This is my first video of his. I'm honestly surprised that the video only has 48 views, this is solid content and I usually don't find channels until just AFTER they blow up. Maybe TH-cam is being unfair to him because his video is on the "shorter" side.
In response to the large amount of status effects, I honestly didn't put much thought to it beyond making sure to buy items to heal stone and curse. Ff12 is one of my favorite and that game loves to use status effects. So out of habit i just made sure to have esuna and used it any chance i could. So by the end of it esuna was lvl 8 and could heal almost everything. Granted i treated it like a proper class system and broke my characters into roles. Firion was my knight so sword and shield and white magic. Maria was my black mage. And guy i made a DnD barbarian. So dual axes and berserk. Fourth character was just focus on whatever they had on them or whatever my best spare gear was.
It's kind of nice when we seem to align perfectly on our thoughts on the game. For me, this game is definitely not worth spending the time on. At least, these days. Is the game important to the series? Yes. Did it try a lot of new things? Yes. But it fails to really make those new things "good." There is part of me that wonders if this game being such a rough experience, is why we started getting all the other games in a weird order.
I personally enjoyed 2 a good bit. I agree with a lot of the points in the video but i also didnt go for 100% completion. It felt almost like Zelda 2 where the creators tried something different because it was the second game, it didnt go so well, so they didnt do it again.
