I had this on 7” Single at the time and played it to death as it just brought so much joy to me. Especially during the 6 months between Seasons that at that aged seemed more like 6 years!
This is the first version I remember clearly, as the Pertwee era was when I first started watching the show seriously, though I do recall some Troughton stories.
The best version for sure and it should still be being used today. The whole point being is it was always meant to be an electronically realised theme. Never bettered IMO.
One thing that still annoys me is that before he took charge of the return Russell had said he didn't like the theme from the 1996 TV movie because it contained an orchestra. Fast forward to 2005!
Some say the Doctor can defeat a Dalek with a handful of jelly-babies and a fez, and he only knows two facts about dating women, and both of them are wrong.
The Timelords of Gallifrey DO NOT "date women!" Being an advanced time travel capable civilisation, reproduction is carried out in laboratory test tubes!
Sorry, but although Howell's version has grown on me over the years, Delia Derbyshire's version is the best. And she somewhat bettered the original version in 1967 ( though she would disagree), when the spangly stuff and reverb were added. By the way, have you heard Howell's theme to the 1980 BBC series The Shock of the New about modern art? It's very good, indeed. n:35
@@H3XGames Id love to just know were it came from. A rejected unused T.V version, or made just for that Big Finnish episode . they had a bit of fun with the delaware version one episod before. It occur to me they could have had all four episodes with a different 3rd Doctor era themes had team they used the Ambassadors of Death l intro on one of the episodes, would have been quite funny. The 70's were a magical golden era for so many things including Dr. Who. Love all of these theme tunes
And now its just woke bullshit.

I love that opening stutter. Much more moody and spooky than the opening sting they've been using since the 80's.

@@autumnmatthews3179 2005 still has electronic elements its just modernized rather than full orchestra
Even the sound effects of Dr. Who's TARDIS de-materializing were included.
A nice touch that.

They call him the Stig...
@@QuackVideo I miss Top Gear as was
But in the second 60th anniversary special the doctor claimed he couldn't do anything without his sonic screwdriver right after the TARDIS vanished

Howell win hands down for me. Appreciate all of them of course and Delia. What a talent she was. Lovely vid. Ledge for sharing.

Jon Pertwee was definitely the 'James Bond' of Doctor Who, got love for Tom Baker too.
Some say he was the inspiration for the character seeing as he worked with the creator in ww2 as a spy
Absolutely rendering of the tune, thank you :)
I am in love with this mix! Thank you!
My sister and I used to hide behind the sofa when this came on. She was 4 and I was 2. It terrified us. Lol. Great memories.
I love what you have done here. Superb.
nice touch with, the middle eight
I like it, nice one 👍
Very nicely done.
ooooweeeeoooooo ooooooweeee yep all of the doctor who opening and closing
Love it!💯
Like both the original and the Howell versions, Glynn's good too.
This is very close to what Big Finish used on episode 4 of "The One Doctor"
I wish someone would post that “wind up” variant at some point.

Is this bits joined together ?
As nature intended….
Great balls of fire! ... You mean, as science intended! 👍🤣
I would say only the first 8 seconds added anything worthwhile to the Delia Derbyshire original.
Sounds nice, but what is the font for “Doctor Who” on the thumbnail it looks so retro
It's called "Barbarella sf" - isn't it gorgeous! Are you a fellow font nerd?
kind of the font just really caught my attentiom
A tad too much reverb
The bassline doesn't sound good and the fade-to-repeat bit is off the mark.
Very nice!
