- Just a little video showing you 2 glitches I found a while ago.
If you stand under Wheatley while he falls down he stays on top of you.
You can't catch Wheatley, even if you hold him like this.
The second glitch is when he asks you to turn around, if you stand "inside" him you can watch him "hacking" without having to turn around.

You're supposed to catch him with e button or circle on ps. If you just stand beneath it doesn't count. He rolled off at the end so wasn't caught properly

No, it's more because
A) it'd probably be easier to code "on hit ground" instead of "on timer"
B) What's the main thing Source is known for? Physics. Yeah, imagine the "donk" is off by a few seconds because Jimmy is still using a pention.

Seems a lot of people don't understand why this is a glitch.
You're not supposed to be able to catch Wheatley because that's part of the storyline. This is why Wheatley doesn't say anything when you stop his fall - there's nothing coded for if you do catch him. Therefore, it's a glitch. Also, you can't press the use key to grab onto him with the portal gun.
It's not a glitch. He landed on chells head wich prevented his fall. He doesn't talk because he hasn't fallen on the floor yet. He is programmed to talk when he lands.

What if when you fight him, when he's supposed to mention that you didn't catch him, saying it's another reason he hates you, what if instead when you did catch him, he said "Remember when you didn't- oh.... you did, didn't you?" And then he'd not hate you, and not be thrown into space.

And then there was an achievement to catch Wheatley...
During the final boss fight, Wheatley says that you didn't catch him.

It's kind of interesting that they have it set up so that his next line is actually triggered by him hitting the ground instead of being timed. Clearly, they didn't intend for catching him to be an option, so it seems like a timed response would have been the easier thing to do in that situation.
I like how the game is designed to make it to where you can't catch him he was just kinda like:
Wheatly: Alright I'm trusting you to catch me
Wheatly: *Falls and actaully gets caught*
Wheatly: Uhhhhhhh ... I don't know what to do now I didn't think I would get this far

Hello, test subjects.Nothing but good news. We are officially done dealing with Black Mesa and are receiving ALL their funding. I'd also like to note that the Impact Jello Pad Launcher is turning out to be a huge success. To the ignorant people posting that this isn't a glitch, by catching him he meant he caught him opening the door instead of turning around.
I caught him "hacking" the door in the turret scanning room. I know that's not a glitch but it's funny to see him break the glass

In the second "glitch", it's an issue in the way that the developers of the level have set up the hacking process for Wheatley. By having an invisible 'trigger area' around the hacking panel, this checks which direction that you're looking at and causes Wheatley to repeat that you should turn around before opening the door. Of course, the developers would not have time to completely surround the hacking panel with that trigger, and so left an area that did not check for where you were looking.
What annoys me is when you are in the elevator to wake up GLaDOS and he says "Look for a lever" and suddenly I want to put him down so bad but I can't which makes me just angry'

I however, am an adult who knows a thing or two about what is and isn't considered a glitch in a program as well as being able to recognize when something happens in a game that is unintended. This video is evidence to what is very clear, and that is that catching Wheatley is an event that Valve did not bother to program into the game, most likely so that Wheatley would simply have another line to say after he becomes the antagonist.

You can't catch him now, because it's part of storyline as he said "Why you didn't catch me" at the final boss fight.

It is, by definition, NOT a glitch. A glitch has consequence. Cause and effect. But catching Wheatley has no effect. He just falls slightly slower. (If you were able to actually grab him, causing him to skip dialogue he normally would say, THAT would be a glitch.) Calling that a glitch is like saying "Putting a portal on any surface other than the one that solves the puzzle is a glitch."

It's not a glitch. Later in the game he says, "Like that time I jumped off my management rail, not sure if I'd die or not when I did, and all you had to do was catch me? Annnd you didn't. Did you?" (I think when you're defeating him, this is said). To not catch him was intended, so players who later came along wouldn't be confused by the line.
The thing is if he says that but you DID catch him as shown in this video he is all the more moronic :P
Tommy Sandal they just didnt expext this, it also explains how he doesnt speak until he hits the ground or that you cant pick him up with the portalgun. You can catch him but it wont change the story, Hell still have the same dialoug

its not the physics that is "glitched" but wheatleys reaction to beeing catched by the player. i think you cant even call this a glitch because there is nothing wrong, he just is not meant to be catched...
a glitch is an originaly unintnded use of the software code and not of a game mechanic if you get what i mean (prob not >:D)

This IS glitch. This is the game behaving in a way unintended by the developer. ***** Most glitches are caused by one part of the game functioning properly causing another part not to work as intended - or in this case, Valve not creating anything to prepare for this particular action. That is the very nature and source of most bugs and glitches. Shu L.Light The term glitch applies to anything that behaves in an irregular/malfunctioning way. If Valve had predicted that this would happen, Wheatley would've had dialog or a script that would've fired when this happen. Since it didn't, this is indeed a glitch, an unintended happening caused by Valve not anticipating this action.
