I personally think that English is a "flat language", even with the diverse accents there are in the US. Foreign languages are much more expressive with varying intonations and a wide range of expressions that aren't in English. The French VA for Mario did sound similar to Charles Martinet, but I really like how he has a fine balance between normal speaking lines and up-beat lines. He adds a more human dimension to Mario that we haven't seen before. I would much prefer to hear the French VA speak in French rather than in English because of the reason I mentioned. I can't wait to see the movie in French when it's available.
I think most of the voice actors were pretty good in this trailer except Mario's even though in the original cartoon he did get voice by a normal person not in Italian person I still would have liked them to capture his Italian voice in the games

Are we really gonna be picky on how his voice should really sound, even from old past movies and shows he didn't even sound like he should I'm not complaining just how I feel, you either gonna watch it or pass on, soon they gonna complain about how Bowser voice isn't deep enough 😂.
so your going to judge chris pratt for only 3 lines do you even consider the possibility that his voice acting might get better over time how is this any different from the sonic movie people need to understand that this is a movie not a game
It's not his voice per se that bothers, i think it's how flat it fell, especially compared to the other voices. And it's the trailer, the part that should uplift you and basically make you feel "here we go!!!!"...but Pratt's "here we come" just doesn't do it. It lacks energy and enthusiasm. Maybe they just didn't showcase the best part, but yeah, in a trailer made to hype people, it's a bit of a fail.
