I own a Jungle Green system I snagged at a thrift store for fairly cheap. While the collector in me wants all the colors from that line, if I had to choose I would want the orange system and then the watermelon just because they are unusual colors for a gaming system. And the pikachu system, of course. Gotta buy em' all!
I just recently got a gold edition w/matching controller for dirt cheap, the guy told me it didn't work, but it just needed a power cord replacement and it works great! Best $10 bucks I ever spent Thank you Craigslist.
Blast Cor"p"s is one of my favorites from the N64...and I just missed picking up a green version N64 in the box at a garage sale by about 2 minutes...I literally got there as the guy was walking away with it =(....they sold it to him for 5 bucks!!!My favorite color would have to be the watermelon though.

Oh yeah I agree. I played the hell out of that game. Like you said best part about it was it was totally original. Back then I preferred playing older FPS like that Duke Nukem, Doom, Hexen, Quake, Unreal on PC. Some of the N64 ports were just a downgrade from their PC counterparts but Doom 64 is a rare unique treat.
Andrew Phillips "Some"? It was EVERY single other FPS on N64 that was originally on PC that was downgraded, from the G-rated version of Duke Nukem 3D to the terrible ports of Hexen and Quake, Doom 64 managed to stand out because it actually used the N64 hardware to its advantage, and it wasn't merely a rehash of a better game on better hardware. Satoshi Matrix Yeah lol that is the only thing I could think of when I thought of Turok. I enjoyed it and liked the concept but the draw distance was horrendous.
I always come back to these hidden gem videos. I've probably watched this one 6-7 times throughout the years. Thanks for all you have done / do MJR & Crew!
Damn, I never knew about the 3rd title. Was surprised to see it is based on a board game. Looks pretty cool. I never played the one they talk about in the video, but I had a blast with Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. The intro song and the impact song are so awesomely cheesy.
both goemon games are awesome on n64, the 3rd japanese one is okay but hard to enjoy unless you know japanese, i covered it in an episode of the n64 japanese eye and it took a while to make as the game was tricky to learn
Andrew Phillips Goemon Great Adventure is fantastic! They forgot to mention the first person giant robot fights and that you can choose between 4 characters (it's still only 2 in multiplayer tough). I Highly recommends it.
I think it s the most underrated game of all time. Beautiful game, you can use every vehicle, great story, great world.. Damn. Everyone at the time complain about the graphic but never really play the game. I still have it and play, the 155 mm howitzer cheat man.... That s the most powerful weapon I ever see.

Can’t believe this video is almost 10 years old. I still remember first time I saw this and FINALLY realized Mischief Makers was the game I had in my head for over a decade but could never remember the name. Hope to have it complete someday soon.
It kind of just hit me why your viewers dislike the other girl you had on your ps1 video so much. She tries to hard to be liked by what she assumes is the gaming community that watches your videos. So she curses, makes unnecessary sexual jokes, and acts all around immature. While the young lady in this video is natural and laid back. Like "this is who I am you don't have to like it because I'm just here for fun not your approval". I really like your videos metaljesus so I'll continue watching no matter who your guest is or if it's a guitar solo to a top 10 video game list. But I would recommend telling your other lady friend to relax more and stop trying so hard.
Love the mention of Mischief Makers! It's one of my favorite games for the Nintendo 64. Some other great hidden gems, are Ogre Battle 64, both Castlevania games, Blast Corps, Goemon's Great Adventure, and Pilotwings 64.
Does Kinsey have her own channel? She's a cool gamer chick, I should imagine her videos would be well made & presented. Don't mean to leave you out MJR - u rock too ;)
***** has reviewed many of these games that you have both suggested so that's how I already knew about them but as always a great episode and always look forward to Fridays with MJR and Kinsey :-)
Goemon's Great Adventure is probably my favorite co-op game on the N64. The best part is if you're playing with someone who sucks at platforming or you're not very in sync with them, you can just pick them up and use an "I run you gun" sort of play style.
The awesome thing about this video is that you guys appreciate the lesser known titles. At the height of its popularity, all my friends that had the N64 only got the blockbuster hits, I was the only one in my circle that took a chance on most of these games on the list and was not disappointed.
You have a new subscriber here! I really enjoy hidden gem videos so this was great to me. One game that I would throw out there is Chameleon Twist. I so agree with Snowboard kids though. That game is amazing. My friend/TH-cam partner Jacob absolutely loves Pokemon Puzzle League and plays that a lot. Unfortunately I haven't played Beetle Adventure Racing (which I do have) or Mischief Makers (I've been wanting that one for a while), but I've heard great things! Blast Corps is another one I have, but haven't played. Goemon is one that is super high on my wishlist. Jacob has the Fire N64 and controller along with the Jungle and Smoke controllers. Awesome video! - Tyler
For me, N64 was, easily, the best console in that gen. People can claim that ps1 library was bigger (indeed, it was), but i simply can't find anything so good in that console like an intense match of Perfect Dark with 4 friends and teams of simulants. In 98 we were playing something similar with games that people like to play today like halo. And ps1 people were playing games that still having a foot on the 16bit era (to the point that sony released the ps1 with a terrible controller without analog sticks). While n64 was delivering true next gen experiences, people were playing 16bit stuff like ff7 and symphony of the night. While metal gear solid was impressive for the cutscenes, it's a very simple game in terms of gameplay and tragic in terms of graphics. Speaking of graphics, man, ps1 was really sad. On 3d games, N64 were more beautiful. In 2d graphics, used to play capcom games on the saturn, I almost cried when I saw games like X-Men vs Street Fighter on ps1. While ps1 analog sticks were great because they don't loose the resistance after some sections of gaming, the positioning of the analogs (specially the left one) is simply wrong. On the n64 the position is simply right, but some dumb people used to hold the controller like an snes controller and stretch the thumb to reach the analog...! Please!
protossevolution You don't know what you are talking about. PS1 was way better than N64. But that doesn't mean N64 was a bad console. And in fact, as to multiplayer games, N64 wins by all means. Perfect Dark is the best fps of all time(in my opinion) and it has the best multiplayer of its kind. And I can mention many others, like Mario Party, Wave Race, Mario Kart, Turok Rage Wars and Turok 3, etc. And please, how can you say MGS was simple at gameplay. That game is a masterpiece. And playstation graphics are not bad. The things is, N64 has better textures, while ps1 has more detailed structures. But overall, yeah, N64 has better graphics. However, that doesn't mean ps1 was terrible at this matter.. Because clearly it wans't. Dude, you need to speak without being a fanboy, and then maybe, I'll respect you.
Honestly i hated N64 graphics. The games were pretty hard on the eyes even then. They were more comparable (not identical) to mode-7 on snes, or 32x in most games, not all. With better polygon models, slight textures ect Colors looked like water-paints smeared everywhere, then they covered in a fog to seemingly hide it The N64 controller analog was a huge pain without practice and many times didnt center properly. Resulting in unplugging and plugging it back in or fiddling with it. Sometimes a reset Goldeneye was incredible fun 4 player, especially after swapping the control scheme to 'solitaire' to make it playable to someone not used to the awkward design Dont know why or how anyone could find an issue with the PS1 controllers...clueless on that one, even though i preferred the saturn 6-button with the analog D-Pad PS1 had its flaws but when the games were good, they were better all round. Id take a PS1 over N64 any day. Im not sayin N64 was bad, but to pretend it had no real cons. Thats ridiculous
***** I have to disagree with you in some aspects, dude. First, N64 graphics were great. Better than PSX. Maybe you just played crappy graphics games. I don't know. But man, Perfect Dark, Zelda Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask, Turok 2 and 3, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Shadowman64, even RE2 was better on the N64. And there are lot of games with better graphics. If you disagree...you might need professional help. Now, the N64 controller was great. But yeah, the psx controller was better and more comfortable. However, the issues you mention about the N64 controller are not such. Those things happen because another reason. Nintendo always makes hardware with the best quality. And only a fool could disagree on such fact. Besides, N64 controller was way better for fighting games. The dpad of psx is terrible, even the ps3 dpad sucks. That's why everyone prefers to play DOA or any other fighting game in Xbox 360. There was no ackward design on Goldeneye. It is a masterpiece and maybe you are not...for that game. I mean, I never had any problems with any fps on N64. You are the first person I've met with this problem. I totally respect yhe fact you like ps1 over N64, even though I don't agree with your reasons. But yeah, saying N64 has no real cons...that is ridiculous.
I didnt mean the graphics werent good i just didnt like them. Especially the early titles. Everyone takes criticism and opinion of inanimate objects (in this case a childs toy) so seriously. Ive been cleared by several mental health professionals... but even the consideration someone may be mentally ill because they have a differing opinion....well Makes me question your mental health It gets better but you have to want it to... I never got a chance to play perfect dark, it was so close to the end of 64's life span, everyone i knew was waiting for PS2 or had a Dreamcast. Which has my favorite controller of all time, and is my N64 of gaming Ive played RE2 on N64... we'll have to agree to disagree :) Yes, I agree, PS has the worst d-pad. Try playing Gran Turismo with it... i dare you ;) No doubt Nintendo has always been top-notch. I had to spend quite sometime playing to get used to the controller lay-out. "Solitaire" let me use the C-buttons to move and strafe. I didnt know anyone who played otherwise. Honey was terrible unless youve played awhile I did really like the way the Z trigger and the entire center was designed. Great build Just about every N64 controller ive ever used had joystick issues. Even fairly new ones, on different units. Very few i used didnt Just my experience with it. its ok, relax ;) Its not a bad console just wanted to point out anyone can find fault if one looks. You dont have to agree with my reasons. The ego on this one *sarcasm* They are both great consoles and its only *opinion*
There's a lot of good games for ps1 but you didn't find. n64 had great games too. okay, lets compare: ps1 - sold 100 million. n64 - sold 30 million. ps1 had 2398 games!!! n64 only has 397 games. PS1 had bigger vaiety of games while n64 was about 70% of 3d platformers. PS1 can do 2d and 3d while n64 can only do 3d. It uses cartridges which scared away many developers from porting games to n64. ps1 was easier to develop games for. n64 didn't have a final fantasy game, they tried to do it for n64 but the carts didn't have enough memory. ps1 also corrected the analog sticks by doing 2 of them instead of 1.
To be honest metal Jesus is for sure the best youtuber on TH-cam he post the greatest videos on TH-cam and he's very awesome. Keep up the good work bro!
the awesome thing about this video is that i was a huge n64 head back in 97/98 and movie rental places were still around... i rented sooo many of these games and got to play them brand new. my friends all hated robotron for some reason... i dug it.
The N64 game library as whole is pretty crappy allot of the games haven't aged well because 3D was still new at the time. That said the few the games on the system that I think are awesome are also some of my favorite games of all time. I find the N64 weird in that way.I find the controller to be one of the worst ever but whatever I feel like I'm rambling and not making much sense in the process. My favorite games on the system are Conkers bad fur day, Mario 64,Zelda Majora's Mask,Ocarina of time and Paper Mario.
It's easy to say the library was weak, because it only had about 300 titles. However, the best games on the N64 rival those on any other system. There were about 20 really great games on it.
Your channel has been an absolute blast to binge! Woke up this morning with my coffee and immediately started another marathon -- so much nostalgia and love absorbing it all in.
The only games i'll ever need on the N64: - Goldeneye - Perfect Dark - Super Mario 64 - Donkey Kong 64 - TLOZ: Ocarina of Time - TLOZ: Majora's Mask - Mario Cart 64 - Mortal Kombat 4 - Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
I had the Pikachu 64 console but a friend of mine was such a huge Pokemon fan and for Christmas one year, I gifted it to him. He was excited and his face was priceless, but I won't lie...I've really regretted it ever since.
Mischief Makers is one of my favorite N64 games! Some ideas for part 2 you should look into are Buck Bumble, Top Gear Rally, Gex, Chameleon Twist, and Quest 64.
While I've never seen one in person, the Japan only Daiei Hawks N64 looks pretty cool. The bottom half is transparent gray and the top is transparent orange with a matching controller. There was also a Daiei Hawks Game Boy Color with the same color scheme.
Whoa! Mishchief maker?! I loved that game! It was one of the first games I played after getting my N64 as a kid, and I only came across it once. I lived in a podunk little town where the corner store was also a grocery store, and also rented out carpet shampooers, and video games, lol. They had only like, 5 or 6 N64 games, and that was one of them. Played it through a few times. I completely forgot about it until now, 20 years or so later. Thanks guys!
i hate n64, ps1 for the win lol that was my first "console war" my best friend had an n64 and i had a ps1. always used to compare and argue who had the better console and we cant even agree to this day after 15 years
You should love each console for what they offered. They all had/still have unique aspects. The PS1 was rich in RPG's and new types of platforms (crash bandicoot) and racers (Gran Turismo), while the N64 was rich in what Nintendo do best; innovative gaming: Mario 64- one of the best ever mario games, first one in 3D! Goldeneye- pioneer of FPS games, was brilliantly put together and actually resembled the movie! A modern day miracle. Super paper mario RPG- One of the most absorbing and masterful games ever brought out. An absolutely stunning accomplishment. Zelda: Ocarina of time- No description needed... Resident evil 2- on a cartridge! no loading times baby. Feel the cartridge love! That is just a handful of games that are legendary, absolutely legendary games. Every console has its place. Even the Sega 32X and Saturn have their places!
Great video. Blast Corps is an awesome game. Certainly a unique experience that everyone should play at least once, whether you were a fan of the N64 or not. Plus, the A-Team van is hidden in there somewhere!
I have the same Pikachu N64 as Kinsey. It was a bundle that came with Hey You Pikachu. It included a C watch that was designed to look like a pocket watch and was orange on the body and the strap had a flame design on it. It was Charmander themed. I used to carry it but it didn't read out the time on the display, it has an animation of Ash and Charmander and you would have to press a button on it to get the time which was announced in Ash's voice.
It's about time the Ultra 64 had it's fair deal of the limelight on your channel, MetalJesusRocks; you're holding my childhood in your hands. I understand the incredibly connotative imagery that last part my have conjured, but, never mind that, keep on trucking!
Had Beetle Adventure Racing as a kid, when I bought an N64 at a garage sale that had like 5 games with it for $5. I also had Banjo Kazooie with that bundle.
N64 regrettably gets a lot of hate from PS1 fanboys, but you just can´t disregard awesome games like Zelda: OOT, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 64, Banjo Kazooie, Conker´s Bad Fur Day and Jet Force Gemini. Thx for an awesome episode MJR! I really like Kinsey. You guys have a great chemistry.
In that era i had a PSX and a PC and, the games were more Mature I was playing alot Resident Evil and Counter Strike so, i didn't notice much of the N64 in that Era, it was a kid's console everyone was saying I once played Mario Kart in it and, it was a great experience
Kinsey is the best hidden gem of all. Straight up 3 plain ole jane 64's one complete boxed with the purple controller. Definitely one of my favorite systems to collect for.
More hidden gems. Me and my mates besides Goldeneye and mariokart64 and all the other great titles, liked to play Turok rage wars a lot. A 1st person shooter deathmatch only game. Really cool weapons and levels and you could even play as a raptor-like lizard. Battletanx was also great fun together. With the N64 Nintendo really brought something imo. It was a great revolutionary console.
Revisiting this now that I can play my N64 on my HDMI TV - how young you look!!! I recently discovered that there was a third Goemon / Mystical Ninja game on the N64 that was only released in Japan. I have to check it out!
Kinsey!!! It's always great to see you with MJR and the N64 my last nintendo console it had a lot of great games i still hook it up for the odd goldeneye session
SNOWBOARD KIDS = my childhood. I remember renting that game for weeks cause I loved it. Great video. I'll be heading to my retro store to see if I can pick up these gems today :)
I´m not sure how Beetle Adventure Racing performed on sales, but at that time it was praised by many magazines and game critics, I played it and it was awesome....It even was released in Australia with a different car.
That's awesome! I actually never heard of that particular Goemon game. I played the fully 3D one where you can switch between 4 characters, but now I'll have to add this one to my list! :)
I remember Blast Corps as my second game after Super Mario 64 and I hated it at first but grew on me in a strange way. May get it back once my upscale comes in.
goemon's great adventure is a fantastic game. controls feel perfect. a little high on difficulty level sometimes (for me anyway). just a very elegantly designed platformer. and the towns were really enjoyable too. good memories, whish they brought it back on the virtual console
IM IN LOVE WITH Kensy please include her in ever video from now on. lol love ya MJR but Kensy....... she makes your show soooooooooooo much better to watch
I loved the N64 even though I grew up with the NES. But my tastes hovered around the awesome wrestling games and other gems. Have to say Kinsey picked some great ones. Kinsey, you're super cool btw. Great episode. ^>^
Yeah great game, but I don't really think it qualifies as a hidden gem but I could be wrong. Another great Star Wars game on N64 was Shadows of the Empire. Shitload of varied gameplay.
TheBigSuegroski Not sure if it was a launch title. If not it came out soon afterward. Very interesting plot. I had actually read the book a few years prior to playing the game. It is sort of a side story between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
I love watching these hidden gem videos, since I have all of these games on my flashcarts and don't even realize it lol. I'm legit a couple button presses away from playing any one of them
Snowboard Kids had a really good soundtrack. The sequel added an RPG-esque story mode, more characters/tracks, and the same good gameplay and new good music. It's honestly all around better. Of course, the original is what I grew up with, so nostalgia wins there. The single-player action RPG of Mystical Ninja Goemon is one of my favorites for the console, too. I enjoyed renting the multiplayer sidescroller game, though.
Blast Corps and Pokemon Puzzle League are both FANTASTIC! I used to play Puzzle League like crazy a few years ago...Literally beat it on all the difficulties, except for Super-Hard Mode. Recently got Blast Corps at a garage sale for $2, and I've been enjoying it a lot ever since. Also, the Pikachu N64 came with a watch? o3o I got mine brand new as a kid, and I never got a watch....
I love the Robotron arcade game, but just never made the connection between the two and when the 64 was still on the shelf back in the day hadn't played either of them. Def going to add it to my collection. This was one of the first lists where I had at least heard of a lot of the games. Was more heavy into the 64 than other systems so that understandable. But a lot of these I don't own and this vid made me interested in getting most of them.
0:53 - Mischief Makers
1:39 - Beetle Adventure Racing
2:34 - Pokemon Puzzle League
3:10 - Snowboard Kids
3:44 - Blast Corps
4:32 - Bust-a-Move 2: Arcade Edition
5:00 - Goemon's Great Adventure

How about Body Harvest? I actually never hear anyone talk about it, even though It's pretty awesome
its awesome man. one of the best games of the generation

I love Kinsey's laugh. It's contagious. Also, she's so cute and so passionate for games, which make her even more irresistible.

Snowboard Kids! Nice! Snowboard Kids II is also good.
Cruisin' through the USA was a N64 game I remember playing but didnt hear much people mention it
***** has reviewed many of these games that you have both suggested so that's how I already knew about them but as always a great episode and always look forward to Fridays with MJR and Kinsey :-)
Snowboard Kids was one of my favorites! Really great with 4 players. It's really like Mario Kart with snowboards, and I love it.
Her shirt is amazing. She's my new favorite.
Goemon's Great Adventure is probably my favorite co-op game on the N64. The best part is if you're playing with someone who sucks at platforming or you're not very in sync with them, you can just pick them up and use an "I run you gun" sort of play style.
Good picks and good co-host! Great energy! It's a bit hard to come by, but how about Bangai-O?
The awesome thing about this video is that you guys appreciate the lesser known titles. At the height of its popularity, all my friends that had the N64 only got the blockbuster hits, I was the only one in my circle that took a chance on most of these games on the list and was not disappointed.
Awsome episode, Kensie is a star;)
Srry....*Kensy;) ....Hopes she starts her own channel, I would deffi. sub that;)

With better polygon models, slight textures ect
Colors looked like water-paints smeared everywhere, then they covered in a fog to seemingly hide it
The N64 controller analog was a huge pain without practice and many times didnt center properly. Resulting in unplugging and plugging it back in or fiddling with it.
Sometimes a reset
Goldeneye was incredible fun 4 player, especially after swapping the control scheme to 'solitaire' to make it playable to someone not used to the awkward design
Dont know why or how anyone could find an issue with the PS1 controllers...clueless on that one, even though i preferred the saturn 6-button with the analog D-Pad
PS1 had its flaws but when the games were good, they were better all round.
Everyone takes criticism and opinion of inanimate objects (in this case a childs toy)
so seriously.
Ive been cleared by several mental health professionals... but even the consideration someone may be mentally ill because they have a differing opinion....well
Makes me question your mental health
It gets better but you have to want it to...
I never got a chance to play perfect dark, it was so close to the end of 64's life span, everyone i knew was waiting for PS2 or had a Dreamcast. Which has my favorite controller of all time, and is my N64 of gaming
Ive played RE2 on N64... we'll have to agree to disagree :)
Yes, I agree, PS has the worst d-pad. Try playing Gran Turismo with it... i dare you ;)
No doubt Nintendo has always been top-notch.
I had to spend quite sometime playing to get used to the controller lay-out.
"Solitaire" let me use the C-buttons to move and strafe. I didnt know anyone who played otherwise. Honey was terrible unless youve played awhile
I did really like the way the Z trigger and the entire center was designed. Great build
Just about every N64 controller ive ever used had joystick issues. Even fairly new ones, on different units. Very few i used didnt
Just my experience with it. its ok, relax ;)
Its not a bad console just wanted to point out anyone can find fault if one looks.
You dont have to agree with my reasons.
The ego on this one *sarcasm*
They are both great consoles and its only *opinion*
There's a lot of good games for ps1 but you didn't find. n64 had great games too. okay, lets compare:
ps1 - sold 100 million.
n64 - sold 30 million.
ps1 had 2398 games!!!
n64 only has 397 games.
0:53 mischief makers
1:41 bettle adventure racer
2:34 pokemon puzzle league
3:10 snowboard kids
3:44 blast corps
4:31 bust-a-move 2 arcade edition
4:59 goemon's great adventure
5:50 robotron 64
Kinsey = cute!
Truth
Blast Corps was one of my favorite N64 games. Even today I still own an N64 plus BC as well as my other games.
I have fond memories of the N64, and I just love the console. There were so many awesome games for that system.
Nice video, I see that Kinsey have also 2 hidden gems ;)
That "shake shake" was stuck with for a long time after playing this game back in the day
. Great episode as always
Kinsey should be in every one of your videos.
Out of every Metal Jesus crew member he seems to have the most chemistry with Kinsey.
Cool to have found another n64 person :-)
I didn't think it was possible but Kinsey just became even more awesome with her Doctor Who Mario shirt.
More shows with her in it please :]
Your channel has been an absolute blast to binge! Woke up this morning with my coffee and immediately started another marathon -- so much nostalgia and love absorbing it all in.
The only games i'll ever need on the N64:
- Goldeneye
- Perfect Dark
- Super Mario 64
- Donkey Kong 64
- TLOZ: Ocarina of Time
- TLOZ: Majora's Mask
- Mario Cart 64
- Mortal Kombat 4
- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Got those on PS1
Johnny TLOF: Wind Waker?
+Afg 13 Only games on N64; Wind Waker's gamecube.
Oh right...
Srry , forgot about it xD
***** I never said they were.
My brother and I LOVED Bust-a-Move 2 Arcade Edition on our N64. It and Dr. Mario 64 were our favorite puzzle games on the system.
que gordita mas adorable!
I had the Pikachu 64 console but a friend of mine was such a huge Pokemon fan and for Christmas one year, I gifted it to him. He was excited and his face was priceless, but I won't lie...I've really regretted it ever since.
Kinsey please jump up and down for a few times
Woaaah, too far!
ItsCBearhere xD
lol she is so cute.
Omg, dying!
How old are you 12 or 13 ??
Mischief Makers is one of my favorite N64 games! Some ideas for part 2 you should look into are Buck Bumble, Top Gear Rally, Gex, Chameleon Twist, and Quest 64.
haha Kinsey is so freakin cuuuute!
no
Milo's Astro lanes was one of my fav N64 titles, super fun to play and pretty wild looking characters.
The N64 is probably the best game system.
While I've never seen one in person, the Japan only Daiei Hawks N64 looks pretty cool. The bottom half is transparent gray and the top is transparent orange with a matching controller. There was also a Daiei Hawks Game Boy Color with the same color scheme.
Great video Jason...but if Kinsey did this video dressed in a skimpy bikini, your "likes" would reach 2 Million in a day! Just saying :P
I'd prefer MJ in a leopard skin thong.
for real.....😏😏
Because a lot of these nerds act like they've never seen a woman before.
UnlicensedOkie Act?
Thanks guys!
i hate n64, ps1 for the win lol that was my first "console war" my best friend had an n64 and i had a ps1. always used to compare and argue who had the better console and we cant even agree to this day after 15 years
Have you guys considered that maybe they are both great consoles with excellent games.
You should love each console for what they offered. They all had/still have unique aspects. The PS1 was rich in RPG's and new types of platforms (crash bandicoot) and racers (Gran Turismo), while the N64 was rich in what Nintendo do best; innovative gaming:
Mario 64- one of the best ever mario games, first one in 3D!
Even the Sega 32X and Saturn have their places!
i hate the fanboyism
As the ancient Hawaiians used to say, go fuck yourself.
"I hate the N64 because its not the PS1"... They were both great consoles.
Great video. Blast Corps is an awesome game. Certainly a unique experience that everyone should play at least once, whether you were a fan of the N64 or not. Plus, the A-Team van is hidden in there somewhere!
Another great hidden gem on the N64 is Body Harvest. It was GTA in 3d before GTA became 3D.
Kinsey is such a charming presence. Helps that she's adorable too.
Games list:
1:00 Mischief Maker
2:00 Beetle Adventure Racing
2:35 Pokemon Puzzle league
3:15 Snowboard Kids
4:00 Blast Corps
4:35 Bust-a-Move 2: Arcade Edition
5:00 Goemon's Great Adventure
6:00 Robotron 64'
1:45 I used to play that game a lot. Has more shortcuts then any other racing game I know of.
Tetrisphere is a pretty unique game. It's a good puzzle game and it defiantly puts a twist on Tetris. The soundtrack is also awesome.
can't say enough of how much I'm in love with Kinsey.....
I have literally just re-added an N64 to my console collection... So this series of videos couldn't be timed any better!
Good Work M.J.R
My hidden gem for N64 is Flying Dragon. This fighting game has chewed up so many hours, it was the go to game for my friends when they stayed over
In that era i had a PSX and a PC and, the games were more Mature
I was playing alot Resident Evil and Counter Strike so, i didn't notice much of the N64 in that Era, it was a kid's console everyone was saying
I once played Mario Kart in it and, it was a great experience
Kinsey is the best hidden gem of all. Straight up 3 plain ole jane 64's one complete boxed with the purple controller. Definitely one of my favorite systems to collect for.
More hidden gems. Me and my mates besides Goldeneye and mariokart64 and all the other great titles, liked to play Turok rage wars a lot. A 1st person shooter deathmatch only game. Really cool weapons and levels and you could even play as a raptor-like lizard.
Battletanx was also great fun together.
With the N64 Nintendo really brought something imo. It was a great revolutionary console.
Metal Jesus without a beard scares me.
Great video, glad to see Kinsey back on you two make great videos
I still want to pick up snowboard kids, puzzle league, and mischief makers. The N64 was one of my favorite consoles to play when I was a kid.
One of my favorite YT channels. I love all your content and your way of doing things.
I remember Blast Corps as my second game after Super Mario 64 and I hated it at first but grew on me in a strange way. May get it back once my upscale comes in.
TETRISPHERE is amazing. Excellent production, sound, and music
goemon's great adventure is a fantastic game. controls feel perfect. a little high on difficulty level sometimes (for me anyway). just a very elegantly designed platformer. and the towns were really enjoyable too. good memories, whish they brought it back on the virtual console
Did you see the way Metal Jesus was looking at Kinsey? I think there's something going on there.
The only thing going on is me trying not to screw up the video take and have to do it all over again!
Great work as always!
I don't blame him, she's a cutie
IM IN LOVE WITH Kensy please include her in ever video from now on. lol love ya MJR but Kensy....... she makes your show soooooooooooo much better to watch
I loved the N64 even though I grew up with the NES. But my tastes hovered around the awesome wrestling games and other gems. Have to say Kinsey picked some great ones. Kinsey, you're super cool btw. Great episode. ^>^
what about Rogue Squadren?.. Most people remember 2-3 that came out on the GC, but Rouge Squadren 1 on the n64 was great.
Yeah great game, but I don't really think it qualifies as a hidden gem but I could be wrong. Another great Star Wars game on N64 was Shadows of the Empire. Shitload of varied gameplay.
Andrew Phillips Wasn't that a launch title?
I'd like to see Nintendo bring back those color schemes with see-through plastic for the 3DS. That "Fire" variant just looks so cool.
Kinsey is an uber cutie! Awesome gems on the 64, Metal Jesus and the beautiful Kinsey make one awesome video!
