Timea, I once worked as a night yard man at a haulage company, prepping trucks for the next day which, meant I probably changed over 200 super singles trailer wheels over the years. If ever you are faced with a stuck wheel after you have removed the lug nuts, the quickest and easiest way to free it, is to remove the spare wheel and 'gently' roll it into the outer edge of the stuck tyre at a right angle (90 degrees). The 100kg plus rolling spare tyre has way more stored energy than you could produce by kicking the stuck wheel or that a crowbar can easily apply, and it usually breaks the wheel loose from the center hub at the first attempt. 👍 I always did this rather than use a crowbar or a tyre changing trolley to shift a stuck wheel when in the yard.

Fair play to young lady , fine job changing that tire . I messed up my back years ago so when pulling the tire off the tire carrier I would spray WD on the carrier to make it easy to slide. I then would use a ratchet strap making it into a loop around tire and around my waist to to use my legs to pull it out and stand it up. Same process putting flat tire on carrier but pull from other side of trailer with strap. Happy Christmas to you from the USA . I have a lot of good memories from trucking in Europe.

From my understanding I believe those tire and wheel combo are over 150 pounds and up to low 200 pounds. That was a tough job and she handled it like a champ. Bravo!
You are great, in our area, a driver a heavy truck will have a small open tool using battery or pneumatic air from the air on the car. To ensure safety when drive on the road. Hi Timea, in Canada we're not allowed to change our own tires. Too many of them were coming loose and coming off the rims. Actually a few people were killed by tires rolling free of the truck or trailer. I changed many a tire before that law came into effect, but never a super single. You did a fantastic job. I live near Sarnia Ontario where there is so much truck traffic crossing into and out of Michigan and Ontario that they had to build another bridge between them to handle it. There are a couple of super highways that truckers use to cross Canada from New York to Michigan en route to Chicago and points South of it and vice versa to the North Eastern States. I have seen on the CBC news whole axles with both duel wheels intact come off trucks and cross the median on the 401, 402 and 403 at great speeds, then crash right through the windshield of oncoming vehicles killing all inside. I do not like governmental interference so I don't like laws, I'd rather be wary and sue in court than have government regulation. The people in the government don't know what in Hell's name they are doing 99.99% of the time. So, I'd rather they not get involved. ben/ michigan

I don’t think much of the driver in the white truck who just watched you when you were putting the punctured tyre back in the rack, I would have come across and offered my help, he needs to try showing a bit more camaraderie to his fellow drivers. Hi Timea. You sure was doubly blessed when the flat tire occurred during the daytime in a parking lot rather than on a highway somewhere, and that you had a good working spare tire to replace the flat tire. You did a superb job taking care of the flat tire.
When I started driving trucks in the 70’s I was wrassling a spare. My experienced mentor said “you have to be smarter than the tire” :). A little bit of dishwashing soapy water on the bars of the spare tire carrier and the swine spare will slide much easier. 2 long bars are your friends. I like that geared tool for removing the nuts.
Personally, I don't agree to change the tire myself. Because if I do that, for the next 4 days my back hurts so bad I can't walk. That's why I always call the tire service wherever I am and wait for them for maybe 10 hours.
Yes, you are right the health is the most important. I decided to change myself the wheel because otherwise I would have been late with the transport. Also my company doesn't have tire service, but my boss told me to drive with the tire 1 km to the service. I did not want to destroy the tire.😊 Take care!
I was with the RAF in the late 50s in Germany we used Faun 6 wheel 10 nonners the spare wheel was up behind the cab on a ramp arrangement. It was said there were Faun wheels with flat tyres in ditches all over Germany

Nice to see a woman not afraid of a little hard work, might I suggest,the next time, you are putting the tire back , after leaning on cradle, use a strap, hook to bottom of trailer, the to the rim of the tire, and lift with the strap, then slide the rest of the way back, should make this easier, and will help save your back, as well, use a bar to remove from axle, trust me on this, back pains are no joke when it’s to far gone

In this case the best soluyion is to use repair kit for tyre. A few minutes without even taking wheel off. Simple knot from repair kit with special glue and use pump to necessary pressure. My truck has 20 tyres and repair kit forvtyres is very handy.
To make life easier for yourself, mark the first stud that you take off lay each nut on the ground left to right, then when you put them back on replace in the order you took them off, left to right. Good luck.

A little "trick": to make it easier to loosen the nuts, clean the threads of your studs with a small wire brush, it's radical against dirt and rust! Good luck and happy new year. When you put on a good tire: Lower the trailer a little in the way that the bolt on the wheel and the upper/highest hole in the rim are on the seem high. Just that one hole will fall over the bolt, now lift the trailer a bit, until the tire will come of the ground, the rest of the holes in the rim will fall over the other bolts on the wheel. You only have to push the rim against the wheel. Screw the nuts and tighten them firmly and you're ready to go!

Here in the US, no company driver would EVER change a tire. We would call our road breakdown number, and they would dispatch a tire truck to change the tire. Also, our trailers either have dual-wheel setups, or very wide super-singles, either of which would be too large for you to manage. But, if you want to save time on waiting for a tire truck, I'd suggest a tire plug kit. They come with several rubber tire plugs, a fairly large hook/auger, and a large tube of tire cement. If you can move the puncture to a more convenient direction, this can be done while mounted. If it holds, it will at least get you to your destination, when you can consider finding a more permanent fix. Fifteen minutes and you'll be on your way....
Hi Timea Just some advice for future. Never tighten the nuts to pull the wheel onto the hub and when you tighten them all up , go opposite nut to opposite nut and work your way around the wheel. I was impressed with that wheel nut tool. I haven't seen that before. I predict more grief for you if you run tyres as low on tread as that on any regular basis. Otherwise impressive effort.

I live in Ireland and never once have I seen a truck driver change a wheel, they always call out a breakdown tyre service to do it. I think you are a great grafter (hard worker) but don't strain yourself too much or you could end up with a hernia, ask for help if anyone is willing to help. I'm surprised the other truck driver didn't at least help you load the spare wheel back on to the cage at the back of the truck. Keep safe and look after yourself.

Do you own the trailer? Most companies will not let you change the tires now because of insurance reasons. That air hose was neat. We always had one that hooked up the the trailer supply gladhand on the tractor. When we were able to change tires we had a air numatics that also hooked up the gladhand, so it was really fast.

Greetings from Scotland! Hi Timea! My God girl, that tyre (English spelling) is seriously bloody heavy! I am amazed that you had the strength to do that! I am honestly not being sexist, just that you are not exactly a lady with a bodybuilders physique! Most of all I have enormous respect for the fact that your determination and stubbornness meant that there was no way you were giving up, at any point! When I was training heavy mechanics years ago I would have traded all of them for you! You are a force of nature! Just three tips, squirt the WD40 lube on the wheel studs/nuts first, before anything else. Get a bar with a flat end that will dig into the ground and not slip so much when putting the tyre on etc. Finally, use a load strap around the tyre to pull it into the cradle. It makes easy work of a heavy tyre and saves a lot of effort. I am still in shock of your huge effort Timea! An amazing young driver! What a mechanic you would have made!!!! Wherever you drive, you are a shining example of a hard worker! Have a great week!
I was about to say the same. All of the trucks where I used to work had a short tyre changing crowbar on board which makes life so much easier. I was praying that she wasn't going to the drop the tyre as they are damned heavy to pick up again and require a good technique. I used to struggle changing super singles and I am 6'2" and 260lbs. 👍

You know, I was so afraid that the tire truck's wheel tips over, because then I would have had a serious problem!😂😂 My boss said if I consider that I can go until the tire shop with the flat tire/ by putting air in the tire, I should try. I didn't want to destroy my tire, so I was like this will be today's workout.😁 It would have helped a lot if I would lube the wheel's nuts/lubes first. My father also told me, that we have to get/buy a bar with a flat end so it will be much easier "maneuvering" the tire. I would have loved to come to your courses of heavy mechanics!😊 I always say that everything is a matter of will, so I decided that I have to change it, so I won't destroy it. This Women need a medal for how she went about this tyre change. That tyre would have out weighed her by maybe double or even more than her body weight. I am mazed she has not been shown howto remove a trye that size ny pulling on it fac forard the best single way is to ean back and take hold of the rim and slowly slie if from the drum. Such a tiny little women doing this with a supersingle is mazing i feel.Then have to put on in the flat ones place ie beyond my resoning it was as bald as the road she was working on. When I started driving trucks in the 70’s I was wrassling a spare. My experienced mentor said “you have to be smarter than the tire” :). A little bit of dishwashing soapy water on the bars of the spare tire carrier and the swine spare will slide much easier. 2 long bars are your friends.
I like that geared tool for removing the nuts.
I've just tuned into your vlog and I don't think there is anything your can't do, super impressed.
Personally, I don't agree to change the tire myself.
Because if I do that, for the next 4 days my back hurts so bad I can't walk.
That's why I always call the tire service wherever I am and wait for them for maybe 10 hours.

Yes, you are right the health is the most important. I decided to change myself the wheel because otherwise I would have been late with the transport. Also my company doesn't have tire service, but my boss told me to drive with the tire 1 km to the service. I did not want to destroy the tire.😊 Take care!

I was with the RAF in the late 50s in Germany we used Faun 6 wheel 10 nonners the spare wheel was up behind the cab on a ramp arrangement. It was said there were Faun wheels with flat tyres in ditches all over Germany

Look, she’s a real “old school” truck driver ! Not a seat warmer or a steering wheel holder like most in ‘murika are ! Most so called truckers in America these days have a hard time replacing a burned lightbulb or a blown fuse, let alone a flat tire! Most don’t even carry a frigging screwdriver in their darn truck and won’t know what to do with a torque multiplier tool. LOL

Nice to see a woman not afraid of a little hard work, might I suggest,the next time, you are putting the tire back , after leaning on cradle, use a strap, hook to bottom of trailer, the to the rim of the tire, and lift with the strap, then slide the rest of the way back, should make this easier, and will help save your back, as well, use a bar to remove from axle, trust me on this, back pains are no joke when it’s to far gone

In this case the best soluyion is to use repair kit for tyre. A few minutes without even taking wheel off. Simple knot from repair kit with special glue and use pump to necessary pressure. My truck has 20 tyres and repair kit forvtyres is very handy.

To make life easier for yourself, mark the first stud that you take off lay each nut on the ground left to right, then when you put them back on replace in the order you took them off, left to right. Good luck.

A little "trick": to make it easier to loosen the nuts, clean the threads of your studs with a small wire brush, it's radical against dirt and rust!

When you put on a good tire: Lower the trailer a little in the way that the bolt on the wheel and the upper/highest hole in the rim are on the seem high. Just that one hole will fall over the bolt, now lift the trailer a bit, until the tire will come of the ground, the rest of the holes in the rim will fall over the other bolts on the wheel. You only have to push the rim against the wheel. Screw the nuts and tighten them firmly and you're ready to go!

Here in the US, no company driver would EVER change a tire. We would call our road breakdown number, and they would dispatch a tire truck to change the tire. Also, our trailers either have dual-wheel setups, or very wide super-singles, either of which would be too large for you to manage.
But, if you want to save time on waiting for a tire truck, I'd suggest a tire plug kit. They come with several rubber tire plugs, a fairly large hook/auger, and a large tube of tire cement. If you can move the puncture to a more convenient direction, this can be done while mounted. If it holds, it will at least get you to your destination, when you can consider finding a more permanent fix. Fifteen minutes and you'll be on your way....

Hi Timea Just some advice for future. Never tighten the nuts to pull the wheel onto the hub and when you tighten them all up , go opposite nut to opposite nut and work your way around the wheel. I was impressed with that wheel nut tool. I haven't seen that before. I predict more grief for you if you run tyres as low on tread as that on any regular basis. Otherwise impressive effort.

I live in Ireland and never once have I seen a truck driver change a wheel, they always call out a breakdown tyre service to do it. I think you are a great grafter (hard worker) but don't strain yourself too much or you could end up with a hernia, ask for help if anyone is willing to help. I'm surprised the other truck driver didn't at least help you load the spare wheel back on to the cage at the back of the truck. Keep safe and look after yourself.

Do you own the trailer? Most companies will not let you change the tires now because of insurance reasons. That air hose was neat. We always had one that hooked up the the trailer supply gladhand on the tractor. When we were able to change tires we had a air numatics that also hooked up the gladhand, so it was really fast.

Greetings from Scotland! Hi Timea! My God girl, that tyre (English spelling) is seriously bloody heavy! I am amazed that you had the strength to do that! I am honestly not being sexist, just that you are not exactly a lady with a bodybuilders physique! Most of all I have enormous respect for the fact that your determination and stubbornness meant that there was no way you were giving up, at any point! When I was training heavy mechanics years ago I would have traded all of them for you! You are a force of nature! Just three tips, squirt the WD40 lube on the wheel studs/nuts first, before anything else. Get a bar with a flat end that will dig into the ground and not slip so much when putting the tyre on etc. Finally, use a load strap around the tyre to pull it into the cradle. It makes easy work of a heavy tyre and saves a lot of effort. I am still in shock of your huge effort Timea! An amazing young driver! What a mechanic you would have made!!!! Wherever you drive, you are a shining example of a hard worker! Have a great week!
I was about to say the same. All of the trucks where I used to work had a short tyre changing crowbar on board which makes life so much easier. I was praying that she wasn't going to the drop the tyre as they are damned heavy to pick up again and require a good technique. I used to struggle changing super singles and I am 6'2" and 260lbs. 👍

You know, I was so afraid that the tire truck's wheel tips over, because then I would have had a serious problem!😂😂 My boss said if I consider that I can go until the tire shop with the flat tire/ by putting air in the tire, I should try. I didn't want to destroy my tire, so I was like this will be today's workout.😁
It would have helped a lot if I would lube the wheel's nuts/lubes first. My father also told me, that we have to get/buy a bar with a flat end so it will be much easier "maneuvering" the tire.
I would have loved to come to your courses of heavy mechanics!😊 I always say that everything is a matter of will, so I decided that I have to change it, so I won't destroy it. After arriving to the service, they showed me that the tire had a big framing nail embedded at an angle in it, so it was a good decision to change it.

This Women need a medal for how she went about this tyre change. That tyre would have out weighed her by maybe double or even more than her body weight. I am mazed she has not been shown howto remove a trye that size ny pulling on it fac forard the best single way is to ean back and take hold of the rim and slowly slie if from the drum. Such a tiny little women doing this with a supersingle is mazing i feel.Then have to put on in the flat ones place ie beyond my resoning it was as bald as the road she was working on.
