Keep in mind this is my first experience with an electric skateboard. It may be wrong of me to paint the sport with a broad brush off this one experience.
One thing I have missed out on/haven't experimented with, is the different ways you can HAVE FUN on an electric skateboard.
So if it's just for fun, it could be an awesome option.
So um, send me your electric skateboards to get more experience on hehe.
But yeah take it with a pinch of salt.

Belt drive is more powerful than hub drive. Personally, I prefer to use belt drive or gear drive, as these two driving methods give you more wheel options😊

The major factor for me is cost & convenience. A good analog commuter longboard can be had for about $200, whereas a good E board is at least $600 and requires more upkeep and remembering to charge it.
Though honestly if you're in a metropolitan area with good cycle path infrastructure, an E board can be an excellent alternative to a car while being a bit more fun than a bike.

*Bustin make decent eBoards but there are eBoards with much smoother control, more adjustment of acceleration/brakes to your preference, ie customisation via remote/app and wheel options.*
    ⚡️👌🏽👌🏽⚡️
Exway, Meepo, Ownboard, WowGo all offer Belt drive boards which offer solutions to the issues with the Bustin you describe.

I'm keen to try. They all look pretty good ngl. I will do a review of the Bustin so we can talk more about the issues

Interesting you say electric more dangerous, is that because of the speed? I would have thought for braking is more risky than proper brakes…?

      *foot braking*

Footbraking on a normal Longboard can be pretty reliable and safe in the hands of a decent rider.
The braking on electric boards is handy, but its like they're constantly trying to throw you off/pitch you forward. In an emergency situation/when you're not prepared it can be quite sketchy.
Also Eboards allow you to go fast in situations maybe you shouldn't have that kinda speed. Down to rider control really but scary!
