I'm just wondering how you shop on Shopwire or Shopify? I've tried to look for items but it keeps coming up with how to build a shop. How do they get customers to their shop? Do you have to create an account to shop? Sorry if they sound like silly questions, but I just don't understand how they create a customer base. Great video by the way!
It's not a silly question. ShopWired and Shopify are ecommerce platforms that allow you to build an ecommerce website, which you then market to bring in customers. They aren't marketplaces that bring in traffic for you like Etsy or Ebay, I've done a video explaining the difference between the two which might be helpful th-cam.com/video/9C4Gc3AFQJ4/w-d-xo.html
I struggle with legal matters, for shopify, knowing I cannot set that up. I know my store will fail instantly. So question is it the same with Shopwired, must set up my own policies, terms and conditions, refunds and returns and most importantly data protection
ShopWired have some templates but it is your responsibility as the website owner to set up your policies, terms and conditions etc and make sure they are legal, no matter which platform you go with.
But you also rate EKM the same as Bluepark who are really awful. I know this because I have been with EKM for 14 years and since they were sold they have got really bad. I have never moved because I worry something will go wrong. Bluepark has a problem importing my images. They all look different sizes when imported from EKM. But they look fine imported to Shopwired. Then there's arranging products in order. Shopwired matched the order they are in but Bluepark throws them into chaos because half my products have a location number of 9999999.@@EcommerceGold
@@EcommerceGold I've been told by a Bluepark recommended partner that Shopwired's system is not as modern as Bluepark and that I need to pay someone to migrate my site properly because Shopwired don't fully understand the implications and needs when migrating a website. Essentially they are pretty clueless when it comes to "keeping the integrity of the site" is what I've been told. Am I being misled? This person is recommended by Bluepark but charges a minimum of £2000.
hi, thanks for this. So I see alot of the messaging from Shopwired is about best for UK businesses. Is it just the support timezone that makes it better for UK businesses. How do you think it fares for non UK businesses? Im in Ireland and looking to sell in the US.
No problem. It's not just the support times, the platform as a whole is geared towards the UK market from settings to integrations, plus it is based in the UK as well. If you are just looking to sell to the US, then I'd be looking at something like Shopify, which is designed for international selling.
@@EcommerceGoldthanks for the reply, I was hoping to avoid shopify to be honest, I actually messaged shopwired today on chat and they said I could use it for selling in the US but i might have to look into it a bit more after your reply🙂
@@EcommerceGold thanks for your reply. I have emailed them and just awaiting a response. So far I'm really liking shopwired. I'm only using the trial at the moment but think I will be upgrading to it from wix. I do like shopify too but the British element and support is a big pull.
You should get a reply tomorrow as main support is Monday to Friday. I really like ShopWired and think they are a really good option for UK businesses, definitely more so than Wix. I hope you signed up through my link 😁
@@EcommerceGold I didn't I'm afraid as I signed up for the trial before watching your video! But if I can use your link or if you have a referral code or something I can use when signing up for a package I definitely will use it. Can I ask what payment gateway you use and if it has a POS card reader etc?
I’m not sure if it works once you have signed up to the trial but my link is www.ecommerce-gold.com/shopwired . I’ve only used paypal and stripe as I only did online sales.
I've been with ShopWired since July '21, thanks to a helpful review by Paul...and yes, I did buy him a coffee ;)
I'm guessing things are going well with ShopWired then? And thank you again for the coffee :)
@@EcommerceGold Pleasure! Yes, so far, so good.
Thanks for this! I'd like to see an updated Shopwired vs Shopify comparrison as I see your last one was two years ago. Al still quite confusing 😕
No problem. It is on my to do list but I have updated my written comparison that might be helpful www.ecommerce-gold.com/shopwired-vs-shopify/
Phone support would be helpful. Shame they stopped it.

@EcommerceGold Thankyou for that! Will give the video a watch, but what you have said makes sense. Thank you.
Currently use WIx for my shop, which I have issues with… curious why there is not a Shopwired vs Wix … am I missing something?
Because a ShopWired vs Wix video wouldn't get many views unfortunately but I have done a written comparison www.ecommerce-gold.com/shopwired-vs-wix/

@EcommerceGold That's my main challenge how to make sure it's legal.
Either get them done or checked by a legal professional who has knowledge around ecommerce.
How do Shopwired measure up to Bluepark?
I think it is better than Bluepark, I haven't done a video but have compared them in this post www.ecommerce-gold.com/ekm-vs-shopwired-vs-bluepark/

You have kind of confirmed my conclusion of my comparison that I think ShopWired is the best option of the three.

It can be used, it also depends on the type of business you are doing and what features and integrations you need.
Paid for migration from Shopify to Shop Wired. Almost 3 months in the making, still not done. Shop weird, I don't get it. Is this normal?
I don't know as haven't done a migration, guessing you keep contacting the support?
What about aasaan did you try it before?
No, never heard of it.
Can I use my sumup card reader with Shopwired? Does it integrate with stock etc?
I don’t know, you would be best to contact them directly.

It's a great platform but so, so frustrating at the same time.
They are all frustrating in one way or another
