread enough with Hardware to be anything more than visual eye candy with a serious performance hit.
The DF video on elden ring for example shows a real world performance increase of 30-35% over the standard console, which is less than the 40-45% they were touting. Not looking good for those claiming 4070 performance and there are many. At this rate I would put it at between 3070 and 3070ti realistically.
Ps5 users can check cyberpunk 2077 graphical mods, and then come back and then try to tell us that "the end is near" for us pc master racer people lol.
I can understand the CP2077 argument (You don't even have to like the game) The lighting and atmosphere the game has with everything turned to max is to me the first real generational leap I have seen in terms of a graphical evolution. I just don't understand why Alan Wake 2 became one and is demanding yet nowhere near the quality of CP2077. I would even argue that HellBlade2 is better.

They probably use alan wake 2 because console users can't max CP2077 on their consoles, so they don't believe it exists... they're no different to a flat earthers imo lol
There are multiple TH-cam channels that can help you. It just takes time to research. Build it yourself,it's a great experience. You will not regret moving to PC. You will play more games and spend less money in the long run.

In my entire life I never had dead cmos battery in my PC. PC can work for 8 years and battery will still be ok. Parts become way too old to matter before cmos bat gets drained unless you pull the plug. Only things that still can be usable are xeons and maybe some very old PSU and some wires.
I've been saying this since the day it was announced, but the PS5 Pro is literally pointless. Unless the companies that make these games are willing to dump time and money into optimizing these games for the Pro, then there won't be a fucking difference. There won't be any games made specifically for the Pro, and by now, most people already have either a PS5 or a PC, meaning the amount of people that might be considering getting one at this point is fucking pitiful. Also, if we're talking entry prices for console gaming, then $700 for a console without a stand or a disk drive ain't it. You could spend that same amount of money on a PC and you'd probably get a better experience in general. (And let's be honest a PC can do far more than a console can in general.) Not to mention a far wider range of games.

I checked a $700 PC pre build and the specs of that would give better performance than the PS5 Pro. All with over 100 times the games, more input opinions, mod support, free online, cheaper games, Game Pass, a disc drive, and being able to stand up.

Black Ops 6 is already 4K/60 on the SX and "Free" in game pass and it looks phenomenal. But I get it the PS5 Pro will make the game even more "magical" because you may be able to pause in the middle of a firefight to see your reflection. What the f is the PS5 Pro patch going to do that's going to make the experience "life changing?" And you are a fool if you don't think Xbox will add the same patches to the SX. You are a fool if you think these multiplat Devs won't upgrade the Xbox versions of these games. And SX has had Boost Mode and auto HDR for ALL games since day ONE.

PS5 Scalped price $700. 2 tb SSD $300. If I get a PS5 Pro $800 plus a 4tb SSD (because I stripped the screw putting the other one in) $300. Another $1,100. That’s $2,000 just to get the performance I was promised for the PS4 Pro and the PS5 that I still haven't gotten on a consistent basis. I just got Nvidia GForce Now on my Xbox for when I want more "performance" and called it a day. I’m good with my 2 current consoles.

The CMOS battery pisses me off, because it's very difficult and sometimes outright impossible to do in older PS consoles. The PS2 has a soldered battery pack, and the PS4 slim has a really flimsy socket that's very easy to break if you're not careful, not to mention, you have to fully disassemble the consoles in both cases.

Rtx 2080 is a dedicated high end gpu that was design to play games at high res with 4k native and for heavy task video rendering and machine learning a ps5 custom apu is only design for games they are not in the same boat not in this world plus a pc is a high end device that is made for multitasking streaming heavy workload even a standard desktop with a highend apu mops the floor with the ps5 with its phisical rams and multi cores and hyperthreading so yeah gaming consoles aint equal to a pc.

18:30 most people don't realize most developers gets paid to make the game, while publishers get paid off the game. developers want sequels because that's how they get paid, so if it sells well they get paid to make another game. all depends on who owns the ip or publishing for example JK Rowling owns the Harry Potter IP but WB owns the media rights (publishing) so she still gets paid off every harry potter.
I played on Amiga, Nintendo, PS1, and PS2 as a kid, plus for a while on PC (Catz2 ❤️, THPS, Worms, Quake 3 Arena, CS 1.6, Doom, WRC, star craft). I used to play on an Xbox 360 at a friend’s place, and after a long break, I bought an Xbox One so the four of us could play FIFA online. But I went my own way and started playing other games like Fallout 4, BF4, BF1, PUBG, and Alex. I lost about two years to Destiny 2, but after the Series X, I’m switching to PC. Thanks to Play Anywhere, I won’t lose my games, and the console limits me. Fallout mods don’t work, and Arma Reforger is only so-so. In Arma, you can only fly helicopters with a joystick on PC. That’s why, PCMR!

I bought a used PS4 Pro for GT7 exclusivity,... no need for a PS5/Pro. I got my 4080 Super used, plays God of War Ragnarok 5K DLSS 90fps, the 1st party PS games with RT by Nixxes run so well, I know I paid decent money for a good pc having the 7800X3D and 4080 S, it was worth it as I prefer 4K or 5K 60-90Hz over 1440p 165Hz cos I'm more of a singleplayer gamer these days, cept GT7 ofc. Emulation too played GT5 on RPCS3 first time a month ago still cruising thru it, old God of War soon...

The PS5 Pro was basically Sony trying to correct a problem they caused. Graphics are the first and foremost way to see the leap in technology, which is why it was always pushed. However, because Consoles have been upscaling to 4k for a while now, you can't rely on increased resolution to display the technological leap. Sony needing some way to visually display a generational difference decided to tap Ray Tracing. The problem is RT is just not mature enough yet, nor widespread enough with Hardware to be anything more than visual eye candy with a serious performance hit.
The DF video on elden ring for example shows a real world performance increase of 30-35% over the standard console, which is less than the 40-45% they were touting. Not looking good for those claiming 4070 performance and there are many. At this rate I would put it at between 3070 and 3070ti realistically.
Ps5 users can check cyberpunk 2077 graphical mods, and then come back and then try to tell us that "the end is near" for us pc master racer people lol.

The lighting and atmosphere the game has with everything turned to max is to me the first real generational leap I have seen in terms of a graphical evolution.
I just don't understand why Alan Wake 2 became one and is demanding yet nowhere near the quality of CP2077. I would even argue that HellBlade2 is better.

There are multiple TH-cam channels that can help you. It just takes time to research. Build it yourself,it's a great experience. You will not regret moving to PC. You will play more games and spend less money in the long run.

In my entire life I never had dead cmos battery in my PC. PC can work for 8 years and battery will still be ok. Parts become way too old to matter before cmos bat gets drained unless you pull the plug. Only things that still can be usable are xeons and maybe some very old PSU and some wires.
I've been saying this since the day it was announced, but the PS5 Pro is literally pointless. Unless the companies that make these games are willing to dump time and money into optimizing these games for the Pro, then there won't be a fucking difference. There won't be any games made specifically for the Pro, and by now, most people already have either a PS5 or a PC, meaning the amount of people that might be considering getting one at this point is fucking pitiful.
Also, if we're talking entry prices for console gaming, then $700 for a console without a stand or a disk drive ain't it. You could spend that same amount of money on a PC and you'd probably get a better experience in general. (And let's be honest a PC can do far more than a console can in general.) Not to mention a far wider range of games.
