Orbital is the only modern theme that manages to capture the haunting eerie feeling of Derbyshire’s original. I like how you mixed it with the original theme, then on the second run through you added the 1966 theme with the spangles, brilliant. I’ve often wondered how orbital would sound mixed with KLF Doctorin the TARDIS, or Vashta Nerada by traffic experiment, and at a push Cybertech. Now we’re asking for mash up madness 😂
The thing is though, the Delia Derbyshire theme gives me both a haunting vibe with its main melody, and a sense of adventure and excitement with the middle-eight. And Orbital recreates this idea well, while newer themes that don't use samples from the Derbyshire focus mostly on being an adventurous theme in experience of them
The original theme has a haunting quality that perfectly captures the essence of the show. Its eerie and slightly frightening tone conveys a sense of mystery and impossibility. At the same time, there's an underlying feeling of positive determination. This combination of elements effectively represents the show's character - blending the unsettling with the adventurous.
might piss off some of the zombies there thinking they are about to have there shitshow ruined by some actual culture XD Gladstonebury from what ive witnessed in the last 5 years a shadow of what it was years back and ive never been personally but you dont have to when the internet pretty much can do that for you.
Orbital also recorded a track called “doctor, look out” which uses a couple of samples from the original series
Lol that track gets super tedious after about 10s.

Delia came before them all, only about 30 years ahead of her time. ❤
