Wyndorf seeks and finds: Timeless songs, kindled by the unpretentious Proto-punk era. “MINDFUCKER” pumps and scratches at every turn! Dave fires off piercing calls over neckbreaking guitar work and whirlwinds of psychedelic solos. All things are in constant motion with a sound of groovy straightforwardness, always heading for the essence of "the" song. It's OK I'm not complaining, there are no "bad" MM albums...but seriously I would consider all of the other 3 albums since Powertrip to be superior to this.

For anybody like me who thinks this is Monster Magnets most bland and generic material ever, check out Milking the Stars (2014) and Cobras and Fire (2015). Those albums rule, certainly Daves best material since God Says No (2001) if not ever
