    I am 75 and have been bowling for ten years, three weeks ago I switched to two handed bowling. Your videos have been very helpful and I am having lots of fun making the change. I have already had several 200 games. It’s never too late to try something new!

    Excellent content of course! On the topic of slow mo videos, I started my two handed journey doing exactly what you’re saying not to do and it took me a while to discover why I wasn’t getting consistent. Once I realized everyone is different and it’s near impossible to imitate a pro, I started to pay more attention to what everyone had in common, why they were doing that, and what is the ball doing throughout the approach. Once I started paying attention to those areas, I discovered my form started changing drastically and my consistency increased significantly! My current form is no where close to what my form was starting out during my two handed journey!

    Thank you for making this video. I have trouble keeping my balance right at the end when releasing the ball resulting in an arm swing that is just too slow. I use a 4-step approach and will try to do that little skip step I see you doing. Maybe that will give me that extra speed I need. I am 57 and started bowling about 10 years ago. The first 2-3 years I bowled one-handed and then switched to two-handed. This is a young man's game, but I'm trying. It was easier to keep my arm straight and follow through playing one-handed. My two-handed arm swing tends to go out -- away from my body -- instead of in (that is my elbow) and my swing is not that fast because of a lack of leg speed, and I also slow up my swing because I'm trying to hit my target and that hesitation causes me to slow down.

      This is a young man's game, but I'm trying. => Believe it or not, my honor to have your comment here sir. At 57 years old, you still open your mind and adapt yourself to the modern game. I hope my current and upcoming videos can help you enjoy the game :D

    My ball speed struggled 2 handed until I straightened out my arm in the backswing and got the ball back farther up and used more gravity to help me bring the ball down.
    50% rule is a good rule of thumb but the farther back and up you can get the ball in the backswing the faster your gonna throw it. I was struggling to hit 12mph before and now I’m regularly at 17mph. Just need to control it after you add that much speed
    2. yo-yo people use to describe the 1 handed release doesn’t work well for a good 2 hander because your hand is always in the best spot to generate revs, on the bottom 3/4s of the ball so why try and move your wrist from that spot mid swing when you can just take your front hand off and rip up the back of the ball to control the hook? More hook rip harder less hook make it smoother

      Precious feedback. Thank you brother. The straightened arm swing in 2 handed bowling has been a myth for a long time. I haven't been able to master it but I still don't reject it. Maybe I need more time to understand my body during the backswing. It's a good news that you have increases your ball speed by straightening your armsswing :D

      To my imagination, this style looks like 1 handed style without thumb. What motivated you to learn this style bro?

    • @raymah7
      @raymah7 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BowlismOutlaw I've bowled thumb in one handed for two decades and made the switch a couple summers ago due to a wrist injury as squeezing the ball was a problem I could never fix. At first I tried two handed but it was straining my back too much. Which led me to the no thumb one handed style. Switching to this form did bring back the passion in bowling for me but the last couple years has been a up and down battle trying to relearn my physical and mental game. From going to a slow straight bowler to a slow cranker now lol. Atleast I don't need to play with thumb tape anymore 😂

    • @BowlismOutlaw
      @BowlismOutlaw  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh such a great story behind it! Let me take a few more questions
      Do you have injuries with your back before?
      Do you manage to carry the ball without thumb comfortably? (How many lbs does your ball weigh?)

    • @raymah7
      @raymah7 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BowlismOutlaw I don't have any real injuries to my back, just the typical tightness and soreness on the lower back. I always stretch for an hour at home before I bowl. I don't usually have issues holding the ball and I use 14lbs. My typical issues is slow speed, timing and consistency. Still maintaining 191 avg in both leagues but the short patterns are killing me lol

      @raymah7 your case is quite unique. I should think about this style and make some experiments. This is a Korean bowler who also plays your style instagram.com/reel/C1D9I7mPN_L/?igshid=ZWI2YzEzYmMxYg==

    dont have to imitate a pro, but you definitely gotta stop moving ur head so much during downswing and release, it seems like u snap your head to your left

      @BowlismOutlaw He's right. Every coach stresses less headmovement throughout your entire release. One reason coaches love Prather is he has very minimal head movement.
