Hi, I’d like to ask what the rights are for an employee why was terminated - during the probationary period - for without cause. As per the contract, it says an employee can be terminated during their probationary period at any point, for any reason. It also says that the employee would get 1 week’s pay as per the ESA (employment standards act). Is this fair? Thank you.
Great. I'm in negotiations with a big Canadian charity I worked for. Severance was not even offered. I did not know about the right to severance. They offered a few weeks wages. No no no I want a year's worth. Party in Mexico soon
I worked in canada as of recently. I mean im a Canadian citizen and i was fired almost 2 weeks ago now.i worked a year and 4 months maybe 5 and i only got 2 weeks severance pay.does that sound right?
