Sacramento Public Library presents Diana Gabaldon at The Crest Theatre

- The Sacramento Public Library hosted an interview with Diana Gabaldon on June 13, 2014 at The Crest Theatre. The author of the Outlander book series that inspired the Starz television series, Gabaldon was in Sacramento to promote her latest novel, "Written in My Own Heart's Blood." This video captures the exciting event, from the fans entering the theatre to bagpiper Joshua Brown's leading Library Director Rivkah Sass to the stage, and best of all, the conversation between Gabaldon and Librarian Stephenee Borelli, which garnered some unique responses from the author. Learn something new about the author, share some laughs...and perhaps blush a few times.
Excellent. She talked about lots of things I'd never heard before, especially during the second half.
Thank you Sac Library! I was beyond bummed out to read that Diana would be speaking in Sac, but tickets were already sold out. Being able to watch such a well made video of her talk has made my day!! Sac Library is the best!
I was there...it was a fun night. She was very nice to talk to and she signed both the new book and my anniversary edition of Outlander

That isn´t fair. When I say I´m librarian, I never get such a cool reaction, but a look of pity and few awkward words to make me feel better.

I Wonder why Diana who is an amazing writer always repeates the exact same examples as if they were scripted
I don't think they are scripted. She's not an actress/singer/celebrity who can always come up with some new, funny story, even when you can tell that it's a made up one. She's a writer, and many times authors are not that good with interviews, since they are not the products - like actors for example. Their job is actually very quiet. And they make lots of interviews only with some of the writers, since they are not in the public eyes that much. Look at some JK Rowling interviews - who's probably the most interviewed author ever, if you count every public appearance -, you can see how shy and insecure she is around the first HP books, and she's much more confident during the last HP books. I guess she had to evolve those "interview" qualites, since the media went crazy about her. Also, these events we can watch on youtube, they were not meant to be on telly or DVD, they were recorded them, but they were meant to be for the audience there. And of course the audience is always new, so I don't think they minded the same stories and jokes etc.

She lives in the Phoenix, Az. area. Scottsdale, I think. She is also Latina. Gabaldon is her maiden name.
@@marypasco2213 I think she means a real Indian, like from India 😂. Not the misnomered Indians( Native Americans)
