I normally like it when things are adapted well from the comics, but the comic book history of Yelena became such a mess. I'm honestly glad they threw it all out and started fresh with the core concept of her being another Black Widow. I don't know if they'll attempt to retcon her backstory, but from what I've read she's been more of an ally to Natasha recently, so they'll probably just move forward without bringing up the whole Adaptoid thing. She already has the premise of being another woman from the Red Room, which seems to be the important aspect to keep.
I also think that the fact they have Yelena being a genuinely friendly and affable person would be a welcome thing to introduce into the comics considering I knew her MCU version before the comics (I'm not much of a comics person, honestly.)

For example, the most famous superhero origin stories, Batman and Superman's, have been retold and reinterpreted many times with new details added and/or old ones removed each time but with the basic story remaining the same.
