    I didn’t know about Form.LastSubmit function.... I was using this method to get the last item ID, and to use Patch function to update it afterwards.
    Set(varItemID, Last(DataSource.ID));
    Thanks again for showing us another enlightening video Reza!!!

    Hello Reza, Thank you very much for your video's. This video about form controls is I think one of the best because it covers most of the things you will encounter when building a form. For me the message that pops up when the form is changed but not saved was really nice to learn. When you have multiple tabs, you can loose sight quickly about the changes. Please continue! Hi, Reza. This video is gold. I learned a lot in 30 minutes about basic stuff I really needed. If you could create a tutorial with more details about control positioning it'd be awsome!! This is now the thing I hate the most in PowerApps. I wish I could find a way to "freeze" their position because it's annoying to adjust it as it's not possible to just to drag and drop. I'm trying relative positioning, but still doesn't bring the outcome I expected. Thanks very much!!

      @@RezaDorrani I agree with Patricia about hating the positioning of form controls and would also look forward to seeing a video with more information about that. But, meanwhile, I am not able to drag and drop the data cards on my form as you do in this video, even with "Snap to Columns" turned off. They just won't move. It's also very challenging to position them using their X, Y, Width, and Height properties. It's a real struggle to have to add a new field column to an existing form. You make it look easy but that's not my experience.

    Thank you So much, Raza. I have an issue with my room booking application. when someone Books a room I want to disable that range of time and also if someone else tries to book that same room including that same time range, It should be prevented. Ex:- (A) booked 9.00 to 10.00 and (B) trying to book 8.00 - 11.00 = "Should be Prevented"> How should those codes be done?

    It was a good revision for me. Thank you for always helping us out. Just to ask previously in your videos to make edit form to view and edit you always take variables like varformdata and varformmode. But in this no such thing done. BTW this one was more easy than previous one. What is the reason behind that. Any pros and cons of using the variables for changing the form mode like you done in your several videos?

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Variable is a better option from a performance standpoint for complex forms (large columns).
      However in simple form scenarios, direct connection to gallery is ok.

    Excellent tutorial, thanks a lot, Reza! I have 2 questions:
    1. Why my default mode when connecting to Sharepoint is always Portrait/Phone screen?
    2. When I edit fields, it does show my added fields in the preview, but when I save it and close the tab, access again through Home->Your Apps, it does not show my added/changed fields but only the original version and the multiple choice becomes Item 1,2,3 instead of the actual values?
    Thank you in advance.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  ปีที่แล้ว

      1 - you can always create a blank app using tablet layout and connect to SharePoint.
      2 - you have to publish the app in order to see the changes in run mode

    Thank you Reza for this very practical video. I'm building my first app and your video was immensely helpful.
    I've a similar setup for my app, SharePoint List connected to a canvas app. I'm running in to an error when I edit existing records using the SubmitForm function.
    "Network error when using patch function: The specified column is read-only and can't be modified."
    Any idea how to find out why this is the case? Submitting new records and editing those generate no error. Main problem appears to be with items that pre-existed in the list before I started the app. Thank you !
    🙏

    • @RezaDorrani

      If you unlock the data card, you can simply double click on the name of the label control from the left navigation tree view to change its name.

    I have a question. I have a form upon saving (on success) you are navigated from the form to a success screen then On Timer End I want to navigate back to the previous page but see the updates reflected. Is there a way to achieve this?

    Hello Reza,
    Thank you so much for creating this video. It helps me a lot as a newbie to Power App. Do you have any plan to create video on how to handle multiple forms, parent/child form relationship, something similar to the repeat section, or repeat table of InfoPath. Again, thank you!

    Hi Reza,
    some help,: inside the default Layout form from microsoft lists, we can write some description for the item (the new column created. I usually use to explain some rules for the user). Question: Inside Power Apps, creating a custom layout, what is the option inside power apps that mirror that description? Or I have to create a box and write again the description and organize that box the way that I want?

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Power Apps cannot read that value. You would need to manually add them.
