  • One of the hardest parts about going through the College Football recruiting process is figuring out how to get noticed. In this video, I’ll show you why Twitter can be a helpful guide through the process if you’re willing to put the work in!! From setting up your account to knowing what to tweet and most of all how to approach a college coach. I will show you the best approaches to navigate this grey area in recruiting.

    Hi, my name is Worth Gregory and I am a former Division 1 Football coach with multiple years in the coaching world. I played football at Alabama out of high school where I was lucky enough to win a National Championship. Then I transferred to ECU where I was a 3yr starter, all-conference, captain, and most of all graduated with a college degree.
    I’ve been through the recruiting world, played at a high level, got a shot at the NFL, and had the chance to coach the game I love in front of 100,000+. Now I’m looking to spread my knowledge to the next athlete/family to help them understand the process and get the opportunities that I had.

    This might seem random but Jesus loves you and times aren’t good and we need to rely on Jesus to guide us because we see corruption everywhere and so much sin and corruption everywhere. Relationship over religion. Jesus is a prayer away and just because you haven’t had an experience with Him doesn’t mean He’s not real :) .

    Worth, first off, congratulations on all of your accomplishments! Reading your bio is very impressive. Thank you for taking the time to give back and showing us how to get our kids noticed for their athletic abilities. I have a son who is a freshmen, and he is very talented at the RB and DB positions. He also plays basketball. I’m excited to put this video to use, create a twitter account, and see where it goes. Thank you!

    Great advice. #4 is the hard one...can't DM a coach who isn't following. The other issue is it seems that alot of ST coaches use Kohls, Sailor, ... instead of doing their own homework. Attending a bunch of camps is financially out of reach for lots of families. So beyond social media, how does a kicker go about getting noticed on a budget? Thanks.

    • @WorthGregory
      @WorthGregory  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      James Shepherd I agree, it can be difficult to get them to follow you back but if you’re following 1,000+ coaches then your odds of getting 40-100 following you back is pretty high. College coaches do LOOK at kohls/Sailer but will never offer a kid solely off ranking. At FBS level they wanna see the kid live. You can get recruited and seen with ZERO $$ spent. Create a video of you kicking once a week on a practice field and post it to your Twitter. Follow every coach in the world and spend 2-3 hours A DAY on messaging and doing research.

      @@WorthGregory Hi Worth, good content thanks...Question, my son is being recruited by a few smaller D1 and D2 programs in which he has offers on hand at each but he has more offers on hand at the D3 level in which we've been posting all but does posting the D3 offers negatively affect the D1 coaches idea of his ability that are on the fence about him? Or should we at this point just post the number of offers unless it's the type of offer level he would like to be. Not taking anything at all away from D3 as I do know there are some really good athletes at those levels as well.

    Also is it best to email the recruiting coordinator, the head coach, or your position specific coach?

    Great video. A lot of useful tips for twitter. One question I have particularly when it comes to posting film on twitter is quality. I’m a long snapper and really think I could have a chance as long as I keep working with it. I’m a freshman right now and I’ve started getting some clips to post but the quality is horrible and almost really hard to see the snaps. So how can I improve that and how much does that impact first impressions? Also I’m hopefully going to be attending Kohl’s special team camp in the near future is that a good idea? And for film how do they know to be looking at the snap? Because for someone just seeing the clips they may think there just clips of the punter / kicker? And not the long snap itself. I hope that makes sense and the questions are clear. Thank you again for the awesome video. Can’t wait to grind this out till the end.

    • @WorthGregory
      @WorthGregory  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're only a freshman, just focus on your form and videoing to improve that. Don't worry about recruiting or posting on twitter until after your freshman season or beginning of sophomore year. But when you do cut out everything and just have the snap. And yes the Kohls/Rubio camps will help but you're young. Having good academics and form should be your main focus.
