@@dominusmaximus8906 yeah, it honestly ruined my game experience, but solo’ing rulers of the outer worlds kind of made me appreciate the combat system as it required me to truly git gud But all in all, they definitely didn’t have to make it that annoying
It was too boring to grind for it specifically so I just farmed rages for Gau with Setzer in my party using auto battle and eventually it popped. It’s def annoying to get.
Ghosts are weightless, after all. I think what happened was the devs forgot to assign the "HEAVY" tag to the ghost train, then decided it was too cool and funny to patch out in any ports and remakes.
Setzer with the black belt and the master scroll, and his double dice, you have a man that’s unstoppable. Absolutely crushes everything, also I named him bender, for reasons lol
He is really good. Shadow can be good too because he usually hasn’t learned any spells to interfere with his attacks and you can get his evasion super high. Also, I used Gogo for stealing things, though he can be a bit squishy.
I am thankful that someone is actually going back and playing in my opinion the best Final Fantasy games, I actually don’t like most of the Final Fantasy games after Final Fantasy 12, so I can really appreciate someone going back and playing one through six, especially since six, seven, and 12 are my favorites with 1,2, and the PS1 version of 4 being very honorable mentions
The only games after 12 that I like are everything but the final Final Fantasy seven remix and I also don’t like stranger in Paradise. But 13, 14, 15, 16 and type zero are all great games. But in my opinion, the Final Fantasy seven remakes took a amazing game, that did not need anything changed about it and changed the entire stem of the game, it’s literally not even the same game to me and I do not appreciate that. But the sides that I love the series and everything that it has done.
I'm actually trying to do the same, almost done with FF 1. Been taking my time, and playing on my steam deck makes it easy to get progress done in short sessions. Thanks for inspiring me to keep going.
Props for recognizing the greatness of FF IV. It’s always been my favorite. I tried to play V many times over the years and never could play more than a few hours because something just felt downgraded in the story, world building and characters. When I gave it another try with the Pixel Remaster, I still have those sentiments, but found I really enjoyed the game more than I ever gave it credit for. I appreciate its music, the characters grew on me, and it has one of the coolest final dungeon sequences in FF.
4 is excellent. Honestly I think it’s a good starting point for someone new to the 2d games because it has a mix of new and old features plus a good story and soundtrack. 6 is still my favorite of these but it’s further removed from the earliest ones.
In Final Fantasy games after the first, your White Mage can select the entire party to spread a high powered Curaga or Curaja around instead of just focusing the heals on one person. They merged FF1's Cure, Heal, and Dia lines into a single spell line (as you can also select enemies to target with the Cure spells and it damages undead). Not that you needed this, apparently.
Oh it hurts watching you use esuna in the final battle when your party is all blinded and silenced when Sabin could purge the whole party with one move. But these games are so much fun. Thanks for sharing
I did this May - July last year. 6 was my favourite by far, that Slots trophy took me 2 days to get. The hidden summons on 4 took me about 3 hours to get all of them so i lucked out with the RNG
I've been working through the games over the last 4 months. Got to the first major point of no return in 6 realized i missed some chests in a one time vist area. Between it amd the jokers death trophy. I gave up and haven't finished the game. 😢
Yeah... RNG based trophies are always a pain in the gut to deal with, no matter the game you play. I can't wait to revisit those classics for trophy hunting (and also playing them again for story and all that of course... minus FF4 which I recently played it so... yeah, I'll go just "turbo mode" on that game).
@@RY3NOI would have guessed a lot more than 130 hours for that completion. I have a lot more than that in Stardew Valley. I just finished the FFs I did not complete before but was not shooting for 100%. You are a beast lol. This video deserves a million views at least.
Trying to do this as well. Started with my favorite, FF6, and the visit all locations trophy won't pop for me. I've done' everything else all side quests, all espers, all magic. No clue what I'm missing. Only thing I can think of is I flew into some weird distortion which I thought was the bonus dungeon from previous versions, but ended up being doomgaze. I was so powerful by that time that I killed him before he could run away. Maybe there are other distortions that count towards this trophy that show up when he runs?
I challenged myself to getting them all within a week of release and managed to pull it off. Getting Setzer to use the right move and running into that annoying War Mech easily made up half my time. 😂
I just finsihed getting all the trophies on my phone and due to a bug i had to wait 2 years for a patch to let me get the legendary warioar trophy in 3-6
If you plat 6 again. Make sure you use suplex on doomtrain. And offering and gengi gives. On any of your melee fighters. And watch kefta fold like a paper bag.
FF2 is great, but not one of the best. The story is interesting and a big step up from 1 and the music is amaaaazing. But the leveling is pain, yes, so it's hard to replay.
Just looked on the guides for the games, and it's annoying that all the games except FF1 has a lot of missable trophies. Since i don't like looking at guides while playing the games

There are a lot of guides on FF1 but my advice is to talk to everyone in towns and go wherever you can go. The game emphasizes exploration and doesn't really hold the players hand being a game made in 1987.
I was following guides to not miss any of the missable collectibles as for battles it was a combination of trial and error as well as looking up a strategy
I played them last year when they were released and to no one's surprise, I enjoyed 4 the most, because it was my first Final Fantasy I played back when I only got my hands on and english version and didn't understand most of it, but 5 also really surprised me as it was a lot better than I remembered it to be. Overall all of them were okay, but I'm firmly in team "2 is the worst", although I found all three first titles kinda bland compared to the later titles. Not bad per se, just ... bland. A Facebook friend of mine is a total Emperor fangirl, so I was kinda curious about him, but overall it was mostly an "Okay, that's it?" reaction, because you meet him like twice and then he dies. You also only really have 3 characters with Firion, Maria and Guy as the last one was completely irrelevant at literally any point in the game, because they were so horribly underleveled. Edit: You probably know that, but in case someone doesn't and is interested in the platinum: You can just equip the learn skill from the Blue Mage to everyone when you hunt for skills which makes things A LOT easier and you can also control a lot of enemies with the control skill from the Beastmaster.
FF2's leveling system is really jank but a skill-based leveling system in an RPG was basically unheard of for NES games. FF has always been an innovative game series even when they don't always hit their mark.

I just said fuck it at the end. I did eventually beat a translated rom of the the nes one, but man that 3d one did nothing but piss me off hardcore.
I'm 100% all the FF games right now and boy was FF6 a nightmare with that damn triple sevens trophy.

I’ll say. I finished FF6 again a day ago and Setzer destroyed everything with that build. I used to think he was weak, too.
For the coliseum, Umaro is often the best choice because as a berzerker he never does stupid shit, he just unloads damage.

Have you Platinumed: Live A Live and Octopath Traveler 2
